Perkins1:You people just like using this statement without considering the present challenges the driver is facing to make him decline your request. That was how a rider was yelling at me to disobey soldiers that stopped my car in traffic because their convoy was passing, I just looked at her like this 9 Likes 1 Share

Quite an interesting thread, you learn, unlearn and relearn. One thing is certain, we disagree to agree, and if we refuse to reach a common ground, we leave it at that... Rider was wrong likewise the driver, "An eye for an eye" they say, if we go by that, then everyone would totally go blind or have few people living on earth, in my earlier comment, sometimes all we need do is just to tap into our emotional intelligence and that settles it. A rider lives in a pretty bad environment (dilapidated roads) makes a request and driver says no...that shouldn't give the rider the effrontery to say afterall you are a driver you must take me to my destination. Nope, if they all refuse to take u there, common sense should set in : add a bit of incentive to entice them, take a yellow and black taxi, take a bus or maybe a bike... stop having a sense of entitlement where there is none... 17 Likes |

One of the most reasonable posts here. Riders should stop having sense of entitlement and need reorientation about this thing. Drivers can reject trips and that shouldn't run them mad; simply order for a new ride. If drivers always reject your destination, common sense should tell such riders to either add incentives or take a bike a lil away from that place to a place with better roads. But this pride and sense of entitlement is ruining the whole thing. Dovehorizon: 9 Likes |

peeps4u:Why will they add incentive or take bike when they have you the DRIVER the slave? That's why many people stopped doing personal driving, it's because of all these type of things. Especially driving women, the next thing u hear is "I pay you". Some even expect you to do house chores and run awkward errands for them 6 Likes |

If riders know that drivers aren't employees or staff of any ehailing platform, we will have less fights. Drivers are partners; they choose when to work and can reject trip which they perceive pose threats to them. They are not bound to accept all trips. Infact, these companies know this fact, hence the need for surge to eñcourqge drivers to work during rainy days because they know many drivers will stay at home or reject those flooded areas. The fact that uber owns the platform is why they have share from drivers' earnings, but the ownership of the platform doesn't give uber or any platform the privilege to dictate which trip a driver must accept Let's be guided and educated please. That " uber owns the platform, drivers are employees of uber/bolt.........." statement can only come from an uninformed mind who knows no difference between partnership and employment 13 Likes 1 Share |

Gentlelife50: An Uber Driver is not a slave. The aim of Uber is to pick and drop. Anything you do for the riders outside this is your personal preference. |
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by peeps4u: 12:21am On Oct 31, 2019 |
It is the ignorance that gives them such sense of entitlement. Only ignorance will make someone think drivers are employees of uber/bolt and as such can't reject trips. They are pompous ignoramuses who dont know partnership isn't employment, but hide behind grammar to feign brilliance, they are on this thread, pay them no mind Gentlelife50: 7 Likes |

peeps4u: You can't eat your cake and have it. If you want to drive like a normal yellow cab owner it's fine. But if you're a driver/partner on Uber, there are expectations and fulfillment for the rider. Have you seen someone complain that a yellow cab driver did not take him or her where they wanted to go? Or pick the person from his location? 1 Like |
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by peeps4u: 12:29am On Oct 31, 2019 |
Frankdamaxx: You clearly don't know how ehailing works. There is nothing like you can't eat your cake and have it. The platform only brings the riders to the drivers and earns commission on it. Drivers can reject any trip he doesnt like. Uber and bolt understand this fact, and that is why drivers are not penalized for rejecting trips except when your exceed the threshold. Why do you think they give surge during rainy days? They also know drivers would reject many trips and wouldn't go to those flooded places, except surge can make some drivers reconsider. 11 Likes |

Frankdamaxx: OK, and why do u think there is mostly surge in flooded areas? Why don't uber and bolt not worry themselves about surge since drivers are bound to take riders to their destinations? And as for okada and danfo you mentioned, can you hail an okada at odd hours and expect to pay same amount in normal days? Okada will reject such requests because the time is inconvenient again and there might not even find any customer coming back, hence the heavy bills. Same applies to ehailing, if a driver rejects a trip for a certain reason, it is either the rider use sweet words to appeal to the drivers or make another request. There is no reason to rant over rejected trip just as u can't rant over an okada or danfo for rejecting your trip. Again, I repeat, uber understands there will be rejections and that's why they cant ban for rejection except you exceed your threshold. Good night bro 3 Likes |
