They have laws. Respect it. But it isn't the trader's duty to enforce law though. |

Blue3k:I am actually against the law in whatever form. it can never be materialized for a nation that is trying to champion itself as the star of Africa, A country that recently won the seat of AFCTA. it is constitutional law Ghana goverment will not enforced. this I am very sure . There are other ways to target foreing traders, i am looking at reciprocation agreement between nations involved . |

AtikuNetwork:it is not about better access to fund perse but economical benefit of cheaper goods in Nigeria coming thru in lower tariffs and cheaper price. Goods imported from China to Nigeria happens to be more cheaper than goods imported to Ghana from China because of Nigeria cheaper buisness enviroment. There will always be a kick back against this by the locals, I urge my country goverment to work on reducing the cost of operating in Ghana and things will become better and much competitive |

Its their laws Nigerians should respect it. Nigeria should also do the needful. We wont complain about ghanians doing petty trading.BUT Nigerian markets are the major destination of multiple goods from Ghanian companies.Up to 90% in sone cases. These companies provide jobs to Ghanians at the expense of Nigerians. No one is crying wolf yet. Time to revisit the ECOWAS charter 1 Like 2 Shares |

Blue3k:The law was first drawn by John Attah mills during his regime when Ghanaian trader complain of the influence of foreing traders in the Ghanaian market . it was not a well thought out law but a political motivated law just to win the interest of the electorate. The law will be abolished or amended that I can assure. Even if GUTA goes ahead to court to seek for the law enforcement , they shall not win. |

Re: Ghanaian Traders Lock Shops Belonging To Nigerians & Other Foreigners by vaxx2: 8:07am On Nov 05, 2019 |
phineas:Not entirely true, Ghana does trading far more with cote devoire , Togo and Burkina Faso than Nigeria. most of the Ghana non traditional goods are included in the 41 banned list not permitted to enter Nigeria. and this had earlier go against ecowas charter that encourage regional trade. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I see nothing wrong with this though. Ghana is a very small country its cities are less than 5, then all it's population move there, they are poor and trying to survive and then immigrants come in to compete With the little businesses they have. Nigeria has 36 States in fact 37, out of all these 36 States some States have more than 1 city in one state while some have urban towns plus there capital cities. Instead of relocating to Ghana why don't we try to fill up these cities and do our businesses. With the way Ghana keeps holding its peace very soon xenophobia might start in Ghana, let's tet and respect there laws Nigeria is big enough for us. 2 Likes |

Desperate actions. Thought they used to challenge Nigeria. A little respect from Ghana and we will continue to spoon feed them as usual. This is one of the best things that Buhari ever did. |

I think there is a silver lining in all of this. Nigeria should take note and reshape her perspective--Africa should cease being the focal-point of its foreign policy; it can come second though. It's only an unserious man that would allow the affairs within suffer just because he is trying to affect those without. Ghana has consistently exhibited traits of negative, bitter insularity. It seems even its government is aware of this sick predilection of its populace; most of these hostile actions against other nationals within Ghana have been perpetrated by its citizens. Our only consolation is that it is a small, cash-strapped country, so we all would not have so much problems dealing with it and putting it in its rightful place. Nigeria should disregard Ghana and do what it has to do. God bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

While their President and Ministers are prostrating all over Abuja for Nigeria to forgive them and open the borders. Have you noticed that Ghanaians have gone off social media? They don't have money to buy data again, person wey never chop dey buy data? Even Ghana's President never chop since yesterday's morning. |
