Sorry I made a mistake I didn't properly read the news it said South Africa's overall gdp is 297 billion dollars and Johannesburg is 105 billion dollars, cape Town is 85 billion dollars and Durban is 70 billion dollars. I can show you the images of the reports of lagos's gdp no one is believes the reports the Nigerian government makes so calm down

According to quartz another American newspaper lagos's gdp was 90 billion in 2014 and is now 136 billion dollars this year there is no need to be angry ust because our gdp is higher than yours okay

And we're not the ones doing the cooking it is your power minister who went ahead and did all the cooking of percentage of people connected to the national grid but it was all a lie its fine there is no need for the lies, anger and sadness okay.

In 2014, the GDP of Nigeria was $568 billion, currently, the GDP of Nigeria is $375 billion. You're saying the GDP of Lagos was $90 when that of Nigeria was $568 and now it is $136 when that of Nigeria is $375. Are you trying to say the GDP of Nigeria shrunk while that of Lagos expanded? Dude, don't just believe everything you read on blogs because it alligns with what you want to believe in.

We have presented evidence. For example no way Nigeria agricluture which is 1/5-1/4 of your GDP is worth 100B - that would be bigger than Brazil or Indonesia or name any big boys agricluture with 2-4 times Nigeria land size, more advanced agricluture and with ships now on high seas with all sort food.

It easy to tell when someone is cooking GDP. You oil production is the same with Angola and Algeria - around 2m barrels per day - you cannot claim it bigger than Algeria in GDP.

We can go sector by sector...but try use the search functions first.

Abohboy:

Where is your evidence that he cooked the GDP statistics and you know very well that most people do not trust Nigeria they made sure to do an investigation into our gdp so you do not believe that it went from 500 billion all the way down to 396 billion after a recession that is 104 billion dollars in lost revenue yet he is cooking up the information.

Lagos is a city that does not depend on the federal government for money so they were able to survive and grow their economy whilst majority of the states rely on the government so they went down in growth whilst Lagos had a growth rate of 4% the rest of Nigeria was basically negative
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp20182: 1:56pm On Oct 24, 2019
Lagos still get the largest share of federal (oil) money. Obviously Lagos ambitious budget is nothing compared to 77B Joburg with revenues of 8.7B dollars.

Clearly you are too stupid to understand no where does it say agriculture accounts 100 billion dollars it says agriculture accounts for 48 billion dollars stupid illiterate child please do not try and talk about what you do not understand

Nigeria has a massive banking sector as well as telecommunications and entertainment, nollywood makes about 10 billion dollars for Nigeria, banking we have a lot of massive banks and some are registered on the London stock exchange like gtbank and zenith bank and gtbank has stores all around Africa including Kenya same for zenith bank

Telecommunications Glo company is a massive telecommunication company in Nigeria which have started their expansion into East and Central Africa.

As you can see it is not just oil that we depend on that is why our gdp is so high if you search Nigeria gdp it talks about how Nigeria has the largest manufacturing sector in Africa check if you want to

So Kenyans shut up do more research before you try and argue or talk down about Nigeria

No it doesn't Lagos definitely depends on itself for majority of their money you Kenyans are just sad when we showed you the actual evidence and news reports of how your power minister was cooking up lies you went silent now I am asking you show me a fact and evidence otherwise this conversation is over.
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp20182: 2:41pm On Oct 24, 2019
I see you're resorting to insults because you cannot counter facts.
1) Agriculture makes anything 20-23% of Nigeria GDP - that is roughly 80-100B - or more - depending on the mood of Yemi Kale. That is the exaggeration of the century. You import I think nearly 20B of food - before we factor those that get smuggled.
2) Nigeria Financial & Intermediation sector is not huge. Huge is what South Africa have - from banking, insurances, pension, capital market. Nigeria financial sector is about twice kenya - we have covered banking total assets - Nigeria stock market (caps/turnover) - insurance/pension.
3) Nigeria's oil sector is the same size as Algeria - although Algeria has bigger gas sector.
4) Nigeria's telecommunication sector is not huge. It's about twice Kenya. I think last I checked Glo/MTN/Airtel annual revenues serving 140m customers was 8B dollars. Safaricom - with value of 12B ( I think bigger than Dangote) - has annual revenues of 2.5B dollars. We still haven't added Airtel/Telkom/Equitel.
5) Nigeria's wholesale & retail sector is undeveloped. It's largely informal. South Africa are big boys. Kenya are following strongly with formalization more than 30%. Your total mall space - entire Nigeria - is not even near Nairobi mall spaces.
6) Nigeria's Nollywood/Music is crap. Revenues are tiny. Not even 500M dollars - where you get crazy 10B dollars from - god knows?. About twice kenya's revenue in entertainment secor. Kenya has bigger advertising sector for example.
7) Nigeria's manufacturing is also crap outside beer & food (cassava) processing. No manufacturing can happen without reliable electricity.
cool Nigeria public service is also crap...you gov budget is so tiny...I think Kenya now has bigger budget...more gov revenues.
9) There is nothing to write home about your utilities - electricity, water & sewage, and garbage collections - basically non-existent.

