So Nigerians would no longer send passports to Accra for stamping again. Effective 4th of November passports will no longer be going to Accra and would be processed and stamped in Nigeria. This would lead to a favourable turn around time.

This should be good news for us right? How come it wasn’t even done in Nigeria in the first place?

Hello does it matter the amount one is paid at work?
For example during my NYSC my PPA paid me 10k per month by cash.
If I get work reference letter from my PPA stating that I was paid 10k by cash will they reject my application based on the fact that the salary is very little?
A year is 120k.
Gurus in the house please help.

Really? And I said it half in jest...
Maybe now their responsibilities have been reduced a bit...maybe we will start to read PPR stories from Accra.

This suggests that the cut off will still be over 470 by the next draw. Wonder when the thing go reach us again.

Are you sure they have received all your necessary documents? and if they have, what is your profile status on the ICES page saying?

They have. They emailed my tracking number after sensing them an email yesterday. My profile says Application complete.

Hello all, kindly assist with your thoughts/views/experience as regards the questions below.

We plan to spend xmas and new year in the US before hard landing in Canada.

We plan to book a one way ticket for this purpose and then book tickets to Canada from the US (reason being that we cannot make payments from Nigetia for airlines that ply the US -Candada route).

Now our questions are

1) will it be a problem at US immigration because of the one way ticket. Bear in kind that I will be visibly pregnant at the time.

2) Aircanada and their counterparts all have lesser baggage allowance than our regular Ethiopia airlines etc. Can we just send our bags via DHL? Or are there other options available.

Your views will be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
What province are you moving to in Canada?
I ask because if it's a border province then you can always just drive down to the states at a later date after landing in Canada.
Driving is preferable to flying because you would have used up your single entry immigrant Visa and you wont be able to enter canada by air till your PR card is delivered to you. (Processing time is about 40 to 50 something days).

If you decide to fly to USA straight, you would be putting yourself at the mercy of the border officer who can very well send you back. You arent a Canadian PR until your landing rights are completed so you may not get a little special treatment from the USA guys.

Again consider the amount of luggage you would be carrying and trying to convince the officer at the USA port of entry that it's just xmas and new year you wanna do.

I can help you make your westjet or canada air payments if you are comfortable with that (just send me a pm) but I strongly advise that you consider your options properly before deciding.

Why dont use the 19800 allawee. Anyways, it wont be rejected, but add a salary certificate to the reference letter since you were paud in cash(this should also be cited on the reference letter too)

you can only adopt a juvenile in nigeria. 20 years is not a juvenile. You also need to be 21 years older than her. Best bet is to hire her under the care giver program while in canada. But you must be capable of paying her minimum wage .

I used the exact amount my PPA paid me because I am not sure the GM will sign it on sighting 19800. Besides the NYSC account used then has closed down since like 3years ago.
What is this salary certificate? Does the GM need to sign it too?

Hello house! Please has anyone submitted their passports to vfs this week? Did you recieve a lagos tracking ID or a Ghana tracking ID?.

I was told by customer service that passports are now being processed in Lagos and not Accra. Can anyone confirm this please.

Use any of the ECA bodies available. I will advise you use WES because it is the fastest at the moment if your school processes your transcript to them on time.
