Went to see the Dr this morning. After every every, we did scan and I saw my LO. I'm always happy doing scan because I enjoy the view.

Then Dr decided to do a transvaginal scan to check the cervix length. We then saw that the middle of the cervix was open, like a canal and with fluid. Yes the inner and the outer parts were closed but the middle was open. Even the Dr was confused. He said the liquid might drain and the cervix might close but he can't trust it as it might open again. So he's suggesting a cerclage. I felt so bad because he checked the cervix about 5 weeks ago and it was ok.

I was just crying like a baby. I don't know what to make out of this. I feel so down. Hubby travelled and I haven't told him yet. I'm so heartbroken. I was just rocking my bump a few days ago now this?

Please has anyone had such an experience? What could have caused it? Maybe it's the hormones but I can't stop crying

I am very sure there are mamas far older than you on this forum and there may be some you are older than too. I am sure you won't talk this way if you face them face to face.

I am sure there are mamas in their forties and fifties on here with life experiences. Some who have had up to their forth child while some are just having their first child. Sit back and learn dear. Some are lucky to be married at age 22 or 23 while others at age 48 are still praying to God for a life partner. Who are we to judge them? Biblically is wrong to judge people. Only God can judge because He sees us well and the battles and circumstances we have each faced. Be careful dear..be careful.

Even if she has come to seek your advice concerning her marriage you don't have to sound that rude, disrespectful or judgemental to pass your opinion. Jesus teaches about love, if we say we are Christ follower we should try and emulate Him.

To the best of my knowledge, many naija hospitals dont conduct strep B test. It was in an obodo oyibo hospital during my 2nd preg that i heard of it for the first time. Nothing like that in my first.(private hospital in Lagos)

As for pain meds, you really have to ask. Or just kukuma find out about epidural if you feel your pain threshold is low. Cos most pain relief dont do much for labour pain.

Bottomline try not to worry so much. Your body was made to do this

So i was lik doctors shld knw abt it too in Nigeria but she said dey dont do d test... I guess na 4 abroad dem dey do am.... N 4 d pain relief med, sinc it doesnt do much, i dnt tink i wil request 4 it... May we all deliver safely.

Teamie, no cry abeg. I think a cerclage is just preventive and for the safety of the baby . You can still rock your bump wella.
Biko smile cos this nine months journey will not be cut short but you will testify at God's appointed time.

If you know your pain threshold is very low? Biko ask for epidural early enough before you change am for doctors and nurses when contractions hit hard during labor by then it's too late to administer lolz.

no update yet edd is confusing. Doctor gave me February 2, ultrasound gave January 30 but I'm staying with my LMP EDD February 5, since I'm a FTM. Toilet typing tho

May God be with us all and deliver us safely. May we all come out with our beautiful and healthy children singing praises to Almighty God.

Hello sis, how are you feeling now? I will suggest you speak at length with your Dr after which you suggest to him to tell you the best path to follow. Try not to cry OK, thank God you did the transvaginal scan and you got to know about this early. Na something wey no get solution be the worst OK. It is well with you.

Btw did he tell you the length of your cervix?

Also did he check for infection?
