It is irritating when national teams are turned into tribal affair. Go across Nigeria, you will see talents from every tribe and region.

let me hear word. There is no discrimination here but just obvious fact. If you were to select a team of basketball players to represent North America in an inter continental competition, where do you think most of the players will be seleted from? USA of course that's because they have a rich history in the game. Same can't be said of football. We all know exactly the region that produces most of the footballers in Nigeria. south east and south south. It's only a surprise to see the list full with yoruba and hausa names and considering the allegations of corruption levied against them before the competition commenced, It's just normal to raise an eyebrow. All of a sudden the south east and south south no long dominate soccer in Nigeria. We all have our strength as a Nation, we should exploit them instead of trying to fix round pegs in square holes. I repeat, if the selection process was transparent there is no way that list will be completely dominated by Yoruba and Hausa names in a game that we have seen the Igbos produce most of the talents. You can call me whatever you wish, that doesn't change a thing. Enjoy!!!

Oga talent can come from anywhere.

Hungary must have offended someone... They gave up their lead against Nigeria and lost.

Now again, they have given up a 2-0 lead... Chaaaaiii... They need to cry on Puskas and their ancestors for answers to this enigma.

They might be a bunch of good players in these regions but that doesn't mean that even one out of them can make the national team because there is good and there is exceptional.

I am suprised that no player from one of the best academies in Nigeria which is diamond FC based in umuahia don't have a single player in the team.

Taye Academy gave us Iheanacho.

How many players from the academy were in the last u-17 squad ?

Not again for Hungary

They are the architects of their own wahala. They completely stopped playing immediately they made it 2. Their approach was too negative and that only makes you a sitting duck in today's football.

We aren't talking about the location here...

Because diamond academy gave us Chukwueze doesn't mean they will always produce players for the national team... there are hundreds of football academies in this country

The boys did it once again.

They will keep proving bigots hiding behind their keyboards wrong.

Whether they end up winning the WorldCup or not, we can actually see real talents in this team.

They have already qualified from the group.

Hopefully, Manu will work on the defense which appears to be the main problem right now.

Do you mean because the North produced the highest numbers of Nigeria rulers, they are better
rulers than the South?

Is it not the same hypocrites like you that will tag anyone from the North occupying a sensitive position as a product of quota system?

I can see ethnocentrism is worrying you.

Now, let me educate you a little. The main reason those two regions produce most of the footballers today is simply because of the culture that permits their children play football. It's never because they are more talented than other regions whose culture and religion forbids or discourages them from playing football.

Because facts on ground shows that the few that were allowed to play from other regions, later became the best in Africa. Can you debunk this?

If we go by the ratio of number of players produced and numbers of players that became top players, considering the amount of players produced by those two regions your mentioned, they are not the most talented. Facts

However, you will have to agree that recently, some of these regions are allowing their kids play football. It's doesn't mean they are better than players from those regions.

Nevertheless, my submission doesn't in anyway vilify or glorify any group because I still maintain my egalitarian values that all should be given equal opportunity.

If we go by your comment in the bolded, about transparent process of selection.....what transparent process rejected Emmanuel Adebayor from playing for the Nigeria U17? ....what about David Alaba?

Mr, I am not against your view regarding Manu's selection but I am against your ethnocentric view that SE and SS are the most talented people in football in Nigeria. Fat lie.

We don't have that Isaac Success or Victor Osimhen in attack. That big and fast striker that will finish up opportunities for us. Then we also don't really have wingers apart from Amoo and even that one is also a midfielder at heart.
