However I have watched AD long enough to know mentally he's just not that guy in the clutch. There is still time to prove me wrong though. But look at a limited baller like Montrezl and how hard he went in the 4th and look at AD.

While it is still game one, there are some fundamental issues the Lakers must address after game one. The first and most important is Lebron playing PG. I do understand Rondo’s absence may have necessitated this tactics last night and I hope it is not the strategy for the season because it would fail. Bron spent 16 seconds, more in other instances with the ball before making a decision to pass or take a shot and this killed the offense tremendously. Also, the Clippers caught the wind of the power pick and roll between Bron and Davis and they worked hard to deny AD the ball and if he got it, they ensured James was sucked in that it did not matter anymore, consequently, we saw a lot of reset after the pick.

The one advantage the Lakers have is their length. That thing is stifling especially on the defense. The combination of McGee, AD, Bron, Kuzz and others can alter offenses and force changes in offensive schemes for the opponent, however, that advantage looked limited to the defense from what I saw last night. The Lakers do not have perimeter scoring. D. Green went off last night and shamed me but I will not count on his consistency just yet. Out of Green, I can not remember another player who was dangerous from the perimeter.

I expect some adjustments as players like Kuzz and Rondo return from injury but don’t get it twisted, the Clippers are above the Lakers and this is without PG13.

First of, for you to say we lack perimeter shooting is absurd. Do you know how many 40% 3pt shooters we have on that team? I'd say the coach lost this game for us, because I'm sure it was his decision to always create through LeBron. He was slow most times. We didn't move the ball around. Having Rondo would have freed LeBron a little bit for him to play as a forward a few times.

Again, we might be judging them too harshly and early, because Clippers are a damn good team. And they were really fired up last night, they played like underdogs who wanted to prove a point.

So, judge us when we are 10-20 games in.

You obviously chose to read what interests you in my subsequent posts because if you read the entirety you would see where I mentioned the impact of injuries in yesterday’s lineup especially with Bron playing the point. You are not going to the play the Clippers all 82 games so the Lakers are definitely going to make adjustments even with the injured players out.

I liked what I saw yesterday.

Lebron forcing the issue, DH looking for his rhythm, but even more importantly, the ability to play lockdown defense for stretches.

I won't over analyze the game. It boiled down to shots just not falling for the lakers, and they were still in the game!
