If there is need for biometrics, IRCC will send you a biometrics letter be taken to the designated centre.
raylady:
Hi Guys, quick update; I had mentioned that i have valid biometrics with IRCC, i just got my MEP updated and my previous biometrics enrollment date has been updated as well. So, does it mean that i dont need to do another biometrics capture?

IRCC says you need to do another biometrics if you are between 14 and 79. Even if your previous one is still valid.
It's on their site and it appears to be policy.

Hey bro, I have a question as a lot of rumours going about these days.

so is it possible for someone to have 460 points for Canadian pr & not still get ITA? Someone told me he has been on this thing for 3 years with 460 & I'm really doubting his statement

From my own little idea o
1. It’s possible to have 460 points and not get ITA if the draw they did is above 460points
2. It’s not possible for someone with 460 points not to get ITA since 3years because even in this year, they’ve done CRS 459 and below.

Jehova El-PR has done me well.

I had to wait this long (get my COPR) to post because I had been using my real monicker to post here and as a Yoruba boy na, I gats wait for the soup to be ready before inviting neighbours to come and eat. I don’t want “sorry, your PPR has been cancelled” (GOD forbid)…hahahah cheesy

It is amazing how passionate and sold out I was to the nation called Nigeria, despite of her imperfection; I never stopped screaming “oh Nigeria, blessed are thou among nations, I believe in you”. From a tender age, I had been a Pro-Nigeria, my perspective on travelling out of the country was solely for vacations and academic pursuit. Never had it crossed my mind that I would once join the queue of those seeking a better and working governance and infrastructure in another man’s land. The fear of racism and being a second citizen kept my faith in Nigeria stronger and bigger than a mustard seed. My faith, a candle I thought would never born out.

So what happened? Who slapped sense into my medulla oblongata? Not the blood of JESUS but Uncle Buhari. After listening to all the stories of his adventure with Idiagbon in 1983 and further tasking google for some answers, he seemed like a man of integrity who I taught if giving a chance would transform the nation maybe not like in the days of Noah but at least like Singapore moved from a developing nation to a competitive one. Little did I know that our Uncle just wanted to come back to become Ajala travel all over the world.

I had been an ardent follower of Buhari since 2010, I voted for him in 2011(CPC) and went all out to not only vote him again in 2015 but heavily campaigned for him; personally designing flyers and convincing everyone that came my way why we needed to rid Nigeria of the corrupt incumbent and bring “SaiBaba”. This can be confirmed from my old post under this moniker, I remember joining the “I volunteer my street” trend to ensure Uncle Bubu gets in.

Oh YES! We did it, SaiBaba made it. It was like I made it to heaven; I foolishly expected a grade A performance from a grade F individual, I however take solace in the fact that he was the only option we had to stop (sorry I meant PAUSE) the corruption which had alarmingly become a competition amongst the elected, appointed and the employed individuals within the public and political space. We waited and waited for SaiBaba to at least form a cabinet, the economy was already groaning as FDIs were flying out like fighter jets flying into Syria. Uncertainty everywhere; permutation and computation of what the delay was never stopped changing, different assumptions, several economic model versions; SaiBaba budge not until November when the supposed nation transforming list was released but who made the list? Corrupt politicians with little or no technocrats at all. A list riddled with nepotism and further confirmed the fears of my mom that this guy you convinced me to vote will majorly appoint based on ethnical grounds and not competence. On sighting the list, I gave up and grudgingly joined the queue of Nigerians awaiting citizenship of “anywhere”.

I first heard of Express entry in 2013 from a senior colleague who just wrote IELTS. He shared the CIC site with myself and a fellow colleague (seat partner of life ) (I will call her Sistos for the purpose of this write-up). As project incline individuals currently working on IT projects at the time, Sistos and I audited the CIC website criticizing the look and feel and usability afterwhich we closed it. Abeg Nigeria go better, let’s face our work. If only we knew the site would become our second bible in a few years.

I had resigned in 2016 December and only communicated with Sistos via voice call and WhatsApp. Fast-forward to 2018 February, Sistos called saying “Ayobee! Remember that Canada gist XYZ shared with us years ago, one of my close friends got ITA within two days o, I think we should try this Canada thing. Gbam! Sistos, say no more. Oya gist me the process! As a badass researcher (project Management skill), she already asked Google all the questions a Nigerian would ask. She gave me what I needed to commence and voila, I “japa” from the “One day e go better” train and join Project Canada.

