Same here, this my own na strong born again ooo, na so him drive me go park for kadunna to board transport to Enugu when I was evicted cos of hernia during SSC 44, he was the commander of 44 reference hospital kadunna then, he read one simple Proverbs verse of do not depend on your human understanding but to trust in God, I vex quite alright but he is very right cos I never knew umbilical hernia was that serious in army cos I never had problems with it thou.
Here I am again dssc 25 to try and it's going to be my last before I go and face my lecturing work.

Heard of commando crawl? something similar to what is obtainable in NYSC camp but more intense, also the kind of belt used in the military might bring discomfort to that region.

I thought it is a slight of lifting very hard weights that aggravates the hernia, crawling shouldn't affect the umblical region so much.

in terms of training and pt...there's no ssc or dssc..there's only the army! The same army..

Just finished analysing the specs of the Ezugwu MRAps though the finishing/aesthetics looks crude one thing is sure it will give troops a reasonable amount of protection compared to the light skin vehicles that litter the theatre of operations. It can withstand blasts from IEDs/small arms. The only problem will be agility and speed(subsequent versions will be thoroughly be improved upon after performance evaluation have being carried out).
Moving forward it's a good development for the army and the military in extension we hope funds will not impede further research which is one of the reasons the Igirigi series is still at its infancy stage after almost 5years it was developed.

You dont seem to remember me, even though i mentioned you in an "epistle" i posted here sometime ago. Well...

Umbilical hernia, like every other case of Hernia, is a weakness, collapse and outright abnormal opening in the abdomen, except that UH forms at birth and is mostly painless.

I recall you intimating me that you repaired yours almost immediately you left Kaduna. But do you remember your intestines moving into your navel when you cough, laugh, shout, sneeze or do anything that puts pressure on your abdominal wall, and you have to push it back in? And how you have to press your navel down while you do those things to prevent them from getting in? At times, the intestine refuses to go back in and that place becomes strong and sore?

Now, strangulation goes a little further - it happens when the blood supply to that part of the intestine gets cut off and you begin to experience excruciating pain. At point, it becomes a mortal emergency and has to be repaired immediately.

My point is, while there may be certain military training exercises that could aggravate the condition, it could just happen. It is an accident waiting to happen and i will personally advise anyone with UH to repair it immediately.

Poke your finger into your navel. If you notice any hole or flinch in mild pain, then you got it

I didn't forget, I've repaired mine and even sent pics of it here, like I said, I repaired it five days I left Kaduna, That my general uncle wanted to do it for me at 44 reference cos he is a consultant surgeon but I had exams to write therefore went to the East, it wasn't much of a deal cos I left the hospital same day I was operated and went on to finish my exam.
I was asking cos I did research on it to find out that whoever that have done such surgery is susceptible to having another occur that is the reason for my questions.
