its dicey though because marriage certificate is one of those docs they now use to corroborate info submitted, i noticed this in a GCMS note from a friend where the VO was confused of the job title he provided during marriage and the difference in what was submitted at same period in his personal history... please do all you can to sort it out before submitting. i dont know the approach to this because the conflicting docs you have on age are too vital to make such mistake, others would weigh in their opinions. good luck sesay: 2 Likes |

sesay: I dont think this is a big issue. First of all, which age is correct? If its the one on the Intl passport, good. Just do an LOE to explain the disparity. Others can contribute though . You can as well attach an affidavit to legally support your explanation Shalom 4 Likes |

You need to clarify with us first if any of the conflicting age will drop your points when used. If any will drop your point, then it's more com0licated than you think. sesay: 5 Likes |

Hello. No judgement necessary here as the full details of what transpired are not known (slim chance it was an error). 1) a. You CONNOT legally get it changed (so please don't alter it, else you invalidate the document - as the duplicate copy bears same wrong date). b. You cannot legally obtain a new marriage certificate while this one subsists, although if you choose to do so in a different registry with the same spouse, you MIGHT get away with it (yet not correct). This may however raise issues if any other document (such as newspaper publication, etc.) was already done prior to your new marriage. 2) Simply explain the difference in dates as an ERROR in an LOE which you have made efforts to correct without success, then hope the VO overlooks it. Better than submitting an altered / invalid document that would not stand scrutiny. 3) Meet a lawyer. A friend of mine was asked to support her LOE in a similar case with an affidavit. The description and contents of which a lawyer may advice you better on... These are just my opinions. Again, no judgement. sesay: 15 Likes 2 Shares |

pyruvateluv:it is when the age is in those brackets that reduce crs. I have seen where someone put student as occupation on marriage certificate and the VO noted it was different from personal history. Another one she used her step father as father on the certificate . The vo noted it and she explained her dad died long ago. Under family members section you are to declare dead parents or siblings too . It wasn't there. You know the rest 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Would there be a problem if the wedding date is different from the date certificate was issued? The certificate was issued a month after, nikkah though. Or I should go to the registry for another? |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by tolfa(m): 12:15pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
Just upload the nikkah and registry certificate.no issues at all. A LOE can be added stating that wedding certificate was issued after a month you got married religiously. But the main thing is the evidence of your marriage which is the wedding certificate. Prisscindy: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Luceecarter:In the same predicament. 25 years of age, maxed out IELTS and have professional degree which equals Msc in CRS points. 1 year work experience. Only have 2 options: TEF or wait to reach 3 years experience. Will do the latter cause I don’t have any French background and should I start learning now but the time I will sit and excel in TEF I will be nearing 3 years. 1 Like |

Hello all, kindly assist with your thoughts/views/experience as regards the questions below. We plan to spend xmas and new year in the US before hard landing in Canada. We plan to book a one way ticket for this purpose and then book tickets to Canada from the US (reason being that we cannot make payments from Nigetia for airlines that ply the US -Candada route). Now our questions are 1) will it be a problem at US immigration because of the one way ticket. Bear in kind that I will be visibly pregnant at the time. 2) Aircanada and their counterparts all have lesser baggage allowance than our regular Ethiopia airlines etc. Can we just send our bags via DHL? Or are there other options available. Your views will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance. |

cutiep: Do you have a Canadian PR card yet? Because your questions seem like you do. If not you can't book a one way ticket to another country as a visitor especially when you're visibly pregnant. There would be lots of scrutiny by the port. Airlines do not carry passengers that are over 28/32 weeks pregnant, can't remember which atm, so be sure to check. DHL will be expensive to cargo your luggage, you can use other cargo companies or NIPOST if you send them early enough, takes about 40days. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Pwinkle1(f): 2:27pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
cutiep: I have not landed yet, lol. But based on how pregnant ladies have been treated in the US I suggest you already have your Canada ticket booked and confirmed, just to avoid any stories that touch really. On sending your bags, I think there are other cargo options, maybe you can search the older threads to see what people have done. All the best, and congratulations on your bun in the oven!!! |
