Am asking this because of a stupid thread opened by an afonja were he claimed Igbos aligned with the north in 1999 to vote PDP .

The idiots are claiming that the Igbos refused to vote Olu Falae who ran on the alliance platform of AD and APP (both regional and tribal parties).

To the daft afonjas in that stupid thread , they refused to acknowledge that the PDP also fielded a Yoruba candidate in the form of Obasanjo. To them it wasn't enough that the Igbos and Niger Delta people voted a Yoruba but they are insisting that they should have voted their preferred Yoruba candidate .

Now let's consider Tinubu's shenegens since 1999.

This is a man who led the opposition against Obasanjo. No day goes by without Tinubu insulting Obasanjo to the pleasure of both the Yoruba and northern people .

It is a fact that no other southern politician has worked for northern interests more than Tinubu.

He has supported three northern candidates - Atiku, Ribadu and Buhari.

Even in 1999, Falae ran on a joint platform with the regional APP.

So why is it that Yorubas are claiming that Igbos have always aligned with the north?

Tinubu denied Yorubas the speakership by ordering his benchwarmers in the national Assembly to vote a Fulani man.

Same Tinubu and his tribal party were instrumental in removing a southern president and they have also stopped clamouring for restructuring .

The Igbos were not the only ones that rejected olu Falae. Falae lost in every state outside the SW but for some reason the daft afonjas are laying falae's loss on Igbos only. Not minding that Igbos voted for a Yoruba candidate in the form of Obasanjo.

1963- First Republic - Igbo aligned with the North to become Ceremonial President
1979-Second Republic : Igbo aligned with the North to produce Vice President
1983- Igbo aligned with the North to remained VP
1993- Third Republic - Igbo aligned with the North to Vote Tofa at expense of Southern Candidate in the Person of Abiola
1993- 1998- Igbo aligned with Abacha for Life Presidency at the expense of NADECO movement for restoration of Democracy in Nigeria. It is an irony that no Politian of Igbo extraction was jailed during Abacha regime, because they were the one singing his praises at the expense of the Yoruba, who were at the forefront of the fight against the military and dictatorship.
Most Yoruba stood and fought Abacha, many of them were jailed and some died in Prisons including Abiola .
Yoruba don't run from fight like Ojukwu and Nnamdi Kanu did

U guys should know by nw that yoruba have never been afraid to run against a northern candidate. We aint coward like u that want both parties to field igbo candidates because u cant compete. Align with the north as much as u like, this wont stop us in 2023...

While Tinubu, Soyinka, Fayemi and co were hiding in London, brave Igbo men like Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu were using their clout to host secret NADECO meetings in his house. Abraham Adesanya and co affirmed this. Should we start listing how yoruba leaders created the Seme border escape route and how many of them escaped?

While Yoruba leaders were going to collect money from Abacha to betray Abiola, two Igbo men Bobo Nwosisi and Ralph Obioha followed MKO Abiola to the podium where he made the Epetedo declaration. That's Igbo spirit for you..always loyal to a fault even when we should not. Ralph Obioha had his banking license withdrawn by Abacha and Bobo Nwosisi died in exile. What did your Indian hemp leader Tinubu lose in the struggle?

You obviously started what you couldn't finish man ! Yoruba people have not actually requested for any alliance from Igbo,so calm down man.

You guys (Igbo) will never get it right politically as long as you allow childish emotions to becloud logical sense of reasoning. It is quite sad that this trait is noticeable in an average Igbo person.

You will be served another hot political lessons come 2023 if you don't do away with your empty brag and needless chest beating. Rather than forming alliance with your "northern friends" to punish Yoruba,why don't you just focus your weak energy on Biafra project. Confused lots !

Talking about 2015,even former president Jonathan realised his mistakes and has since apologised to Yoruba nation by seeking forgiveness from Obasanjo. Trust me, Igbo people have boxed themselves into political oblivion and as such are not politically relevant in Nigeria again.
