i wonder why people still say toyota is better than its a big lie na those mechanic dey spoil honda becos it does not get fault easily. aside from ball joint would have been flawless and most people are guilty of the ball joint issue be mindful always try be careful with bumpy roads and also be careful when drifting or turning into junction dont turn the steering completely this will help reduce ball joint issue

Like OP said, everything boils down to maintenance culture and paying attention to every little sign from your cars. Maintenance doesn't mean when car is broken 1st b4 fixing alone, but no of Preventive Maintenance culture.

I have 3 Honda cars, none had ever disappointed me. That's simply because i take note of every sound and sign. Infact a ball joint will not just pull in one day without giving signs. Just that average Nigerians are not sensitive to the warnings.

You need to do routine / periodicinspection of your your cars and fix them before they get broken........

Why it doesn’t happen when one is on a top speed is what I don’t understand.

Yes all cars have ball joint issue but with Benz it actually gives u a strong sign eg yur steering becomes hard to turn unlike yur Honda

I think you will find that it is a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) not a Jeep.

Besides, Mercedes of nowadays are just for Fancy not for bad Roads, especially Nigerian bad roads.

You have generalised the whole issue. There are several culprits in this menance. Majorly are the Cv joints, and control arm ball joints. Honda's issue is control arm ball joint while generally vehicles faces Cv joint failure.
And mind you, Himda control arm that fails are majorly the one's with their bolts facing down which also have an upper control arm. If you've observed, Civic don't fail, most Acura's don't fail and any other that doesn't have its ball joint bolt facing down.

It happened to me once. I was driving a Honda Accord. I got to a stop sign, everything seemed ok until I was about to move forward and one of the front wheels gave in.

Oooh, you see what honda has caused? Honda just drove pass and this happened.

It's a know fact Honda got it wrong in her suspension parts for Accord in year 2003-07. Toyota did too. Earlier models of 4runner SUV were notorious for this. But they are not as stigmatized. Reasons being the Accord was the most popular Honda available in our third world country. So the name stuck.
