tell me about the composition jong oranje team. Are they Netherlands-born?
TheSuperNerd:
Netherlands are good. They were just unlucky against Senegal. They whipped USA 4-0 and I think they can make it among the best 4 third placed teams.

Japan is beating Senegal. Not surprised. But again, Japan wants to top the group shaa and get an easy Round of 16 draw.

was eze performing consistently then in the English championship? when i suggested that this kids should be capped before there hit stardom was it not in this same thread that i was called all sort of names for advocating for such when they are yet to even tie down regular shirts in their respective clubs in europe?

if eze was called up then someone in this thread will rush to transfermrkt to dig out ajagun and nwakali's stat, many will label rohr and the nff business fellows who have been bribed to call him up. bros leave matter abeg. if eze is destined to wear the gwg colors it will happen and if he is not then we move on to others

Joebie:
don't put words into my mouth. I never said he should have been fast-tracked. I only spoke of the time Mikel was absent and we needed a back up to Iwobi.. no talk another matter.. face the substance of the issue.

and you think the nff and rohr will just pencil his name down without seeking for his consent first? hmmmmm bros nawaooooo!

even before the likes of balogun, ekong and other were given there first call up to the national team they were first contacted to know if they are interested in playing for us.

if rohr went on to invite him without contacting him first and he refuses to accept the invitation na still here una go label rohr and the nff unprofessional

okay!!!!! the context here is Eze had been called up in the past although not for an official game. DIFFERENT.. you guys make it seem like i'm criticizing for no reason, when in actual sense you are defending Rohr anyhow.

when did he say so, and who did he tell?
When Rohr was asked according to the so called journalist nothing was said of that nature. so you have chosen the story you want to believe and you are making this argument because of the path you have chosen without facts.

@ charlesemeka85

below are snapshots of Eze's previous two seasons in the championship. Now let's check the facts. When was Mikel out of SE?
Was Eze not a consistent performer the season before now? Who was deputizing Iwobi in SE at the time? Or would have been the best AM to deputize Iwobi at the time? Rohr was not interested in getting another consistent performing AM even in Mikel's absense. It was not a matter of rushing Eze into the team, but providing a cover in the absense of Mikel.. The thing would have been sealed without criticisms from many long. Now we dey go approach person for permission when don already honor our call in the past. Na so Balogun etc case be that time?
Most of us won't have criticized Rohr if he had called up Eze then. The fact remains that a handful of us here have been clamoring for Eze. And i'm not speeking of the period he auditioned.. make una no dey find something talk when the facts are there.

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 4:38am On Nov 03, 2019
when that initial story was reported here, I had my own take on that.. now the second story is quite conflicting. it begs the question, why are we even asking his permission. if we have invited him in the past and he honored it, they we may as well invite him again and see if he would. it solves the entire drama.

This is Oghenekaro Etebo's stats in the same 18/19 season. If you consider this SE player consistent in the championship, then why are u speaking another language about Eze?

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by charlesemeka85(m): 4:44am On Nov 03, 2019
And can you make mention of any other cm in our possession then better than etebo?

Etebo wasn't the most gifted but was a mainstay in stokes team last season and one of their best at that. Eze was on and off and was mainly a bench player during the tail end of last season

so na tail of last season u dey focus on... what about when he was very consistent? haha.. u choose what you want to choose, when the total stats show Eze was even more of a regular than Etebo. I'm not pitching both players against each other. But how can u talk as if Eze has done nothing to warrant a call until this season? That is a big fat lie.

Most of them are Dutch. One or two Moroccan-dutch judging by their names and there is one Kenneth Taylor which sound Dutch-American to me.

Maatsen, Unuvar and Taylor are their most exciting players.

He will make his decision at the end of the day and I forsee him turning out for England. We better prepare our minds for this
that is if England consider him good enough for their team.

SEASON 2 OF THE NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FANS AWARDS IS HERE!

THE NNFF AWARDS-2019

Ahmed Musa was crowned King of Nigerian football in 2019 while Tochukwu Oluehi was the Queen of Nigerian football. Are we going to have a new King and Queen for 2019? Let's play.

First we nominate Monikers that will be saddled with the responsibilities of coming up with award categories and selection of players for the various awards.

Just like for last year, the committee shall be made up of the top 7 Monikers nominated at this stage.

Rules for nomination:

1. Every member of the house is qualified to be nominated.
2. You can only nominate one moniker.
3. You cannot nominate yourself.

However it is advisable that you nominate a Moniker that is very knowledgeable about Nigerian football as a whole( Senior, Youth and Female Football).

Nominations opened on 1st November 2019 @ 12am and closes @12noon of 8th November, 2019.

Icon4s and Andrewbaba44 will be collating the nominations ( These two are also qualified to be nominated)

To nominate a moniker for eg just mention : I nominate GreatNigeria59.

It is Nigeria Vs 3ACD.
From the way it is now it likely going to be Nigeria Vs Chile. Except if New Zealand miraculously qualifies.

What are u even saying bro? This guy with Maja, Akpom, Onyedinma and Aina were once invited unofficially, and only him and Akpom were able to honour the invitation. When the time was right for official invitations, the NFF had to seek the consent of Aina and Akpom Bkus the two had official caps for the English youth teams, but this wasn't the case when Maja was invited officially Bkus Maja had no caps. Since Maja who had no caps was invited without craving his consent, why is the case of Eze now different since he also doesn't have no caps just like Maja? Just like Joebie rightly opined, "was Rohr clueless of his national team status"?

What's the need for officially seeking the consent of a player that once was in ur camp, and isn't captied to the youth team of the other country? Is this not a case of "finding wetin no lost"?

I know Eze will come around, my major worries is that once he gets a cap for the u21s, the whole process is gon get a lot more complicated and stressful before he becomes cleared to play for us again. I just don't wanna be down that lane for a player we had in our arms, it is sickening

you are as good as the average of your performance all season long. Messi has had bad games.. we cannot write him off because of a couple of games. He still remains one of the highest (if not the highest) rated PLAYERS in the championship so far.
We should have invited the lad when it was so so obvious we needed a deputy to Iwobi when Mikel was away. That said, what's wrong with naming the player for the qualifiers. if we do that and he rejects the call then I will support our moving on. I don't see why we are making INDIRECT approaches on a player who has shown he is ours in the past. it's nonsensical to me.

Nobody names a player without his consent

It is not done

SCORENigeria can exclusively reveal that French Ligue 1 club FC Nantes have begun talks with La Liga side UD Levante over a permanent transfer of winger Moses Simon.

Moses Simon has shone in France and ‘The Canaries’ have an option to buy him permanently at the end of the season.

The Super Eagles forward has scored twice in nine league outings with Nantes chasing for the championship.

He also grabbed a hat-trick in the French League Cup playing a more attacking role for the team.

He previously featured for AS Trencin in Slovakia and KAA Gent of Belgium.

Nantes may not have the financial power to buy Simon on a permanent. They no get money, even when Awaziem did wonders with them, the couldn't afford £5m to sign him on a permanent. Levante will ask for a bigger money than they signed Simon. Worse they'd do is try see if they can reapply for another loan on Simon (which might be a likely case).

Wesley is a Brazilian so he has an advantage

For a top club to buy a Nigerian he has to outperform a brazilian ×3
