Hi everyone, I was denied study permit last week, please is it too late to reapply for January intake? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 1:47pm On Nov 02, 2019 |
WalterC007: Considering that approval now takes between 7-9weeks. It's late to file for a reapplication for winter resumption. Don't rush things, make sure you've adequately addressed the reasons raised in your previous Application and have included relevant supporting documentations to show that your current situation has substantively changed to merit a study visa. 4 Likes |

When is your resumption date? It’s not to late for filing another application but I will advise you to defer to the follow session because it’s might take you time to treat your refusal reasons. But first, was the basis of your denial? #GODS PLAN LEADS WalterC007: |

Kylieeeee: Truth be told your chances are low to secure a study visa using such profile, but don't get it twisted okay you can still be considered for a Visa, if luck falls in your favour. Since you haven't attained any post secondary education (degree) for the past 8 years and until now, you have to explain in detail what you've been doing since you left high school and why you want to further your studies in Canada and not Nigeria, considering that it would be cheaper for a third party sponsor who is not a blood relative. 2 Likes |

Hello house, What do you guys think about just showing full one year tuition and 10,000 dols equivalent in your account? Cos I'm worried about doing wahala to get tuition refund incase of refusal...let's be realistic Plus my school gave me admission letter against fall 2020 without requiring any deposit or whatsoever until September. I have also written their cashier office to know their refund policy. I just think we should take precaution and not lose out on both sides. |

librangyps: Study Permit are not issued based on payment of school fees. The least you should do, is paying school fees and hoping you are issued. If you want to be granted , you will with your documents not paying of tuition fees. 3 Likes |

Good evening. I am intending to apply for an undergraduate program in Canada. How much will I need to have in my bank account as proof of fund. I will be sponsoring myself. Thank you. |

Thanks for pointing that out. I wrongly assumed the same procedure for Nigerian sponsors applied to supervisors in Canada. Frankrobbn1: |

Please I have a question regarding passport drop and pickup. Did you pay any additional fee when dropping your passport at the visa office in Lagos, which I assume was also where you had your biometrics. I’m having a bit of an issue understanding all the information posted on vfs website, regarding passport drop and pick up. Thanks. Bimmy35: 1 Like |

kaze4blues: Since you intend sponsoring your undergraduate studies in Canada yourself, you need to show funds availability in your account for the entire duration (4 years) of your stay in Canada. I would suggest you get a sponsor that will help you lessen the financial burden as an undergraduate program takes 4 years to be completed. Also bear in mind while being self-sponsored, you must show prove as to the source of your wealth in Nigeria to cover for your expenses alone. I hope this helps. It shall end in praises 1 Like |

Yes you will be issued your permit at the first POE... which is in YYZ. Try to ask about your SIN number too. You can actually apply for that too at the airport. Safe travels!! skirmish: 2 Likes |

If you did your biometrics at same place as where you want to pick up passport, then you do not need to pay. look for the confirmation code you got when you did your biometrics and show it to them. That proves you did biometrics there. That was what i did. My application was almost 10 months so i had forgotten where i kept the slip i got when i did biometrics, but the email confirmation was what saved me from paying the amount. deveid: |

Hi, good thing you want full scholarship but you need to prove you are worthy of it. 1. What are the school requirements? Do you meet it. Some schools give full funding but you have to be able to show you are eligible for it by having a very high GPA, and even throwing in GRE even if it may not be required by the school. 2. Some admission entails getting a supervisor, if your supervisor has a research ongoing and has funding, then you might be lucky to get funding. 3. Early submission of application too also gives an edge. However bear in mind that even if you have full funding, you still need to show financial ability for your visa, so while you are looking for schools with funding, bear in mind that you need to have your own SOA ready. Good luck! Famouslabod: |