IELTS
Thank GOD, I was not following this thread when I started, I used more of google and random call to Sistos for clarifications. I wrote in May 2018 as I concluded “sebi, it is just English, gbagbeoshi, I will pass”. Based on that assumption, I requested for a day leave (Friday) to prepare for the test to be written on Saturday. My speaking was awesome, I registered with MOD. The interviewer ( a man) helped greatly with his eyes contact, gesticulation, random smile and laughter. That increased my confidence level and he had to send me out because it was so interesting I didn’t want to leave. LOL.

My preparation for the listening was a total disaster, when I googled listening module, all I saw was section A audio (usually a conversation between a prospective client and a representative), that was all I saw and thought Listening was all about. I was like, only this conversation? IELTS, you do die for my hand. Only to enter the hall and saw multiple option questions, Ori Iya mi o, temi bami o. I was destabilized when I saw more than section A kind of questions, while still reading number 1 of the multiple option question, the audio was already in question 5, Aiye mi oooooooo. Owo wo gbo o.

The result came out and I got R9 S7.5 W7 L6 (as expected).

Silly me was angry saying I spent a whole day, I can’t go through this stress anymore. I called Sistos (she was emotionless this time), Ayobami; go and re-register for IELTS. I was like, Sistos, I can’t go through that stress of spending a whole day at a test centre, I don’t mind paying for Ontario PNP. She was like “So wa alright? (Are you normal?)” common go and re-write jo. Sistos had spoken.

I sat for IELTS again in June, I focus only on listening as I concluded I had no issue with SRW. I heard BC uses personalized headpiece as against MOD’s speaker, I opted for BC. The interview was a woman, apart from her not being able to read the questions correctly, her iron and strict face did not help me at all. It was as if she was forced to interview me. No connection whatsoever but wetin concern me na at-least 7 points. Glory to GOD, result was okay. L8, R8, S7.5, W7

WES
I commenced my WES evaluation in March 2018, ACCA was quite fast; sorted within two weeks without paying any extra charge however, for Naija as per the winchy winchy and people must suffer before we get things done level, I spent over 50,000NGN through a trusted intermediary trying to get Laspotech to send my transcript. If not that I trusted my guy, I would have concluded he played Baba Ijebu or BetNaija with my money. After making the necessary payments and tipping those in charge, he kept going every other day, imagine from Abule-egba to Ikorodu, GOD bless my guy. We spent over 30,000NGN on transport fare.

After a while I lost interest due to Laspotech delay and also because I was in talk to earn an awesome destiny changing salary grin from one company that headhunted me LinkedIn. I was like “Let me just work for this company for one year and japa”, only for the company to tell me after months and perhaps 8th interview session that they can’t meet my salary expectation. The salary that I mentioned at the first interview and got my car bashed on one of my trips to the interview . Some companies ehn, I will not send the thunder. The badnews walked me back to continue this Canada waka.

After a while, the woman we paid to help fast-track the process for Laspotech gave my friend her number. Three months after, transcript never commot Laspotech gate not to talk of entering plane to meet WES in Canada. It got so bad that I had to call the woman hiding my number and forming accent that I was calling from Canada and saying “Ayobami may loss this opportunity if we do not get the transcript asap”. This scope only worked for two weeks as the truth was eventually revealed. 1, the woman did pay to Laspotech 2. Laspotech just changed the CGPA computation systems and printing of old transcript became a tall order. After waiting till October 2018 with no show from Laspotech, I wrote to WES to remove Laspotech’s HND and replace with The Polytechnic, Ibadan’s ND. That saved the day.

Fortunately for me, my guy at The Polytechnic, Ibadan sabi better people, though it was expensive paying for Certificate I already paid for in 2007 (25k), transcript (20k), Courier (I think 14k), Verification (5k). It was pricey but I got what I needed. WES electronic report dropped on February 6, next draw was February 20. I lost on tie breaking ground. CSR Draw 457.

I got ITA on March 6, and submitted my application March 23 then the wait started.

CSR 457

2 or more credentials - ACCA and ND (Ibdpoly)

NOC: Bank Sales Rep, Project Associate (Administrative Officer) and Finance Manager (Primary NOC)

IELTS L6 R9 S7.5 W7 – May 2018

IELTS L8 R8 S7.5 W7 – June 2018

WES February 6, 2019

ITA March 6, 2019

Biometric May 9, 2019

Emailed Erin 23/09, He responded 24/09

PPR October 10, 2019 (6months, 17days)

COPR October 29, 2019 (Approved exactly 7months, picked up 7months and 6days)

Back to my story.
My Sistos got her PPR within 40days in July 2018, as a Nigerian na; I tapped into the anointing/grace and started praying for 45days processing time (If I only knew my ministering angel was looking at me like “see this one, you go wait for 7 months mehn).

