The above statement is only 90% true. There are two exceptions to this sentiment.

1. When there are diverse customers, a producer can ignore the majority of customers to focus on a niche.

2. Art. The artist composes what speaks to him and the customers are invited to see the piece of art. In short, a talented artist draws what he likes and the public will still buy it .



Point number 2 relates to my point about creative directors. Take tron first example- were movie goers asking for a movie where actors were riding a cgi simulation withing a simulation? Was there any movie like tron before tron?
