Former NNPC Management caused this wahala I swear, they supposed to do this recruitment since last year but they were blinded and taken things for granted, thinking Buhari would extend there tenure. They even wrote for 2 years extention but when they realized their tenure would not be renewed, they started rushing the recruitment process and at the end time didn't allow them.
The new NNPC BOSS want to review everything before they would take their final decision on APL. May God help us

The truth is they are not in real need of new staff. They are fond of doing that, starting a recruitment and behaving like someone forced them to do it. And once a new management comes in by mistake, then the termination of the process is an absolute certainty. But what I often wonder is why contract staff will not be absorbed to meet any need for additional staff. Why should so much money be spent on personnel training which will not be so necessary if experienced contract staff are taken? Why is Nigeria so wickedly wasteful?

It is not a good practice to absolve contract staff. Most companies try to avoid it because it gives too much room for the staffing of the organization to be manipulated. The thing is, contract staff are mostly employed by connection through any senior person in any department. The HR would hardly have control over contract staff employment. I doubt if there is any contract staff that got employed as contract staff by merit.

While I feel for them to be regularise also do not want to support it. Except for project based staffing where an individual's employment contract may be directly dependent on the execution of a particular project, every other form of using people as contract staff to do regular and routine jobs should be discouraged.

The reason I haven't responded to all the innuendos being spun here is that there is really no update to be given.
Definitely the list is ready and surely it has been sent out to the Minister as we all know. As far as I know,the court case has not been the reason why the list has not been released. They just haven't gotten around to it since the unfortunate delay caused by the whining politicians.
The Minister wanted to use it as an Independence gift to the nation but after the brief pause in the process, he has been in and out of the country since that list and the report of the committee was sent to him.
Now he has travelled with the GMD to Saudi Arabia and it is inconceivable that they won't talk about this process before they return to Nigeria from Riyadh. I am aware that the list is awaiting the Minister's go ahead.
Till when he has the time to approve its release, we wait with fingers still crossed!

We have to exercise more patience guys, the recruitment process is ongoing, as I've been informed.

Those that applied for managerial roles got interviewed 2 - 3 weeks ago. I know a friend who attended the interview in Abuja.

Three things are currently a clog in the wheels of our progress in this NNPC recruitment:

1. The new management in place...
2. The court case
3. The issue with Pengassan / contract staffers

I may not know how these issues will be resolved or when APL will start dropping, but the certainty is...This Recruitment has NOT been cancelled.
