Man spends 33 days in jail just for calling someone on phone in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

LOOK AT ME. AFTER SPENDING ONE MONTH AND THREE DAYS IN THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE MONITORING UNITS (I. G. P) CELL PORT HARCOURT. NOW HEAR MY TRUE STORY. I ASKED FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM A BROTHER IN THE LORD THAT WORSHIPPED IN THE SAME LOCAL CHURCH WITH ME TO IMPROVE ON MY BUSINESS AND HE PROMISED TO ASSIST ME IN A WEEK TIME BUT WHILE WAITING FOR THAT WE MEET ON THE ROAD AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE WANT TO ESTABLISH A DRIVING SCHOOL BUSINESS AND ASKED IF I CAN MANAGE IT AND I TOLD HIM TO GIVE ME TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT AND AFTER ANALYSING IT WITH MY FAMILY I CALLED TO GIVE HIM FEEDBACK BUT HE TOLD ME THAT HE IS NOT AROUND AND THAT WE SHOULD MEET IN THE CHURCH ON SUNDAY . BUT ON SUNDAY BEFORE WE COULD ME I HEARD THAT HE LOST HIS VEHICLE AND AS A BROTHER , I FELT CONCERN AND LATER MET WITH HIM IN WHICH HE TOLD HOW HIS CAR WAS SNATCHED AND MY REPLY TO HIM WAS THAT GOD WILL HELP YOU TO RECOVER IT. HOWEVER, ON MY OWN , GOD THAT MADE HEAVEN EARTH IS MY WITNESS THAT I WENT TO MY CHILDREN CHURCH ALTAR WITH MY TWO KNEES AND ASKED GOD TO HELP HIM TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE BUT TO THE SHOCK OF MY LIFE AFTER A MONTH, I WAS ARRESTED AND TOLD THAT I WAS THE LAST PERSON THAT CALLED HIM BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS SNATCHED AND THAT I CALLED TO MONITOR HIM. THE PEOPLE OF GOD THAT IS MY STORY. BUT MY JOY TODAY IS THAT GOD IS MY SIDE BECAUSE HE A GOD OF JUSTICE AND NOBODY HAS EVER DEFEATED HIM AND I CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED BECAUSE MY HAND IS CLEAN. PEOPLE OF GOD CONTINUE TO PRAY WITH ME BECAUSE MY ENEMY IS STILL FIGHTING.

The problem is that the Nigerian police force are so useless that they'd arrest this guy because he called the victim on phone,they'd arrest the last lady the victim slept with,they might even go ahead to arrest the waiter in the last eatery the victim went to for a meal..


do you noticed that when there is a robbery somewhere and they found a missing I. D card, wallet,phone,atm card or even a piece of jewelry around the vicinity,nigerian police will arrest the owner of that missing item and they'll gladly termed him/her the robber,they'd stop investigation immediately?

That's to show how worthless the so-called Nigerian police force is. A lot of innocent people are in their custody.

The Nigerian police is as useless as the P in Psychology, No proper investigation all they do is to just find a scapegoat that they'll bill.

What the police did on the guy is called risk 'assessment'. The only problem i have with what they did is the time they spent doing their job on him. Being the last caller before the vehicle was snatched virtually makes him a suspect, though putting it to him directly that he called to monitor the vehicle owner is wrong. Unfortunately, a lot of Nigerians don't know the law, let alone channel complaints to the right quarters.

You are a person of intrest in a possiible homicide / kidnaping / roberry case, you were the last seen with the victim, so police should just let you go without thoroughly investigating you?

Majority of people going to church go there to show off, or for going sake & to please their pastors. Not to worship God, because i know many of these church goers don't fear God & obey his commandment. How can u worship what u don't respect...

In Nigeria I guess 30% of the prisoners are innocent. I have see so many harassment before, I just to make police my friends

A wealthy woman once threatened to lock a guy up and forget him there in a cell for some days for doing nothing in my area and she did just that. Just pray that God continue to keep you safe. Nigeria police is messed up big time. They seldom do investigations unless they really really want to, their modus operandi is lock people up or beat someone up so that eventually when he or she can’t take the beating anymore he/she will confess to something he’s not guilty of.

I remember how my friend was detained in SARS office for 3 months because a customer asked that he help him install a device he purchase from their store in his home. Armed robbers visited the house some days later and my friend who visited the house a few days earlier for the installation automatically became a suspect according to nigeria police logic, even a plumber who went there to do a plumbing job became a suspect too. This country is a silly joke.

The police would not budge because they've seen greater denials that turned out to be crocodile tears.

Nigeria is not ripe enough to be a country. This man might start thinking his friend is a wicked person, not knowing it is the useless police force that is useless and completely foolish. This man should sue those useless bastards. But as money no dey now, e get as e be..

Useless police wey no know their work..Sue them. We would have to keep suing them till they learn. What if na falana the man call last, so them go arrest the lawyer? Or them go arrest pastor or them go arrest politician? Na cos them notice say this man no get voice...how can you arrest somebody for more than one month, you no charge am go court...
