I think this is possible, since both applicants will likely be applying separately. However, you need to show your relationship with such person and why they are sponsoring you; of course they will have to give proof of their financial capability (statement of account, company documents or proof of employment and all). chucs: 2 Likes |

From my experience, what you will need is a detailed sponsorship letter explaining your relationship with your sponsor (your supervisor) and why they are sponsoring you. Also, you will need their statement of account, their proof of employment or ownership of a business etc. and finally a copy of their passport bio data page. I hope this helps. Sorry to hear about that, were you working before you dropped your application? Also, what were your degree qualifications and what degree were you going for? Whitehope001: |

I think your sponsor has to be a family memeber. But in your case he/she can but you will have to explain why, what you did to deserve he/she to sponsor you. GODS PLAN_01 chucs: 1 Like |

chucs: Yes, but you have to demonstrate he will and he can. The distance in relationship is far. You could provide pictures of you all together, conversation you had together. This might help. But if not proven he will and can sponsor you. Not a good one. |

fehinebony: I regret to hear your study visa application was rejected. Your profile is very solid with career progression in management. I wonder why the visa officer could have rejected your application based on the ground stated above..... My best advise is that you should.defer your Admission to the next available term which is Spring. Prepare an LOE that will address the reasons stated on your refusal letter as gcms notes seems generic nowadays. Contact any of the knowledgeable individuals here to assist in vetting the letter on your behalf to be sure you've adequately addressed those concerns. Afterwards file for a reapplication. It shall end in praises. 1 Like |

A family friend can sponsor you but you need to prove why he's doing so - what's in it for him? Why you and not his own family members? Also, he needs to actually show commitment, and it's recommended that he does this by paying your fees directly from his account and transferring your living expenses to your account or transferring both fees and living expenses to your account. chucs: |

chucs:3rd party sponsor that isn't related to you isn't suitable especially with the fact that the individual will technically sponsor 2 applicants. Non the less of you choose to carry on with it you'll need to; 1. Ensure you can proof the sponsor as helped you in the past 2. Account for Sponsors dependents 3. Nature of sponsors job and earnings in reference to your study program cost etc... |

I imagine this will vary from school to school, however, I’d recommend you either check the school’s website or contact them for info on refund duration. Freshprince777: |

Mr Frank and gurus in the house, please what are the chances of getting a Student Visa if - The sponsor is a friend of mine in Canada. - If i have a study gap of like 8years and have been doing menial jobs ever since. Trying to apply for a BBA. - Is there any chance of getting a permit even with these hindrances? Someone wants to help and i want to make sure it's possible so i don't waste money and look at other countries. Thank you. |

Glasses1: It's a disadvantage only on the account that you declared that you've family member in Canada and fail to provide sufficient ties to Nigeria that would compel your return home after studies. Once you're able to establish strong ties here that far outweighs that of Canada, there is no disadvantage. 1 Like |

NomzyJust: What kind of skills are you talking about here? Canada has high demand for IT skills at the moment and because that's where the world has come to, I can't see it changing. On the other hand, skills like Welding, Electrician, Plumbing, and Home Builders are also recognized in Canada once you can prove that you're an expert, you will paid handsomely for your services. |

Book an appointment with them by sending across your details which entails your full name, passport number, date of birth, and intended country. Once you've been able to pick a date for the upfront medical exam, prepare yourself and go with the original copy of your International Passport and proof of payment to the hospital and you will have your upfront medical exam done and cleared! |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 12:59pm On Nov 02, 2019 |
Orlarshaynee: I think you're mistaken the applicant's question for a sponsor here in Nigeria. The question is actually referring to a graduate Supervisor in a university in Canada providing full funded scholarship for the applicant's research master's program. Hence all the requirements like international passport, employment letters and statement of account from the applicant's supervisor as suggested by you is not needed here. As I have rightly said in my previous post, what the applicant needs to show/present is a minimum of 1.2M in his account for his flight itinerary and other miscellaneous expenses that might arise during the course of his studies in Canada and I'm sure he will be fine with this. More so, if the applicant doesn't have upto this amount in his account, he can get a sponsor that will present a bank statement of 5M upwards since he is a fully funded applicant. chucs: I trust the information given by my fellow members on this thread was helpful to you in establishing proof of relationship between you and your sponsor. Meanwhile let me quickly chip in my little opinion concerning your sponsor's intention of sponsoring two applicants at same time in the same immigration processing office (Kenya). I wouldn't buy this idea as you're indirectly cheating the Canadian Study Visa system and thus when caught in such an act by the Canadian immigration officers you will be wrecked with a 5 years ban. I have seen a case on this window far back in 2017 where a particular bank statement was used by an agent to sponsor over 5 different applicants and guess what?, the embassy got hold of these applicants and they were all served 5 years ban. My best advice for you, that's if you would listen to me, is apply first, once your application has successfully pulled through, you can then file for the next applicant. All the best! 1 Like 1 Share |

oyukuwife: Why don't you wish to reapply? On this reputable plaform, we don't encourage anyone to give up after first trial. You should bear in mind that majority of successful TRV applicants within and outside of this thread tried several times before they were able to secure a visa to Canada. I don't advise you to give up so easily at this time. Share your detailed profile and the list of documents you submitted in your previous application, then we will pick it up from there.
