His tongue may be tied. Like someone mentioned earlier. Happened to a friend's daughter. After 1 year, she was just humming. We didn't know she was struggling to talk. When she travelled, a relative noticed and recommended a doctor. They eventually cut the skin under the tongue. She was advices to stand outside the room cos mothers can't take the painful process their babies go through. Takes a few minutes. That girl screams now and shouts daddy whenever he's at the door. Just an option you should look into before striking it out.

It is too early for that. As long as he's responding to words when spoken to. I'm currently dealing with one too but he's improving and older than this one. She should let the kid mix up with his peers at school

Only 18 months and you are already worried, i have 2 yrs and 3 months who cant pronounce anything but understands when you talk. As far as your child hears what someone says, he will talk one day.

I got to d age of 4 before talking. Parents nearly gave up on me

Give him original honey immediately he wakes in the morning and before bed at night. He'll talk by God's grace.

My eldest sister started talking at the age of 5. Hehehe, today, she is a machine gun when she talks or gets angry.

Do not worry madam. I would advise first to get your child a good school; second, speak one language at home to avoid confusion as they observe and listen to what and how we talk, third, get an appointment with a speech therapist, fouth, don't go about asking too many people about things aside medically trained, fifth take him to parties, meetings and playground, and last but not the least never show anxiety or frustration in his presence. Take care.

My son is exactly the age of yours.he talks alot. He even goes errand within the house.we even complain he talks too much.Yours will eventually talk. Every child with their time. Be easy.

I think you should be a bit worried now, cos at this stage he's supposed to blab and make sounds even though you don't understand. He's suppose to mimic you as well. The good news is he is not dumb and he's trying so hard to make sounds that's why he hums.
My advice is try get to a very good hospital and request to see a pediatrician let them confirm he doesn't have tongue tie cos that is one major factor that prevents children from talking. So they can also rule out any other issues.

He is a boy. He is normal
Enrol him in a creche and wait for three months

Give the child time, he will talk, since he do hum. Also, make sure you play with him always. make he laugh, doing this too helps the child

THE DUDE IS NINE NOW, HE TALK LIKE THE FIRST YEARS TALKS WERE HIDING SOMEWHERE.

children re different. My 6 years old niece started talking early but she's only started talking clearly like early this year. Her baby sister is 3 years old and was babbling like a baby even at age 2. She started talking at 1yr, 8 months when kids her age were already reciting ABC in baby tongue. My Aunty's daughter who is same age as my 3 yr old niece could talk when my sister's daughter couldn't but while my niece could walk and run, my cousin who could talk couldn't stand not to talk of walk or run. But they now do these things effortlessly.

He will talk, if you dangle few ££ coins infront of him.

And oh! Don't talk to him in all that baby language rubbish like, Goo goo! gaa gaa! Talk to him like A grown ass Adult. Trust me He will talk.

I really don't think the insults are necessary, there is something called developmental milestones and it guides you in monitoring your childs growth and development, if between a particular age range your child cannot and is not trying to do the specified things for his or her age, as a parent there's need to bother and clear all doubts.
She's just a concerned parent looking out for the child.

My neice was 2years old and she couldn't talk. She just nods her head. But now, she no dey shut up!

It took me 4 years to start walking.. Crawled on my belly till I did.. My mum never panicked tho.. She even fought a friend of hers that used to slap me on my feet everytime she came around..
The point is, the human body is very complex.. No two people are actually the same and panicking won't help matters.. Just give him time, a year probably.. If he doesn't talk then you can seek medical counsel.. It'll be well..
