Full time in Cairo:

#U23Afcon

Egypt win 1-0 vs Mali with one of their only 3 shots on target. Mali lost a couple of chances and had more on target. Mali bossed possession but Egypt were defensively rigid and efficient.

Next up is Cameroun vs Ghana in the next One hour and 5 mins... wink

Very Mali-like

maybe he is not doing something right. relegating players to the bench sometimes brings out the best in them when given a chance

Why can't Amuneke work with this man Rohr? Amuneke knows how to set up his team attacking wise and is quite tactical.

Unless ofcourse we are reasoning a foreign tactical assistant.

Danielnino00:

So that refresher course talk was a lie ??

I dunno why the NFF aren't talking about appointing a better assistant for the man?
The only thing he seems to lack is the tactical knowledge to improve the team...having a good assistant could cover for that..

RESULTS OF NOMINATIONS INTO THE 2019 NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FANS AWARDS SELECTION COMMITTEE.

1. Tbaba1234= 16 Nominations
2. TheSuperNerd= 9 Nominations
3. Bascovanveli= 7 Nominations
4. Safarigirl= 7 Nominations
5. Komekn= 6 Nominations
6. Andrewbaba44=5 Nominations
7. Forgiveness= 5 Nominations

8. Icon4s= 4 Nominations
9. Charlesemeka85= 2 Nominations
10. Chriskels= 1 Nomination
11. DrLikita= 1 Nomination
12. Elyte89= 1 Nomination
13. Humility017= 1 Nomination
14. Joebie= 1 Nomination

From the above the first 7 members in bolds have been democratically nominated by the house to:

1. Select Awards categories
2. Nominate players into different awards categories.
3. Arrange a voting system where nominated players will be voted for by the general house.

Advise:
1. A co-ordinator should be elected/chosen by the committee members.
2. There should be no ambiguity in terms of awards categories.
3. Every member of the committee must make input in the Nominations and it should be as democratic as possible.

As Committee members we believe in your abilities and sense of judge which is why we have Nominated you for the task.

The Selection of awards categories and players will commence on 25th of November and end on 5th December, 2019. This will be after the Benin and Lesotho games as well as the CAF U23 championship would have ended. After which voting can follow.

We thank everyone that took part in this Nominations process. We expect an even better response during the voting proper.

Good Job.

Though I'm New in here but I must confess that the future of the proposed award holds nothing but positivity.

And I want to streamline my interest to reflect the suggestion of the TheSuperNerd too by increasing the committee members Tally to engage the super 8 from the above.

Thanks all for the privilege to put forward my View and for your reading.

You have suggested Well So that by the end of the Next World CUP in the year 2022, Amuneke can successfully inherit the Super Eagles from ROHR

But the problem has always been the NFF Hierarchy.

For they would rather want a foreigner they can boss around as per being New to NIGERIA and the System in existence.

Rather than Former Players that knows everything inside out and thus could prove difficulty.

I want to believe that the reason for OLISEH'S Quiting is not far from the above viewpoint.

Will Amuneke be willing to work under Rohr? I doubt it.
And frankly speaking, Amuneke is the only local coach who is tactically sound enough to handle the team right now...
A foreign assistant may be better...

U made a good point until u got to Oliseh.. He could have succeeded with the team if not for his attitude.... The same attitude cost him his job with fortuna sittard (so we heard ) .. The man simply undid himself...

Oliseh is a very sound coach whom I rate as the best among his peers but his attitude ruined him.

If Oliseh was cool headed and has good man management skills who would have done well and made a name for himself with the super eagles.

Tactically Oliseh is better than Rohr and also more equipped with modern knowledge of the game but what is working for Rohr is his top notch man management skills and also urge to feature the best players in the team.

Oliseh's huge ego is something else and can only be measured with that of late Stephen keshi cheesy

The same ego made his turn down an offer from waasland beveren few days ago

Attitude? I don't think I really know anything negative about his attitude though.

Remember that He wasn't sacked, Instead He voluntarily tendered His resignation letter.

I believe He is a Man that knows His onion and not otherwise.

I don't know if you read about him turning down a coaching job in BELGIUM too?

Perhaps I could be schooled on the presumed bad attitude of his though.

I'm not really sold out on amuneke yet. Though he did well with the Tanzanian national team by qualifying them for the last afcon but he seem shady to me.

They have been alot of accusations on his involvement in player racketting both in the U17 team and his short stint with the Tanzanian national team.

Even if Rohr leaves today I will still prefer an European to take over because of the sake of featuring deserving players in the team rather than succumbing to media pressure and sentiment of allocating a quota to players from the local league and also to satisfy their own selfish wants.

Mind you I am not against having players from the local league in the super eagles but it must be on merit.

Simy Nwankwo with a goal and assist for Crotone as they lead currently 2-0 vs Ascoli in a Serie B fixture.

Yes but the motivation to play in the OLYMPIC SOCCER EVENT is enough for them to bring out the fire power in them ooo

Especially in the group comprising EGYPT, GHANA, CAMEROUN & MALI

With only the top 2 qualifying for the semi-final stage and the finalists plus the 3rd place Teams making it to the quadrennial event next year in Japan though
