@JoyceVince, Congratulations. Enjoy the Great Southland. @Quinhade, Use the ANZSCO job descriptions. If you align your job descriptions with that of ANZSCO, you will be fine. 1 Like |

kwenu: Use bow & arrow effect. For you to go forward, you have to move back first to take off. My own idea was birthed since 2015; got rejected for study and have now graduated in Naija. If they don't want me as an Immigrant, they will have to accept me as one of them. Use study route. They said a couple of years of experience in some occupation can get you positive outcome, but I for 0ne believes that you have to tender something. At all-at all. |

Good day house, its been a great pleasure reading through the previous pages, and i must confess that its been tremendously encouraging and educative, may God take us all to our promise land. Please I am confused about my situation and i will appreciate some inputs. I have HND in Science laboratory tech, and i've worked with one FG laboratory for the past 10 years, although i started as an office assistant, but i went back to school for my OND after which i was promoted to the level of an assistant lab technologist 5 years ago. After completing my HND, i was given promotion to the cadre of a lab technologist just last year. Now my point of confusion is, can I assess as a lab technologist/scientist using my 5 years experience as an assistant lab technologist, or i should just opt for my 1year + experience as a lab technologist. * Note that the job specifications are not very different just that, as an assistant i was assisting the technologist in all lab work. please i'll appreciate any help i can get as am thinking of pitching my tent with the 491iers. |

Good morning my people. I'm in a dilemma concerning work documentation. My first work experience was in a one man business but it was also in my field of study. I was there for three years but was paid in cash all through my time there. Which supporting documents do I need to tender. Bear in mind that I have an appointment letter. Please I'll be glad if anyone can put me through. Cc bellong |

gracelarry: I believe that there's finance in the skill select and it is in Short Term Occupation List (STOL)/(ROL), and only available for 190 sponsored or so. You should go through Anzsco search to study about it more. If it will be tough, you might aswell look into Canny route. You have a chance |

timbertown4: I love this. Those regional areas are quite amazing. Imagine calling Newcastle, Gold coast , Sunshine coast and Geelong regional areas. Those places are as amazing as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. I think I will prefer those regional areas walai. The good thing about this visa 491 is that; one is not restricted to one region. This means, one can decide to move to any regional area of any state as far it is not Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. This is more than amazing! |

491 owns the point as it is designed to push those who can’t reach the basic 65 to the regional areas. If the point apply across others, the general point would change from 65. There are several people within that are hanging on student visa at 60points, so they are trying to make it easier for them while they move to the regions Mcslize: |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 3:04pm On Oct 27, 2019 |
aaffluent: You are right. They are trying to push people to the regional areas that is why visa 491 comes with 15 points when nominated. The addtional 10 points that is based on your marital status is constant and it applies to the 3 major visas. There is a point that has been introduced/assigned to your marital status whether single or married which is the 10 points. As far as you have a partner that had assessed his/her occupation and have a competent English, you won't say you can't claim the 10 points simply because you are applying for 190 and not 491. You get? I do believe that's what you are trying to say. I still stand with the fact that it is not only those applying for 491 that can claim applicants marital status points; the 10 points. That's not true to the best of my knowledge. The 10 points is constant and it's across board. As far as you meet the criteria to claim it, irrespective of whichever visa you are applying for, you can always claim it. It is not introduced only for 491. The only thing that may occur will be pushing the minimum points from 65 to 70 which the 10 points already catered for. 2 Likes |

magnolia4, Modified: What was your job role for the period of five years? What exactly did you do in the lab? Your reply will attract the right answer to your question. However, I think you can apply as a Medical Laboratory Technician not scientist.

Thanks, it is a science analytical laboratory and my job specifications include but not limited to analysis of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, industrial samples, sample and data collection, writing reports and so on. And like I said, I was an assistant Laboratory officer before being promoted to a science officer last year. The only difference is in the job title First, we don't know which of the lab you referring. We have different lab jobs. Is it a Medical lab or Engineering lab that you worked in? What was your job role for the period of five years? What exactly did you do in the lab? Your reply will attract the right answer to your question. [/quote] |

Mcslize: Yes the new point system cuts accross all the visa class. 10pts Marital status points also cuts accross. However ITA points will go up even they still peg base point at 65 (although this is likely to go to 65/70/75 ....491/190/189 |

Amaragold: Can you list your job titles chronologically and years you spent on each role. Oil and gas is a wide field..you need to state specifically what your hubby does in this sector what month is your husband 40th birthday cos 39 is a borderline age in the point system? |
