If u are sincere with your selves and not blind by nepotism.. Base on past records of Under 17 players.. This presents squad reeks of nepotism.

I dont care if because igbos in the team are fewer but the idea in building the team to carry every tribe defeat any sense of passion and u can see it in the player's.

They are not playing as a result of passion they are playing to impress whoever sponsored them there.
igbos dominated u17 team are over age players

am not enlightened indeed! Well I won't insult you... Did you heard of Siasia case? If yes cool... Match can be fixed at the grassroot leagues, as in lowest/bottom leagues not advanced league not to talk of champions league or world cup... Did you know that Birmingham were given 9 points deduction for a mere financial issue, Aston villa faced probe too... Let alone match fixing
when did u start watching footballgrin cheesy was juventus ,Ac Milan not penalised for match fixing in 2005/2006 .
Juventus won the league by match fixing they were relegated and sent to serie b that's why they lost their key players then like thuram, zambrotta, carmonesi, trezeguet ,Edgar Davids. Ac Milan too was caught their points were deducted maybe 30 points. Inter that came 3rd on the log was given the serie A trophy.

Do u know Brazil vs cameroun 2014 world cup was investigated for match fixing.

They there make pant there wear you. Just like normal crime don't get caught. Match fixing is part of football

The coach should correct these errors..... No teamwork at all... Everybody want to score... Even the defenders want to score... They overlap like they are strikers...

This U17 team of Nigeria is purely Oduduwa team both by composition and attitude but who cares. The boys have the philosophy of “I scored, it is me and mine attitude” on the pitch. Most of the players were ignorantly selfish and found it very difficult to pull the crosses so their teammates could easily score the goal. Instead they kicked the ball wildly away from the target. I know this inherent attitude will not disappear in a day and as such the team might not survive the knockout stages. If the coaches could use the Australian match to illustrate that “I scored the goal” is completely useless when the team loses the match.

Nigerian team would have been 4-0 before the end of first half if the team adopted the philosophy of “We won the match” instead of “I scored the goal”. In addition, Nigerian idiotic news media and moronic society which lavish useless praises on goal scorer contribute to this athletic folly. Most of the kids are very skilful and do possess athleticism to be successful however the management is poor. I really wondered aloud how did the players with shirts number 3, 7 and 18 make this team.

i don't know why some mumu here are saying tribalism and Nepotism....
From day one, north aren't focus on football. instead they like joining militry forces... that's y northerners takes 70% of our country force. southerners on the other part love football as well as the west too...
So this doesn't mean there aren't good player's in the north.... what i do knw is dat hausa don't like football cus dey sees it as a watse of time but igbo dem dem believe in football, you can get rich.

Are you this slow? Do you know the factors that contributed to the precipitation of January 15, 1966 coup in Nigeria? Most Nigerian kids of these day and age seemed to represent Nigerian academic system very adequately.

I will always aligned with those calling for more inclusion of south eastherners in our football, "THE IGBOS" records have clearly shown over time that they are more talented and technically gifted when it comes to the round leather game. FOOTBALL IN NIGERIA IS TO THE IGBOS AS LONG DISTANCE RACE/MARATHON IS TO THE ETHIOPIANS AND KENYANS. But envy won't allow some people admit this. the set up like it has always be should be 80% IGBOS 20% other tribes in any order.

So many people fussing over a young team showing their naivety and youthful exuberance. Both teams played an open game like is often seen at this level. They will grow and they will learn.
Certainly, I love the way the throw bodies forward when attackinq. Just one and two indecisions cost them that match....

Imagine the same Australia that Nigeria thrashed 6-0 the last time the met. this shows that this quad of eaglets is not strong as the last set due to bad coach and corruption.
They had never beat Nigeria before at this level. KANU set beat them silly .
