A stalwart of the ruling party, APC in Abia state, Chief Anyim Chinenye Nyerere has stated that the welfare of the South Easterns is better protected under President Muhammadu Buhari's administration in the last four years than the 16 years the PDP ruled Nigeria.

He also dispelled allegations of total marginalization against the region.

The politician revealed this on Thursday in a chat with ABN TV in Abuja.

He emphasised that with the high positions the South East occupied during the PDP administration, the region was not better for it.

“Under PDP, the Igbo had the coordinating minister for finance, we had the Chief of Army Staff, we had the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. At one time, we had the Senate President of this country and the Speaker of House of Representatives but what did that translate to the Igbo nation? What was the impact of these big names” he queried.

He continued, “The Enugu/Port Harcourt road became a death trap. The Enugu/Onitsha road was more or less a farmland at the express road, the second Niger bridge was a mirage, in terms of infrastructural development, we were totally forgotten when our brothers and sisters were occupying sensitive positions” he stated.

Was traveling to the east the other day and before i got to my destination, nothing less than 50 police checkpoints. no other region has such number checkpoints than the south east and we know who the real terrorists are. Travelling to the north or south west u can hardly see such number of checkpoints harassing the commuters.

I forgot that we should also give him our unreserved gratitude for the good job he is doing on Aba to portharcourt road that he n his contractors have turned to swimming pool, imagine a federal road contract,were contractors use shovel to level sand having not more than four construction equipment on site. I don't even want to remember east west road that some people have already started running canoe business or should I talk abt onitsha to owerri road? Where will I stop if I continue counting?? Igbos deserve a slot at the presidency, only then would they applaud Buhari.

I strongly support an Igbo presidency or vice...

But this Biafra that they are shouting upandan is what is making us scared about their presidency; would they be out for revenge rather than work? Would they still nurture the Biafra dream and foster a disintegration rather than leave when the tenure elapses?

Igbos should forget Biafra (at least for now) and unite, this is truly their time...

It's all very nice, but let's be fair....many Igbo want restructuring(and even laws guaranteeing the right to seccede peacefully)....and it is the government's failure to give them restructuring that is fuelling most of the anti-APC anger

Add the fact that many Igbo backed PDP....and still do. APC isn't going to appeal to them.

How about railways?

This is nothing but the absolute truth.

It is interesting and vital to note here that the PDP which many wailers still proudly support and adore was in power for 16 solid years and in those years there were 4 Presidential Inaugurations and on none of those was an Igbo man found worthy by the PDP of even Vice Presidency and we are still bold to say it is the APC that has barely finished one tenure that doesn't want to give power to Igbos. Odi nma.
