i have been waiting for CONOIL to drop btw 13.6 to 14.40 so i can buy for a month plus now very difficult, least price i saw to buy were 14.6, 14.7, 15.1.
HOW LONG CAN I WAIT.
LEAST OFFER PRICE IS 14.75 .
Reason for my resistance is that my instinct tells me dividend may be 2.45 naira 2019FY, buying at 14.7 ( dividend yield of 16.67%). my target. i need this target to achieve a special project next year.
comment please
Sir,you cant go wrong with a stock that has a good dividend yield, just ensure other metrics are intact.
Few worries about conoil,it's illiquid,(who cares anyway),and current ROE doesn't look impressive, otherwise its a good stock for balancing portfolio sector ,wise,
It seems to have passed as regards other metrics(not exclusive and may not be applicable to all)
1.Good/fair quarterly results(q1,q2,q3)
2.close to /at 52 wk low
3.PE preferably Less than 5
4.Div yield above 10%
.However its still a buy for me

Very lean! I can only see calf visiting only Access.
GTB, UBA, Zenith were all struggling. With the volume traded in Zenith bank alone, it ought not to close with anything less than 10% today but it merely added less that 3%. So also GT and Fidelity. Im yet to be convinced sha.

If not Transcorp and Wapco. The rest in my portfolio is banks........Acess,fcmb,fidelity,Uba and zenith.

The banking results released so far should bring bull to the sector.Mercy, just hold on,your stocks and others will join later but now the calves are trending on the dividend paying stocks. You should have known this earlier than now.

Just check all oracle's posts on stocks especially the banking stocks.Cp also highlighted on banking stocks also.I pick stocks here from my ogas, don't have time for other stock pick blogs. They even come here to pick points to package themselves (blogs)

Those stocks will only do well on mere sentiments or the general bull will touch them. There is no numbers backing them up for now.

I believe I will sell about 2 or 3 of my stocks and meet uacn at an attractive price. We are now in a game of sell this(high) and buy that(low) or remain where you are for more profits.

The real bull will come late December/January.

The exercise of the discretionary power of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to regulate the economy may soon have a negative impact on the country’s N9.4 trillion pension funds.

The CBN had, in a circular signed by its Director, Financial Markets Department, Angela Sere-Ejembi, directed banks to exclude individuals and local corporates from investing in Open Market Operations (OMO) auctions with effect from October 23, this year.

I tend to agree with Mr. Aghahowa that stated that the PFAs will have to be innovative. They have to find a way to hold sizeable holdings in some of these blue-chip companies like GTbank, MTN, Airtel, Zenith Bank, and Dangote Cement. They will have to be on the Board of these companies to ensure that they have eyes on everything that is going on. They can now devise their own strategy of rewarding investors either by share buyback to ensure that the stock prices are stable and free from unnecessary fluctuations. A serious PFA should be able to transform a company like FBN Holdings. Unfortunately, most managers in this clime just want to work for themselves alone with no outlook for the future.

My Oga you need to get Gtbank in your portfolio. The potential of it to get to N50 or more should not be ignored. It is a destination for any serious investor. I do not also have it because I have always struggled between it and Zenith Bank.

I chose between Gtb and Uba and later go for Uba.If Uba will give me 100%,I will not regret not having Gtb.

Lol. If you say uacn and transcorp, Yes. smiley
...... but Im talking about other sectors aside banking. Look at consumer goods, telecomms, oil & gas, insurance, etc., it doesnt reach those areas. Except the bull will spread to all these areas, then its going to be short lived.
We see how it goes today again.

Lots of uncertainty for now. Not to create panic but if you watch the price movement, its not that impressive. Except something change. My opinion anyway. Just try and watch your back.

The regular names. GTB, Nestle, MTN, Dangcem. PFA's are buying. But in tranches. They're trying to get in without moving the market.
