Maybe they are disposing their Ughelli Power Plant and offering to pay shareholders special interim dividend of 2 kobo.

If at all you want to run, do it 50/50. That's my opinion. smiley

My Oga you need to get Gtbank in your portfolio. The potential of it to get to N50 or more should not be ignored. It is a destination for any serious investor. I do not also have it because I have always struggled between it and Zenith Bank.

What was the last the you see GTB @ 50?

Too much optimism isn't good
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sellydion: 12:16pm On Nov 06, 2019
We would get there, even if it takes 4 years. Anything along the way is part of learning. grin

@50 the dividend yield wont be favorable.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 12:34pm On Nov 06, 2019
the more reason why you will sell and possibly keep the money in Treasury Bills for it to come down again to another entry point. Some years back Zenith Bank came as low as N10 and Gtbank N15. Since that time they have both returned fantastic dividends and if one is still holding you may have no reason to sell. But I am one person that cannot ignore profit at 200 or 300%. Since that period, zenith got to N34 and Gtbank got to N57. Oga Bigjay is a model to watch. Identify a stock that has the potential to do 100 to 200% in a year or 2 years. If it does not go according to plans, you will just be chopping dividends go. Zenith and Gtbank if things continue the way it is will at least pay dividend not less than N2.5 every year for the next 10 years. That is N25

Zenith has sold over 1 billion shares from October 2nd till date and the volume is still coming, who are those offloading and who are those buying?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 12:45pm On Nov 06, 2019
Stanbic Nominees holds billions of shares in zenith and Gtbank in proxy for individuals and corporate investors. The sell and buy may just be these people. Zenith is a buy for me. the results are better and there is a higher chance of a better dividend every year.

As much as I loved GTB more than Zenith in their public offer years of N5 and N10 (same with Zenith then), I didnt think twice when I had enough funds to accumulate Zenith at an average of N16 instead of GTB at N28ish.
I have been enjoying the steady handsome dividends twice every year since then.

Mind you, those offloading are not fools, it depend only on which size of the divide you are. I personally do not think there is going to be a general market bull this year. Infact, we may still witness further lows in the market, except there are some peculiar cases such as irregular boom in oil prices etc.

In fact, some may be selling with the mind of buying back at prices far lower than the current market price. This has been my view since June this year.

Are you serious?

Yes,I sold half of my holding few months ago and today, the remaining units is offered for people to buy and enjoy.I better concentrate on the banking sector for now.

I just pray, there will be good news for Transcorp holders now and in future because what I'm sighting is not healthy enough.Never to touch a volatile stock again especially those with huge Os/dwindling profits.
