abdulizom: Nobody advised her to cut his tongue. There is a medical condition called 'tongue tie', it is growth of soft tissue under the tongue and if a baby has it, it must be cut , else, the baby won't talk . my younger sis son had it. The nurses did not even notice it. It was when my younger sis who is a medical doctor went to circumcise the son that he saw the tongue tie. He ended up cutting the tongue tie and doing circumsition. I will advise the op to go to hospital and just check .If the baby does not have it, just put your mind at rest cos he will talk at the right time. Also, the more teeth a baby grows, the faster the baby will talk. 2 Likes |

kmcutez: "The aim of the vaccination campaign is to prevent neonatal tetanus in newborns who are the most vulnerable and bear the highest burden of tetanus disease. These children live in the parts of the country with limited access to health facilities — most births occur at home in unhygienic conditions. Some of the babies are born to girls as young as 15 years old from communities living in marginalized areas. Children born at home under unhygienic conditions are at risk of tetanus infection through the cut umbilical cord. Their mothers are also at risk of infection with tetanus infection during childbirth." "When the vaccines were tested in laboratories which used properly validated test systems, the results clearly showed that the vaccines did not contain hCG. The low levels of hCG-like activity seen in some samples were the result of false positive reactions. In fact, in a laboratory in Hungary, it was shown that the sterile water supply from the local hospital gave a higher false positive level of hCG than did the TT vaccine." 1 Like |

Oooops:You don't have any problem. My friend's baby started talking at age 2 years 11 months. We were worried like you, but the same week he began kindergarten, he started talking. He called everyone 'aunty' for the rest of that month, including his mum 1 Like |

kmcutez: But I still agree with you that there may be something sinister going on, I just prefer for there to be actual evidence rather than just scaring people. We dont have adequate health facilities to deal with resurgence of crazy diseases because people listen to rumours and start panicking. if people stop vaccinating it will be a disaster |

Your worries are understandable. But your child is OK. My friend's child is 2years just talking now. We were all worried initially like you are though. What you needs is patience, engage and communicate to him always. Play children video for him. |

Oooops:His condition will improve with time but pls take that child to see a pediatrician at a general or teaching hospital. It's not normal for him not to be talking at that age... Atleast mama or daddy.. The earlier the better |

My sis too thought her son of 2yrs and some month too had issue with talking but really nothing was wrong with him, he is just a slow talker. But from 3 years he started calling names etc. Even now at 10years he is a perfect gentleman with how he compose his words, he just never in a hurry. You baby is fine. Enrol him in Creche. 2 Likes |

Cumtroller: You must joking, shioor Some children generally do not talk early, our second born talked before our first born. They are exactly 1 year apart. My mom said she actually thought my brother was mute but at age 2 plus, he began to talk while my sister talked before 1 year 2 Likes |

I really don’t think there’s anything to be worried about. Some boys are late starters but by the time he picks, you’ll be the one telling him to shut up or slow down. If you are worried though, then I’d recommend you see a pediatrician so they can conduct tests on him. 1 Like |

Madam don't be worried. My kids don't talk early. Two years we still dey use sign language. Hehehe. But brilliant, they start writing 1, 2, 3 at age 2 and count and asign numbers to ojects. I have a stupid friend who tried to make me feel bad but that I never bordered. My kids start talking well at 3. Academically sound and will name almost all the animals, write 1 to 20 without asistance and count from 1 to almost 100. Whereas her own who talk from the womb can't do half of what my kids do. Omo, let your son be. Let him grow at his pace, don't compare kids. 3 Likes |

Do not worry yourself much about this. Has he started going to school ? If no plz make sure you enroll him asap. He needs to mingle with kids like him and also you him speech therapy to help him more. This happened to my twin brother's son. He started saying words after 2year old. |

/ Put a hidden cam in his room. He may be talking. Perhaps he is only keeping malice for birthing him in Nigeria. I don't blame him. Have you considered mother-child counseling to resolve your differences? / 1 Like |

Oooops: Be patient bro! There's nothing wrong with your precious child.. My first daughter gesticulated and hummed for 2.5 years.. She's 7 now and is the brightest most eloquent 7yr old I've met.. She was diagnosed with ADHD but we managed it and coupled with a good school.. Yours will be fine.. 1 Like |

kmcutez: Yes my friend. Let's hope you are wrong though. The Measles mumps rubella vaccine normally given at 12 months has been implicated by some researchers to trigger autism spectrum disorder. In Europe it's given even earlier. I pray with the OP that the little one begins normal speech soon In the meantime, other steps can be taken to stimulate his brain to make him talk. Enrollment in a crèche with other children is a great decision . |

Woman you have nothing to worry about. It took our last born 2 years, but forget it, she is in JSS1 now, she always come back home with written letter from her class teacher..... She talks more than any other person in there class, she is so stubborn and it's even affecting her academically. I personally thought my sister will grow up been a stutter |

Try this simple trick: go on a travel. If you find the chance on a holiday, travel to another place and stay for at least 2 weeks. The change in environment stimulates children's mental growth. My 2 kids each started to talk when my wife went on holidays to her parents' place from Anambra to Ogun State. We noticed that with our 1st child, and then confirmed it with our 2nd, on separate occasions. 1 Like 1 Share |