When 'cooking' allegations were being made - kenya power had like 2M customers - they are now approaching 8M - in a country with 10-11m household. As you cry kenya is rolling universal electricity access.

We are now connecting maasai and turkanas living in remotest of places to electricity grid. And a very reliable grid that is - even South Africa are yet to reach this level of rural electrification.

Kenya is a very progressive nation....

This is just Yesterday - our Deputy President. · Witnessed the connection of the homesteads of Mzee Kiok and Mzee Pesi to the power grid under the Last Mile Connectivity Programme at Sekenani, Narok West, Narok County. #RutoMashinani

Inspired choice. Peter Ndegwa headed EABL before going to head Guiness Nigeria and Ghana - and has been Head of Operation in Daegeo Europe - managing 50 countries.

These are fruits of kenya investment in quality education. He is not a diasporian like most Nigerians who can think are - this is homegrown talent.

Nearly all multinationals in kenya now hires local talent as CEOS - something they cannot do in place like Tanzania - where speaking even English is still rocket science.

In 2013 - Kenya was like Nigeria - In Ease of Doing Business - at position 129 - now we are position 56. Now firmly 3rd in Africa just below super-efficient Mauritius(11 globally) and very serious Rwanda(29)

Thanks to current leadership led by Adan Mohammed & Ruto - young nimble leaders - while Nigerians are electing dying leaders one after the other.

There has been an astronomical effort in improving, accelerating and augmenting Kenya’s economic prospects through pro-business policies and programmes.

The joint conception of competitive business environment, the bedrock to attracting investment, generating jobs and wealth, is key for the progress of the country. In this vein, the Government has made deliberate undertaking to position Kenya as Africa's manufacturing and technology hub.

As a product of this push, Kenya was ranked 56 globally out of 190 countries, emerged first worldwide in the Protecting Minority Investors indicator and 3rd in Sub-Saharan Africa.

To further make Kenya the preferred gateway to the continent for investors, we must adopt a radical and progressive stance in reforming our business and regulatory environment. Intensified collaboration between the Government, development partners and the private sector will firmly drive this cause, and help in rewriting the economic trajectory of our people.

During the launch of the Doing Business in Kenya 2020 Report, Nairobi County.

GTB is charging your interest rate of 21%. That is not cheap. That is damn expensive.

And regarding all other commodities, Ghana export plantain to both cote devoire and Burkina Faso and at the same time coconut. regarding, garlic , you must be stupid , Ghana even had value to its garlic product....garlic is produce in abundant in Ghana North and available everywhere. When it comes to matter of exportation of agriculture product to Europe zone, you stupidly need to check statistics, Kenyans may even help us here, Ghana export more agricultural product to Europe than Any west African state

Below is the picture of Ghana value added product of garlic

Ghana Kenya and Botswana their citizens are progressive people which produce. Nigerian citizens are consumers which just consume and making noise when their stomachs are full. Nigeria is the fifth largest importer of food in the world. Benin Republic exports over 5 billion US dollar or products every month to Nigeria

Ghana's oil is a better target than the Nigerian one. Because the oil is done on a certain percentage per barrel we go to the government which is more accurate and more fair. Now on the Nigerian one only when the oil is exported it will be paid for nnpc will come with its own figure the oil exporter will come with their own figure they will sit down on the table and now start arguing how much must be paid to the government of Nigeria look at royal Dutch Shell. And also some Nigerians which have oil blocks which had paid nothing to the government in 5 years. Ghana is way more efficient than Nigeria when it comes to is System Of A structure. Nigeria's oil payment to the government is very difficult to understand and even impossible That's Why some countries will not remit anything to Nigeria for 5 years.

Yes Ghana exporters lots of cocoa with Ivory Coast. Nigeria in 60s was one world's largest exporter of palm oil - actually from 18th century - but all that is gone done the drain. Bostwana obviously has the best beef industry in Africa.

When Nigeria palm industry recovers - I will now they are serious.

Despite bear run at NSE - Safaricom is valued at 11-12B dollars.
