BAZ001: you no get phone? make a video of yourself removing the items from the boot of the car. make sure you have a camera app that supports location and timestamp. take photos as well.remove the items from your car, and go. i am sure uber also has options for reporting bad riders. i am honestly inclined to think these stories are made up because even your regular kabu kabu driver will not carry passenger items. 2 Likes |

radautoworks: LOL, and that was why I said they are not synonymous. You can't use "or" for employee and partner when they aren't synonymous. Either employee or partner, and in this case, partner is the correct. Can you please show where uber or bolt refers to drivers as employees ma'am? 4 Likes |

I also think the Uber drivers/partners should stop feeling like they are doing a less superior job. You are professionals. Act like it. If you know how important you job is, you will attach more pedigree to it. P.S: In this life, there is someone always stepping on you, no matter whether you're the CEOor president. 7 Likes |

The purpose isn't defeated, stop elaborating the trip rejection like murder case, you can still make another request. There are many drivers willing to accept that rejected trip. A lagos-badagry trip which many see as a bad trip, another driver will take it, probably because the same road leads to his house. Yes, and uber or bolt thinks you can only be banned when you select over a certain range,, not because you reject trips. So the platforms still allow rejection but drivers just need to be cautious about it so he doesnt go beyond the limit the platform allows. it is not supposed to be rider's worry Frankdamaxx: 2 Likes 1 Share |

thelastorca: People with this 'God punish you' mentality OK let me come down to your level so you can understand how this thing works Keyword: Activity Score - Bolt/uber sends you a trip and you see the rating of the rider and decide to ignore it, Activity score takes a hit. - A driver decides to cancels due to road or weather conditions or maybe the rider was rdue or whatever, Activity score screams. - A rider refusing to cancel because he's feeling special and wants bolt/uber to strike you, thereby forcing the driver to cancel, Activity score cries. Now, there's a threshold. If the driver cancels too much, his activity score plummets and he/she is kicked off the platform. If we have so many ignorant riders like you displaying machismo, a lot of drivers would be getting yanked off. The the law of economics comes into play because we now have few drivers. What happens when the demand is more than the supply? Yea, SURGE So at the end of the day who actually pays for it? Use your head bro. Let love lead. 10 Likes 1 Share |

kodred: the problem with your so called economics is the same problem facing job seekers. there is an oversupply of candidates, so it is a buyers market. is it not this same uber where several people still waiting on employment are using to tide over the period? is this not Nigeria with more people entering labour market everyday? for everyone one kicked or exited from a job, there are 50 people willing to take his/her place at half his salary. you think uber is any different? you are talking about surge. are you sure you even understand your platform? or is a surge not a period when there is high demand within a vicinity? eg if there is an NNPC test in unilag, there will be a sure there t the end and at the beginning or maybe you can talk in your odometer language again 4 Likes |

thelastorca: Now I understand why you're mad at our posts/comments here. That his experience with the rider is quite terrible and bad, but on a scale of 1-10 it's not even among the top3 of things we see from riders. If he had confronted her aggressively to take her things of his car, it won't seem as bad as we see it now. And she would have turned back and pick her things up. 2 Likes |

donfortune48: please stop using behavior of a few riders to justify the everything you people have been posting what is wrong is wrong. in my own opinion, Nigerians are very fond of self help instead of going through the proper channels. if you were to confront the ride aggressively, on her own turf, you will immediately see a video of yourself on sm, tagged domestic violence from driver. people's behavior is part of them. if every driver this lady treats wrongly reports via the platform, she will be tagged as a problem rider. it is that simple. 2 Likes 1 Share |

thelastorca: You really are ignorant. If uber strike drivers out, they migrate to other platforms. You do know Mr. Taxi is launching tomorrow or so right? Let me educate you again because e be like say na cocout head you get. Surge occurs when there are more riders than drivers within a geographical location. Even the weather conditions is as a result of some drivers going offline, which results to few online drivers. No time to dey monitor NNPC test or what not. Demand and supply bro. I picked a rider from Allen to lekki County home last night and the ride was a quite one and I made sure it was like that. Rider entered my car and sat at the back. I greeted her the first time, I didn't hear a response, I greeted her the second time, still didn't hear any audible sound that looked like she was responding. I turned and greeted her loudly this time that she was forced to answer but at that point I wished I hadn't turned to greet her because her shirt was loosed and all her boobs were just all over the place. I just quickly shook that picture off my head literally and told myself I will never look back at her to ask anything. While on the trip, this lady sat in the car as if she was in her parlour. How I knew was when her clawy toe nails touched my elbow while it was resting on the arm rest/clove compartment. Na there I turn back out of shock and being startled only to see say my sister don open leg here and there with her left leg on the arm rest and right knee pushing on the front passengers seat to keep her balanced and boobs still everywhere. I wanted to tell her to put her legs down and sit appropriately, but when I remembered how things like this had escalated to something else from other drivers experience, I just told myself that it wasn't worth it. Moreover I may not see this lady again. Na so I cool myself down and avoided any issues that could have sprung up. Ended trip and it was 4400. Lady paid via transfer and thanked me. While every Fibre in me was screaming SHE IS A PROSTITUTE I quickly silence that voice because whether you like it or not, I am not on this platform to be judgemental. I only drive because I love it and to earn some extra income even while I pray for my own car to come my way. So my fellow drivers, this is what I have learnt in my little time of driving on uber. 1. If you are not comfortable with a ride you've already accepted kindly and politely tell the rider. 2. From my experience, rudeness of riders starts from the phone conversation but it is up to you to season your response with salt so as to calm her before you get to her. Works for me everytime. 3. Always ask them for their preferred route o. This one dey cause wahala well well. Even with the male riders. If traffic dey where dem dey tell you to take use Google map show them say that place red and why. Works for me usually. 4. Never expect your riders to always be nice that's not your entitlement. But by asking this question "How's your day going?" you will know if your rider will be nice or not and it will do two things for you. It will let you know the state of the rider and also force him or her to respond to you which in turn will let you know if the rider is open to conversation or not. BTW, they'll know when you ask sincerely and that's how conversation starts. 5. I personally prefer transfer to cash payment as it makes it easy for me to save and not spend cash any how on petrol and food. Last but not least as much as I can remember, don't drive on Uber with the mindset of "this is my car" because it will rob you off your professionalism. You are providing a service and hence you should be worth your service. If you see yourself as a "common Uber driver" it will affect how you handle your riders. May the Good Lord prosper us in this hustle and keep us safe even as we enter the festive period. Be safe guys and remember that your life is worth more than your daily target. Disclaimer: the post above and the tips are just my experience and what I have been using that has been working for me. It might not be accurate and may not apply to some drivers. I stand corrected but still stand on what I belive works for me. Bless up guys 16 Likes |

Bro, it is just an illusion to make drivers dance to rider's tune. The platform isn't doing any driver favour, it is a partnership with mutual benefits. The fact is that ehaling has come to stay in Nigeria, if riders leave bolt or uber, they definitely go to other platforms, drivers will migrate likewise. Only uber or bolt has much to lose, drivers will have other options. thelastorca: 2 Likes |

izzou: you think people change phone numbers just like that? i will change my phone no because of uber? and what do you think all the sim card registration is about? tying your identity to a phone line. it is really not that hard. al uber has to do is collaborate with the phone companies and inisist that only registered sims are used on their platforms to take it further, when i made my report, i had to do a full registration. email etal. al uber has to do is make some benefits available to fully registered users. this is the message they emailed me start of this week it is not that hard
