Hahahahaha. What will you then say about my 2 year 2 month old who is yet to utter a word except bye?

He can hum to all the songs in my phone though and goes on little errands like fetch me my phone but he simply can't speak.

I don't think you should worry so much.

See your Doctor it's not funny bro

Pls get your child to see an ENT Dr to rule out reduced hearing.... as a child needs to hear first in order to speak. Do it fast pls, if it's the case some of it is amenable to treatment.
Nevertheless some just speak at their own time

Hello Guys,

Kindly assist. I have an 18months old child (1year 6months) but he is yet to talk.

He only makes sounds and gesticulates. He also hum when baby sings are being played or atleast tries to blab along but that’s all.

He has not said any real thing like daddy or mummy or anything at all.

I have met children who are not up to 1yr or even 1yr and some months already talking. This is getting me worried. Should I be worried

Parents pls I need your opinion on what I should do.

Mods kindly assist for broader suggestions. Beginning to get desperate.

relax... He will talk as far as he hears what you are saying.... But he will be stammering,I was told I couldn't talk for two years plus until one very day I said a word and they were surprised though I was a chronic stammerer but God be praise

For what? sad

He should be saying a few words or saying things that sound audible. He's humming because he's having difficulties.

You do need to look for the screw that got loose from your skull. Me thinks your brain has been pouring out. Do something before it's too late. I mean, someone is concerned about their child and you call them stupid.

Take the Child for a Cognitive Function Test.

Hard as this statement might sound, your child may be mentally retarded. Possibly Down's syndrome

Lol what

So she had a baby and didnt know it had Downs Syndrome for 18 months? Dont you think she would have noticed by now?

i hope you know what Downs syndrome really is. Wow!

As long as he has school then don't worry, hell begin talking pretty soon. I know a boy who couldn't talk at almost 3 but he began talking shortly after he started school.
Oooops:

He has started school. Pre-nursery precisely!!!

Oh well it doesnt need to be reading, necessarily

You can just talk to them, sing to them or do something that lets them see you talk

My dad still reads folk stories and native poetry to me whenever I see him lol nothing American about it. He has been doing that since I was very small

At 18 months It's not must he should be talking, If he is 4 and humming then his mother should be worried.

but to be on a safe side, perhaps you are right, a peadiatric needs consulting.

Why?? Parents should know the risks involved when it comes to vaccinations. Right now WHO and other World Organizations are trying to sterilize African babies and children via vaccines and prevent them from having babies in the future. Should I hide that information?? Do you work for them??

Can you please provide some evidence for this claim?

You are disseminating claims that may scare people from getting essential vaccines and children will die and become disabled because of it

There are risks, sure but there are risks to all medications

My daughter had similar issue and she overcame it. Every life with a follow-come manual, all that matters at this moment is to go back to the Owner's manual and ask exactly what He wants out of that child. The owner is God. Shalom!

Nothing is wrong with him. My Nephew started talking at 19th month and he will be 2 by November and he’s yet to work on pronunciation.

I had a first hand knowledge of this, so listen carefully- check whether the child has tongue-tie. If you dont know how to check it, seek the help of a nurse or go to hospital.

Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday claimed that at least 500,000 young girls and women may be infertile, following a tetanus vaccine administered by the government in 2014 and 2015.

While addressing the media in Nairobi, Odinga said girls and women aged between 14 and 49 from the fastest growing populations in the country will not have children, because of a state-sponsored sterilization exercise that was sold to the country as a tetanus vaccination.

Just use google. Many more examples.

Patience my dear. However, I will advise that you check his tongue if the lines under it is well cut or you have them checked at the hospital to be sure it's well cut. Cos its better to have it checked and cut properly when they are still a baby. Good luck
