• ‘Africa loses $50b to corruption yearly’ • Presidency, Sani differ on border closure Nigeria’s judiciary has fallen so low that not even saints may salvage it, according to a Senate panel. The panel lamented that the judiciary came to this sorry pass with the attendant high level of corruption because of a paucity of funds. But the panel is hopeful that a special intervention fund could bring sanity to the third arm of government. https://m.guardian.ng/news/why-saints-may-not-save-judiciary-by-senate-panel/

Anybody that is conversant with the total emolument of a federal judge will know that there's is no iota of truth in the above claim. Although, the condition in many states are rather pathetic! |

Buhari made a huge mistake in his first tenure. His first official duty was to go after corrupt judges and clean out the rot in the judiciary. With that, the fight against corruption would have been so much easier. That's assuming he wanted to fight corruption in the first place anyway. 1 Like |

There are countries that are poorer than Nigeria but with noble and incorruptible men on their bench. Injection of funds will definitely not address the root cause of corruption. |
