What shall it profit a player if he shall gain the whole money (by making "big money" moves, signing huge endorsements, getting fat contracts) and not getting noticed in international football? Dominic Iorfa |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 10:30am On Oct 26, 2019 |
If/when Iorfa starts making waves in the championship the whole narrative will change. The truth is things are getting better now for him. Let’s see how the story continues. The goal for any national team should be not to field/want players that are not performing. When they start performing they begin to have OPTIONS, they are spoiled for choices. Clementoke: |

This are the words of Joe Aribo while still at Charlton and guess what?. His contract was coming to an end and he probably doesn't know what the future holds but he still wanted international football more than anything else. Arsenal-Linked Midfielder Aribo : I Am Definitely Open To Playing For Nigeria Charlton Athletic young star, Joe Aribo has not excluded the possibility of representing the Super Eagles in the near future but has maintained that he has not been approached by the Nigeria Football Federation. Born in Camberwell, London, Aribo has no representative caps for England teams and doesn't have to apply for a one-time change of association before playing for the Super Eagles. The 22-year-old is widely regarded as the best modern day midfielder of Nigerian descent in the whole of England as he possesses defensive and offensive qualities and can play all the positions in midfield. Aribo was contacted on Thursday afternoon to provide an update on his international future and everything is pointing to the fact that he has chosen Nigeria over England. The Addicks number 17 told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''I am definitely open to playing for Nigeria, I'd be happy to play. ''There has been no contact with the Nigeria Football Federation. I'll honour the invitation if I get a call-up.'' Aribo comes off contract with Charlton Athletic at the end of next month and is on the radar of Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester City. Source : All Nigeria Soccer Aribo for me, is an example of a serious player who knows what he wants, not all these other ones playing "hide and Seek" upandan. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Clementoke: Did you think if Aribo was playing for a high flying EPL team he would still want to play for Nigeria? I think no. To these little niggas ,Nigeria is an inferior when it comes to football. My anger is the deplorable state of our league if not I would prefer Kelechi Nwakali to stay in Nigeria and develop. Who is Eberechi Eze next to an inform Nwakali....by the, I dont like Eze style of play...he plays like a secondary school boy. Let him go to top league and dribble let's see. 1 Like |

OMANBALA1: That's not my point Sir If u observe the pattern of my post, you will observe that the comparison is between Aribo on one hand and Iorfa, and Eze (if owngoal reports about him is true) on the other hand. While Aribo wanted Nigeria and damned the consequences ("victimization by the English FA", forfeiting huge contracts and endorsement), the players on the other hand wanted the famous and monetary aspects of being an English International (which is not even sure). 1 Like 1 Share |

Clementoke: Aribo didn't "danm" any consequences. The English F.A didnt consider him a big talent that's why he was overlooked. All these other stuff you wrote up there is irrelevant. If the English wanted Aribo he would not be playing for Nigeria, period. 3 Likes |

Humility017: Either you are still in high school or youthful exuberance is leaving you with limited understanding. Why do you find it so hard to have a balanced weighted view of matters. Things are not always in black and white. Further perplexed with the depth of discourse that has been expressed here you still pack the ability to appreciate matters objectively. It's like you attended the lectures but didn't remember anything or understand anything. |

Blackpride101: I am not sure you intend to convey with the term lopsided. I presume you mean my objective fact based deductive opinion is weighted more towards Nigerian origin players in the UK. Facts Dominic Iorfa committed to playing for Nigeria when he was 18 then playing for England youth team. He said he would play for Nigeria when he is 23. This is established fact. His circumstances at the time, he was the among the most promising youth defenders in England. He was invited to train with the England first team. Established fact. He was playing with Wolves as teenager and was thier most promising player. Was a first team regular consistently and continously for 3 years. Once he had finished playing U21 for England and had his long term contractual future signed sealed and delivered. He then contacted the NFF and subsequently Rohr came to visit him in March 2017 when he was a first team regular for Wolves. Very strong commitments and promises were made by Rohr. In effect he has been more HONOURABLE by coming to make commitment 2 years earlier than promised. FACT established. Rohr made his recommendations very positively to the NFF. What did the NFF for with them absolutely nothing. ESTABLISHED FACT. Why have the NFF not invited Dominic ❓ We can speculate but ability is not the issue. We also know that his Father contested the presidency of the NFF and lost with multiple allegations of bribery against other contestants. There is an acrimonious relationship with the NFF and Iorfa senior on account of allegations of corruption. Factual based probable deduction. I have given a long epistle factual based on the unprecedented going on at Wolves with the take over and running of club by proxy by Portuguese super agent Mendes. The subsequent FA investigation, etc. Now consider your nonsensical proposition in bold that's ludicrous and puts you to public ridicule. "That if not good enough for England they are not good enough for the SE" Now look at your comments and sentiment based preferences and emotive led inferences. Now ask yourself who is being IRRATIONAL and LOPSIDED. If you don't know anything it's better to be quite and if you are wise learn from those who know on this thread. |

OMANBALA1: Well let's not forget he's truly a small boy, age wise and his game will mature as he ages. Let's pray he keeps his head down and also that he plays under a good manager that'll help him develop. How's Nwakali? Hope he's now a regular in his club. 1 Like |
