Good evening guys, please i wanto know, if i have land i want to build on, and i wanto start building, i have artitecural plan already,....is it a building contractor i need to handle the construction, laborers , buulding materials, etc or a site manager. Please help out

Which we all knw. eg ARCHITECTS to provide
Architectural Drawings (building plan)
STRUCTURAL ENGR and CO also provide their's .

While all these still look meaningless in the eye of the CLIENT
Where BUILDER'S now coming to translate all the IMAGINARY information on paper to REALITY.

Now if Builder is nt available to build then others can now come in, that's as an OPTIONS then to them is secondary assignments Means attache!
So for you builders are not to see an OPTIONS

I made this water tank scaffold recently. It is 4inch galvanised steel pipe and it is meant to carry two 1500 litres tank.

1.)Those of us in lekki/ibeju lekki who have constructed this type of scaffold. I hope its holding. Any long-term issues...?


2.) How would the foundation be. My Engineer recommended 2ft into the ground and a slab above ground surface. Is that how it is done.

Soil is firm not requiring Raft ie strip foundation
You're not selecting the best tiles, fitting etc (best is different from quality - Instead of led light, go for conventional bulbs, Nigerian tiles, etc and instead of 50k toilet seat, go for 15k toilet seat etc).

Offcourse Nigerian cables...

So, 4.5 might just be enough for your foundation if your land is in Ajah..

About the tank scaffold..

I went to a building where one was done.. the tank fell off from the top of the scaffold. It was a two storey building somewhere in sangotedo after ajah. The scaffold was quite high.
Luckily the tank fell into a bare land just adjacent the building. So no injury or life lost..

So i am trying to get all the information possible to be sure he is on the right track.

Please guys i need your input.

How will u know he is on track when u are not into construction? How will u know he is using right mix ratio? Just get someone competent & relax.
Is he taking the tank stand to foundation and cast it, or is he going to bolt it to reinforcement?

The worst part is that his rate isn't even cheap.

180k for 30T granite isn't cheap at all, it's above fair market price and still he couldn't deliver or refund. i know he'll claim full truck load bla bla but it's all BS.

The dude doesn't even seem willing to refund. Don't blame the client for calling him out as a fraud.