The wait was killing, several times I lost my mind and found it. I never stopped asking Ay! Maybe because you used a plain paper reference signed by your Manager, Maybe because you only provided 11 samples of your payslips for a 5 years work at company ABC Abi I have travelled before I never knew? The statutory questions, did I answer them correctly? I remember calling one of my siblings “Egbon, you don travel before and you no tell me, dem not refuse you visa?” All kinds of irrelevant questions kept me awake at nights.

Yeh! Ayo! Remember you updated your profile on the day of the draw only to see that it was updated but the update was not submitted. Could that be the cause of this delay? Oh LORD! Help me.

After a month of waiting, I realized I had used the wrong NOC (business consultant) instead of Administrative Officer as my Job title was Project Associate. I raised a web form in form of a love letter requesting to change from Consultant to Administrative Officer.

One morning, I googled myself and saw some of the volunteer work I did and also my side hustle, instead of trying to clear them of the internet, I just raised a web form stating I mistakenly forget to disclose my volunteer experience. I drafted a table using Excel and attached it. I learnt the act to first tell the VOs how you appreciate what they do and how cooperative you will be if they need any information from LadyMarshal. My Three web forms started with these intros and I also told them I did not mean to increase their workload with my enquiries but it was imperative I raised it. Lest I forget, I also reminded them that my colleagues that have landed never stopped telling me how great their country is and I would love to experience it too, hence whatsoever information you need, I am more than willing to provide…hahahahahha

I emailed Erin and raised the third webform when I clocked 6 months, Only Criminality passed, others not started however; the day Erin replied, I noticed someone from Government of Canada checked my Linkedin profile in anonymous mode. From another auto-response I got, I noticed an agent also send a complaints on my application to the VOs that my due date July had passed and nothing had been done (I suspect the agent Erin engage raised that note on my behalf – an assumption). 17days after, my eligibility was passed, Security completed and PPR dropped. Too bad Our Erin lost in the last election.

Points to Note
- Understand the process and when you make any genuine mistake even post AOR, do not over-worry and increase your BP. Worry small and raise a web form stating the mistake and provide the accurate information with the closing remark that you are available to provide further clarifications if required.

Case in Point
While filing ACCA on WES page, I inputted UK as the country of study innocently. When I was filling the EE form post ITA, I filed the same UK, only for the system to request PCC for the UK. I deleted the UK as Country of Study and replace with Nigeria. This remove the field for UK PCC. I did not assume and start praying the VO does not see the mismatch between WES report and the information I filled, instead I included a LOE stating that the exam was conducted in Nigeria by BC and attached exam docket showing the address of the exam Centre as Nigeria.

- Don’t try to outsmart the VOs.
I sincerely forgot to include my side hustle (Photography and Online Corporate wears Store) and my volunteering experience only to remember after two months. I did not dissociate or delete my Instagram pages, remove the volunteer services from my Linkedin profile. Instead I raised a Webform stating all my services and telling the agent/VO make dem no vex. Na oversight.

- Join a squad.
To go fast, travel alone; to go far; have a partner at-least. Even the bible says one shall chase a thousand and two chase ten thousand. There is power in synergy. Thanks to Ladymarshal that assisted with FEB/MAR Whatsapp group link (chop knuckle). I will never have remembered not providing information on Volunteer services and side hustle but for one Saturday 5:00am discussion on the group. Join a squad, they will help absorb your shock and you get to learn a lot. We laugh together, cry together, fight together and pray together. We shall all win together.

Whatever stage you are, please do not give up, it will end in praise in JESUS name. Your expectations shall not be cut short in JESUS name.

PS: I never mentioned Ednut1 on this thread, the last time I engaged him was when I wrote an open letter to ICAN in January 2014 which led to ICAN releasing our scores for the first time #AlutaContinua. I was actually waiting for this day. Viola, the day is here. So Ednut1, hurry up make we go join Whizqueen and have a reunion in Canada. I am off to the other room "Living in Canada" grin

Hi, I can't remember telling anyone that there are no *Transcripts* for diplomas.... About asking people, maybe you should do so before registering.....

CES, ICES have favourably evaluated *Advanced Diploma* and I am almost certain ICES won't give same outcome for an ordinary diploma..... Unless you will like to pioneer the Diploma...

If I may ask, why go for the Diploma which is still 9 months when you can do the Advanced Diploma in peace?

Like I said, it's an advice. The ball is in your court.
