I bought 200ha Dry Cell [ two pixies ] of new Luminous inverter battery Direct from the Company, But the battery did not last more than ten Month. which I see it as wasting of money

If I use it to power 32inch TV it does not last more than 45minute before it go off

Can someone explain what I don't no about Inverter Battery ?
Because am afraid of going for battery again, Why am thinking of going back to Generator

I noticed recently that when there is Nepa or generator power, the inverter outputs 220v but when there is no Nepa or generator power it outputs between 228 and 230v and this makes my laptop or phone malfunctions when connected to the inverter. Pls what could be the problem

If it is directly from their company, then i think that makes it easy as 10 months is still likely to be within warranty period and you can claim a redress.

On the alternative, are you sure you treated the batteries well, i.e do not deep discharge them and charge them appropriately at the expected charge current, charge voltage and float voltage? Did you add the two batteries to an already existing battery bank that you have been using before now?

Your bedside freezer shouldn't have a surge power of more than 500 Watts and a continuous of about 70 Watts at worst. But to be double sure, I suggest you seek for that info on the rating label usually stuck on the rear of the freezer. Refrigerators and the likes are best run on pure sine wave inverter.

I think a 600watts pure sine inverter should do the trick comfortably. Pointstores, two posts above seems to have that on offer.

I will advice you get yourself a good external charger. A 20 amp or 30 amp 12volt/24volt selectable external charger will suffice. Those chargers are good in that they have a wide range of working voltage (90VAC to 250VAC) therefore their performance are minimally affected by fluctuations in NEPA voltage. Plus some also have settings to help you achieve good equalization and even recover some dead batteries.

The prag inverter have un built voltage stabilizer that auto switches off the charging if and when NEPA current fluctuates, giving only power line straight to power the appliances. This lack of sustained charging is not sufficient to charge batteries.

I have one BTS stabilizer-inverter-charger combo built exactly like the prag series and it only charges the batteries conveniently only when plugged to generator because of the sustained voltage and current from the generator. It performs poorly with NEPA half current. But I now use a 20amp digital charger and have completely jettisoned the charging function of the inveter.

• Yes. I have mine permanently connected to the terminals on the battery and even with the mains to which it is plugged to always in the "on" position for times that the mains power comes on (although it is also plugged into the mains via a TV guard to protect it from electrical surges)
