Fact: Chances created are the 3rd assignment of a DM and a CM. Their first and second assignments are to shield defence and accurately pass the ball forward. If you see a CM having a high chances created, it is either he plays a bulk of the games in the hole (number 10) like Fabregas did for Chelsea or he takes set play.

The attacking players mostly win top chances created stats and Assists stat season after season in the EPL.

You were talking about chances created by players and someone pointed out that young had created almost the same number of chances as Mahrez and you replied by saying 60% were from set piece.

This your DM and CM illustrations don't make sense to me. Are young and Mahrez CMs or DMs?

If those that are expected to create chances at united in open play are flopping at it and someone else is creating those chances even if 60% are created through set piece, why make it look like creating chances through set piece is inferior to creating it in open play.

If the useless strikers we have were at least converting those set piece chances created by young we would be better off. No?
