Ousmane Dembele has been left out of Barcelona's squad for their trip to Valencia to face Levante on Saturday afternoon.
The French winger is available after missing the games against
Eibar and Real Valladolid through suspension following a red card he received at the end of the 4-0 win over Sevilla , yet Ernesto Valverde has decided to not select him.
Samuel Umtiti has also not been named in the squad list, despite returning to training with the group on Friday.
Arthur Melo and Junior Firpo have returned to the squad, while Carles Alena and Moussa Wague have yet again not been selected.
For Dembele , though, this is a continuation of the intermittent start he has had to the season, having been injured, suspended and now left out.
Barcelona's squad to face Levante:
Goalkeepers: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Neto.
Defenders: Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Jean-Clair Todibo, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Junior Firpo.
Midfielders: Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Arthur Melo, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Arturo Vidal.
Forwards: Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Carles Perez, Ansu Fati.

[s] West Ham and Watford

Below are Napoli's best league standings before Maradona.

1st, 2nd 2nd 2nd 2nd 3rd 3rd 3rd 3rd 3rd 3rd 4th 4th 4th 4th 4th 5th 5th 5th 5th 6th 6th 6th 6th 6th 6th 6th 6th 6th 7th 7th 7th 7th 7th 8th 8th 8th.

This is what you want to compare to a West Ham or a Watford in the EPL?

Napoli broke the bank for Maradona and other signings.
Maradona joining Napoli in 1984 is at best comparable to Messi joining Man City in 2010.

West Ham ni, Watford ko.

Maradona was a Napoli god, definitely top 3 greatest of all time.
But comparing his club exploits with Messi's Barcelona exploits is stretching idiocy, lunacy, and imbecilty to the limits.

The average Barca fan is senseless sorry to say. When they are met with facts and critical thinking they resoute to insults and throwing tantrums.
Context is lost on them

Ddippest abeg free these jokes and leave them to their delusions.

How Levante match go be today? For me I think it'll be another struggle for the boys because they're playing away.

Nicely written. All I see are facts. What Maradonna did at Napoli was god level. Why are the Barca fans rattled by facts?
What Maradona did with Napoli Trumps anything Messi had done with Barcelona and that's the fact. Nobody is saying he took 10woods to win trophies but the team was average and filled with few exciting players. Let me add context.

Serie A at that time was dominant by the north in Juventus, AC Milan and Internazionale. Teams from South of the Italian Peninsula had ever won the Scudetto.

The first season of Maradona at Naples wasn´t disappointing from his side. Maradona had 14 goals, but Maradona didn´t like the coach because the team wasn´t built around him, which ended with Ferlaino firing Rino Marchesi (coach at the time). The replacement had to be approved by Maradona. Maradona was demanding the team to be built around him, which Ottavio  want to do and was appointed. The only interesting players Napoli had were Ciro Ferrera, Bruscolotti and an older Bertoni. Ciro Ferrera was the biggest name talent-wise on the Napoli team.
Bianchi played a 4-1-2-1-2 formation without wingers in the midfield. This formation was to make it as easiest as possible to pass the ball to Maradona. The second season of Maradona was much better with a new coach and new structure. Napoli ended 3rd this season. Napoli were already seen as one of the favourites going Into the 3rd season to win the league with a maradonna fresh from leading Argentina to the world cup. Napoli was an average team without Diego Maradona and that´s just a fact in 1986-87. Overall there were better teams than Napoli in the league. Inter, Juventus,Roma,AC Milan and even Verona had better teams. For the next 4 seasons before he was banned he led Napoli to 2 league titles, Two 2nd place finishes, Copa italia and Cup winners cup. What has Messi done at Barca that trumps that? Taking an average side to dominate not once but in 4/5 seasons against better teams and filled with better players.

Stop going round in circles!

These are the points of argument.

1.Explain to us how Napoli's Serie A status and nearly consistent top 5 place is comparable to West Ham and Watford.

2.Tell us how Maradona's work with Napoli is comparable to Messi's work achievement with Barca.

3.Tell us how all of a sudden Napoli's pre-Maradona status should only be determined by the 2 seasons just before Maradona came.

4.Tell us why Maradona joined and they could only place 8th position in Maradona's first season but then improved on the table when more additions were made to the squad.

Calling Maradona's Napoli work better than Messi's Barcelona's work is like telling us Jamie Vardy performed better carrying a Leicester than was coming from relegation the season before from bottom table to EPL title.

Stop the nairaland groupie.

Running around every thread and leaving behind posts preganant with ridicule and foolishness.
The wisdom you claim is constantly betrayed by your comments.

Fucck I was even told that comparing you to Neymar1095 was a dishonor to him, despite how stupid the boy is. Damn! grin

Here's The context you need.

Comparing Messi and Maradona since they both played at Barca right, since it's so easy to win at Barca.

*Maradona with Barca in the 1982/83 season.

4th position
No European cup

*Maradona with Barca in the 1983/84 season.

3rd position
No European cup

So what happened?

Like Peak, this foolishness must have been passed on from generation to generation.

This Wikipedia point is so laaaaame.

I definitely didn't watch Maradona from 82 to 84 so I got my education and information by reading and watching highlights.

You don't need no Wikipedia. You watched Maradona play at Napoli.

That makes you nothing less than 50 years old. shocked
I admit I can't compete with that OG status.

You should be preparing your will already.

But old age does not go with wisdom.

Nothing one could do about a sperm that was already negatively biased by stupidity.

Napoli has always been a top 6 team averagely since the inception of seria A, not a perpertual 14th or 15th place team that Maradona came and rescued.

For the umpteenth time, Maradona was God for Napoli.

But for Messi's Barca career?

Never seen in the history of football, Never!

Not any of the Ronaldo's, not Zidane, nobody!

Finally he's confused and all over the place like a cockroach.

Using your head obviously isn't one of your strengths.

Whatever I said about Napoli is immaterial.

The point is that they have already been a top 6 team; and to answer your next question;

A top 6 team does not imply that the team will be top 6 every single season. It's an average, it's a cumulative.
I know you're too old to comprehend, write your will already,

People like you who watched Maradona in 1982 should not be spending half of their lives logging in and out of nairaland.

Maradona Napoli exploits, one of the biggest in club football. Yes.

But to put that above Messi's 15 years at Barca is tantamount to being a pusssy, a big old pusssy.

Pa Spillo, you have been exposed.

You have been making it look as though Napoli was like Cardiff City before Maradona joined them. Now we have known that Napoli was actually a formidable team and Maradona was the icing on the cake.

Telling us Messi hasn't done better than Maradona in club level is a foolish thing to say.

Is this not part of the post you stole? Serie A at that time was dominant by the north in Juventus, AC Milan and Internazionale. Teams from South of the Italian Peninsula had ever won the prestigious Scudetto.
