Sadiq Umar scored his sixth league goal in 10 games in his side's 4-0 win on Sunday. He now has 6 goals and 4 assists in the league.

Should be due a call-up soon. Let's see if he can make a case for himself to be Osimhen's Backup in the long run.


David Okereke also returned to the scoring books as already reported here. Meanwhile that was his 5th league goal in 11 League games in the Belgian Jupiler. He now has 5 goals and 1 assist in the league.

In form Queens Park Rangers forward Ebere Eze will get an invitation into the Super Eagles at the right time , this is according to a top Nigeria Football Federation official.

Eze has been in terrific form for the England Championship side so far this season and scoring couple of goals as well.

 

However the English youth international is now appear to be on radar of Nigeria Football Federation, having linked up with the Africans sometimes in the past.

 

Nigeria Football Federation official who pleaded anonymity revealed that , the player is under the watch list of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and urged him to maintain his impressive form in the Championship.

 

“Yes Ebere Eze is doing very well for Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in the Championship in England and it’s good news for us.

 

“Besides, he has come to the Super Eagles camp before when we went to play in London.

 

“Our scout knows him very well. Nigerians should not be too anxious and put him under undue pressure.”

 

“There is always space for a good player in a team, most especially like the team we are building at the moment. So the scouts are monitoring him, he’s known to us and we see how it goes.

 

“But you know a lot of young players have come into the team of late and it’s an ongoing thing.

In the end, it is his choice. This shows that a player can commit to you early but is likely to change his mind if things start looking up on thr club career front and he is yet to be capped by any nation officially.

But even at that, I prefer these foreign borns stating from the outset where their national team allegiance lie. If it is Nigeria, so be it. If it is England, then please stick to England no matter whether you are balling for Chelsea or Wycombe wanderers.

AFCON U-23: Okonkwo, Awoniyi lead foreign pros to Olympic Eagles squad

The camp of the Dream Team VII has been boosted by the arrival of more foreign pros as they prepare to defend the AFCON U-23 title they won in Senegal four years ago, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively confirm.

Expected among the foreign-based professionals are Taiwo Awoniyi who will flew into the country after he was an unused substitute for Mainz 05 in their 3-1 win over FC Koln with US based Orji Okonkwo also expected to hit the team’s camp in Abuja.

Other players expected in camp before the turn of next week are Russia-based Olabiran Blessing Muyiwa and Turkey-based Sincere Seth who has also been called up to boost the team’s defence ahead of the Championship.

The team already have the compliments of vice-captain Kelechi Nwakali who arrived earlier this week with Imama also hoping that more foreign lads will be released by their clubs to help the country in their quest for yet another continental title.

Ubani was poor in the last match. Jabbar was much better. Amoo has to start.

All the same, his chances will be limited in Brazil. Even Divine Nwachukwu will be considered first off the bench in the striking role.

Osimhen Allays Injury Fears, Ready For Super Eagles Vs Benin, Lesotho

Lille forward Victor Osimhen has allayed fears he could miss Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Benin and Lesotho as a result of injury, reports Completesports.com.

Osimhen sustained an abductor injury in Lille’s 3-O home win against Girondis Bordeaux on Saturday.

The 20-year-old was replaced by Loic Remy in 58th minute of the encounter.

The former Wolfsburg of Germany striker took to the social media to provide update on the injury.

”I’m fine, it’s just a minor injury issue, thanks brother,”Osimhen replied centre-back, Kenneth Omeruo who asked a question on the severity of the injury.

Osimhen has scored seven goals and recorded two assists in 11 league games for Lille this season.

The Super Eagles will host neighbours Benin on November 14 in their opening AFCON 2021 qualifying fixture and then face Lesotho in Maseru five days later.

Well if I were to choose between Pepe and Iwobi, I'd pick Pepe easily as I know what he can give when he fully adapts.
Dude has the most key passes and dribbles in the team. He is adapting very slowly but the talent is not in doubt.

They played a back 4 not a back 3. Adeniyi was RB, Etim played LB, Ikenna and Usman were the CBs

Tijani, Ojediran and Opeyemi were in the middle. Tijaji was deepest.

Said, Ubani, Olakunle were strikers.

I have seen reports of a back 3 but i watched the game multiple times, And it was clear to me that it was a back 4.
