I recently applied for a remark (IDP) on 15th of September. I got the an email on 1st of November.

Does it mean that the score has changed? The email lacks clarity.

I'm in same situation but have a concern abt sending someone. The mail I just got said I have to give d person a copy of my passport and an authorization letter. It also mentioned a form to fill to process d refund if d score changes. My question is if d person I will send can also sign d said form. They also said they will need d original payment receipt. This is my personal story, and I hope it helps someone, who will carefully read.

I first sat for the IELTS test five years ago (that was 2014), but before that, I started preparing for the test, four months to my given test dates (the speaking part was Saturday, and other four parts followed, a week later), also, I made use of numerous materials, including videos, IELTS textbooks, and PDFs. The more I prepared, the closer my test date was. In summary, the test days (speaking and the other parts) came; I arrived at the test center, then I confidently entered the hall to sit for the test.

As soon as I was through, I could not wait to see my test result and how well I have performed but what would I have done? I had no option but to wait. Eventually, the report arrived, and I saw something terrifying: I had an overall of 7.5, with 6.5 in listening. It was a real sad thing to view; however, I re-registered in 2015, and then started my normal and rigorous preparation again, but better this time. In addition, I signed up with an online tutor for $15 for just fifteen days, where I was able to realize my weak points. Not to prolong this story, the test day came again, I arrived at the test center earlier than the former, the call-in time emerged, I was cleared to enter the hall, and I had one of my best moments with those papers. I smiled out, and then await my results for some days.

Few days later, I saw it. What I have been hoping and wishing for, it was 8.5 (L 8.0, W 9.0, R 9.0, S 8.0). Few months ago, I tried the CDT and I had same band score, although the breakdown is slightly different.
What I am trying to say is, you can only tackle your weak point (which is your problem) if you discover it, if not, you will keep beating around the bush, trying to make things happen, but unfortunately, you will only try to catch a whale with an octopus hook. If I had taken the step I took in 2015 in 2014, before writing my first IELTS test, probably, I would not have missed the opportunity I lost in 2014, as a result. (Unfortunately, I could not retrieve the loss.)

I have spared little of my valuable time to type this, and I hope someone, who is reasonable and passionate, will read and learn from my mistake.

The highest ever ielts result from Nigeria is 8/9, unless of course you have proof of your own 8.5

Stating an unverified fact could be shameful on a public forum like this. Also, of what reason should I prove it to you? So you can make it 9.0? Nigerians!
