how old is your dog to begin with?

i have a pedigree Caucasian, seven of mine friends have a pedigree Caucasian, few of my work colleagues have pedigree caucasians, caucasians are just large teddy bears.. mind you I also own other dogs /breed, they instinctively keep at alert and are very active guard dogs ...

Age isn’t really a matter here any dog that will be a good guard dog starts showing signs from puppy hood, all my other dogs did and still do..

first of all, you didn't answer the question
secondly, Caucasians are not teddy bears, they are one of the most aggressive dog breeds and they are also good guard dogs.
you can ask around and even check online, their are thousands of Caucasians that guard farms and households diligently.
the breed was made to guard and that's what they have been doing, do you think when they are called wolf killers it's just a fun nickname?

I've seen several stories like this, of people that because they see the impressive size of a Caucasian puppy they start expecting too much from the puppy ignoring the fact that it's a freaking puppy. when the puppy matures then they start complaining that their dogs are too reckless and stubborn and start asking for training tips. you can check here on NL all the "how do I make my dog aggressive" threads featuring Caucasian shepherd puppies, you'll see whether the situation changed with time or not. you can also check Facebook if you're not satisfied, you'll see the same thing.
if you describe a Caucasian shepherd as a playful teddy bear then you don't know anything about the breed at all.

if you're still not satisfied you can give me your phone number I'll send dozens of videos of Caucasians in action guarding their territories and tackling intruders

You're wrong in saying this brother, caucasian uptill date are used to guard prisons in Russia and other farm and properties as well

Some pedigree dogs may differ in temperament and in other qualities as well depending on how the dog was bred. I fear caucasian more than any breed in Nigeria as a whole because their aggression sometimes can be uncontrollable

lmao ain't no wolf killer? olden days?
if you're ready I'll show you very recent videos of them killing wolves and tackling and apprehending multiple intruders.
and I actually have an adult Caucasian and I've also met many people who have adult Caucasians both online and in real life and they all have the same default setting so i don't know where you're getting your information from.
the same website you brought up this video of a domesticated Caucasian I can also pull up several videos of domesticated pet pitbulls, rottweilers and dobbermans does it mean these breeds are also teddy bears?
If you tell me you haven't seen videos of Caucasians working as guard dogs before I can show you several, including the ones I made myself at home with my dog.
in fact, forget videos, you can ask other people that own adult Caucasians whether they are teddy bears let's see.
stop spreading false information and narratives you don't have any idea about, before you make any claim online make sure you are capable of backing it up pls

the annoying thing is that the pedigree Caucasian that he's talking about and calling teddy bear is a 4-5 month old female pup.

As much as it is true that Caucasian dogs were bred to be guardians, also realize that every breed of dog has pet quality, and more and more of them are being imported daily, The fact that a Caucasian isn’t aggressive does not only mean that it is impure or still a puppy.

Some breeders desire looks(pet quality dogs) that will nt give stress in mating and during walks. So not all caucasians are good guard dogs

this is also true but some breeds are generally known as aggressive, there are rotts and Pitts that are pet dogs without signs of aggression but that doesn't mean you should describe the breeds as docile.
it's part of the breed standard of the Caucasian shepherd to be aggressive, lack of aggression is seen as a fault.
some dogs are not aggressive naturally irrespective of the breed but that doesn't mean the breed should be defined with them, if you want to make statements about a breed you should look at it from a wider view.
not every individual dog is a good guard dog but there are breeds that are natural guard dogs in general.
also I was emphasizing on the age of the pup because I've seen this happen too many times, people complain that the dog is docile when it's young but when the dog gets mature the true nature of the dog shows.
most cases like this change completely when the dog matures, people are just too impatient most of the time forgetting that not all dogs develop the same time
Re: Murphy the Boerboel and Gustaf the German shepherd by Endy10(m): 1:52pm On Nov 02, 2019
First Aggression in a dog is a bad thing. Don't know why people think a dog being aggressive means it has good traits.

A dog can be a good guard dog or watch dog without being an aggressive dog. Now that's how you know a well bred dog.

Even a chihuahua can be aggressive. It doesn't have anything to do with the dog size.

OP, I love Gustaf. I'm a sucker for Gsds. Hope you're giving him the necessary training. Would be nice if you posted some videos of him performing some basic commands

Nice comment you made up there. Gustaf is doing fine, making a video isn't really a problem rather uploading it here is

One has to upload it on YouTube then before moving it here which is a stressful thing to do. Oga Seun we know that you're doing your best in fixing this site but please put more effort for the betterment of everybody.

but aggression doesn't mean the dog has to be reckless cheesy
a dog cannot be a guard dog without being aggressive, no matter how well trained a dog is, to defend it's territory or owner it'll have to show violence or willingness to be violent which automatically makes it an aggressive dog.
I don't know why when people hear "aggressive" they think it means mindless violence, even the malinois that the us government used to thwart the plans of the terrorist few days ago had to chase and tackle the criminal, that is also a sign of aggression does it mean the dog isn't well trained?...no
any dog that barks, growls or charges at targets whether human or animal or inanimate object is an aggressive dog, it doesn't have anything to do with training or skill, as far as the dog is showing violence or willingness to be violent, it's an aggressive dog.
and a good guard dog has to be ready to switch to violence when necessary which means a dog cannot be a guard dog without being aggressive, aggression isn't a bad term to use to describe a dog, a dog can be aggressive and still be a balanced dog.
i think what you should have said is, "every guard dog is an aggressive dog but not every aggressive dog is a good guard dog"

Sorry y'all but I saw some arguments on whether Caucasians are not guard dogs and are Teddy bears.Who would say such..
In the Ranking of Top 10 Most dangerous dogs Caucasian is No1 Caucasian are very territorial And exhibit ferocious aggressive character if not properly controlled. They are Mini bears with an Amazing strength. Some of u know spark my Caucasian.im just imagining how strong he would be when he is an adult.Cos yesterday he broke his Iron chain and he's just 5months.i don't know how because I just came back and I say his chain in half...An iron one for dat matter.

Secondly Top 10 biggest guard dogs Caucasian still retains the position as Number 1..Cos tell me is Caucasian just a teddy or a Guardian..

IamAnderson ur training tips is working ooo.I did test run yesterday evening.
