The impact,popularity,cgi etc... there has never been any show like GOT.
the storyline might have gotten weaker in the final seasons but season 1-6 dwarfs any storyline of any show......

Game of thrones was overhyped because of fucking_ dragons..
The storyline of breaking bad only got stronger form the very first season till the end.. I can literally watch breaking bad from season 1 all over again.. But can't do the same with game of throne.
Game of throne was popular because of the budget, CGI, marketing, advert.. There was nothing really special about the storyline.. Messed up storyline that was hard to follow after every season.

Grey's Anatomy S16 Ep5

I am beginning to hate the story line for Meredith, like what happened to the world class surgeon she is? And why is Shonda so hell bent in throwing her in jail. undecided like i don't get. This new story line for her is rubbish. Let's get back to her being an amazing surgeon and living happily ever after (Must bad things always happen to her??) And when will the transplant surgeon comes back into the picture and confesses his unending love? I am not feeling this season yet, honestly.

I just started seeing breaking bad. Have heard so much hype about it. But the first parts of season one I have seen so far [episodes 1 to 4] are not entirely worth the hype. I'll rate it 5/10.

I get that this might be a very hugely unpopular opinion. But that's my take from what I have seen to far.


Or are other parts of the movie better than the first 3 episodes? Or could be due to my taste in movies

Yea, I also found breaking bad difficult to get into. S1 was actually boring , but it was important to the whole story. Once Gustavo came on, the series really picked up pace and got better every season. The final season is Top 5 all time series seasons for me.

GOT has a fantasy setting, therefore CGI is required. Abi, do you know of any dragon poultry?
Breaking Bad has a realistic setting. Almost no CGI requirement.
GOT was also all about the story. The quality of the storytelling just started dropping from season 5 while Breaking Bad, as I've heard, kept upping the anté in storytelling up to the final season.

Breaking Bad has a realistic setting. Almost no CGI requirement.

The problem with CGI is that it usually doesn't age well. So a few years down the line, the effects look horrible. I had that experience watching spiderman 2.also, watch the first toy story. Groundbreaking, but it now looks absolutely horrible.

That's why id4 looks good to this day. Na practical effects. Surprisingly large parts of t2 also hold up.

I have a "dragon poultry" in my backyard..all they should have done was asked me.. Been keeping it a secret from the government tho.

Look it simple.. Without CGI no game of thrones.

Thanks so much, I Sluggishly concluded breaking Bad season 1. I watched the series for roughly a month before concluding it.

BB is one of the most hyped movie, or maybe my expectations go way too much about the movie.

lol... I was so afraid to say that about breaking bad.. Because I was certainly expecting backlashes! Guess I found a soft landing after all. I'll try season 2, if things don't start pumping adrenaline into me.. Well am out.

That's kinda impossible as I have called so many shows that I called the GOAT after watching them grin . But typically the best series for me should include; The Wire, Rick&Morty, BB, GoT, The Sopranos etc....

His meth became really popular because its really pure, Therefore Heisenberg kinda became a 'brand'. Walter planned to get a specific amount of money and then retire. But things got complicated, plus he slowly became obsessed/in love with the brand/making meth. The events in S1, from episode 1, kind of set of a butterfly effect chain of events. Everything kinda came together in S5, culminating at what is now known as the GOAT episode (S5E14) . You really should watch it.

Only breaking bad fans continue to delude themselves with this narrative...
In reality GOT is on another level..
Cinematography, CGI,fun, acting, storyline is more broad than breaking bad..etc
For me there is no comparison

And without CGI, Avatar wouldn't have topped the highest grossing movie for a longtime before overthrown recently.

Whether CGI or not, you have to have a good storyline to back it up, else twill fail.

Without CGI, we wouldn't have gotten a lot of classic movies and series.

The thing with CGI is it get outdated pretty fast.. Have you seen star wars and star trek of the early eighties and nineties? I'm sure you can't sit down through it today.

Same with Merlin..Merlin was the shit back in the days.. But now I look at it and I realize how lame it is.. even Legend of the seeker.. 10 years from now Game of thrones will be in the same whatsapp group with Merlin.. It will be old..and people won't be able to watch it.. Wonder why series like prison break and breaking bad still get praises today it because the stroline is forever strong and won't ever get outdated because of what would be term bad CGI..
