The Bible has several subjects but Jesus is not one of them! He Himself is the Message of the entire Bible, not one of its subjects.

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” John 5:39 KJV

The right rendering of the above verse from the Greek translation should actually begin with “You”. That is…

“You search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

What that means is that unlike what we may have erroneously believed, Jesus wasn’t actually giving the people of his day a command to “search the scriptures” like the King James translation puts it in that verse. He was rather telling them what they were already doing - albeit wrongly.

The Message translation puts it in a much better way - a way that pricks religious minds.

“you have your heads in your bibles constantly because you think you’ll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These scriptures are all about me!”

Like many people today, the Jews put much effort in the studying of the Scriptures. They actually devote enough time for that. This act is never wrong in itself and is worth emulating as the Scriptures encourages us to study it diligently.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

However in their study of the scriptures in search of Eternal Life (the Salvation that God gives), they fail to realize that this eternal life cannot be found on the pages of a book (and that includes the Bible)

They failed to realize that the purpose the Bible was given was to point men to Eternal Life and not to give the Life itself.

The reason is because the Eternal Life they seek after has been embodied in a Man, God’s own Son - Jesus.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV

Whosoever believes in Him, not the Bible, shall have everlasting life. Again,

“.….Thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:2-3 KJV

This is why the scriptures were given in the first place - to tell men about Him. Everything in the Bible points to Him.

He is not one of those things you come across in the Bible, He is the Mega Deal of the Book. Referring to Him as one of the subjects of the Bible is an insult to His person, He is its Message.

The apostle Philip did not mince words about His personality when describing Him to his brother Nathanael.

“Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, we have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” John 1:45 KJV

He is The Word in the word (John 1:1, 14-15), the express Image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1:3), the full expression of all that God was, is and will ever be. He (not just the Bible), is God’s explanation of Himself (His Character, actions and words) to mankind.

In knowing Him, we have known and gotten all that God wants us to know and have. This is why we are instructed to focus our whole attention on Him.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith….” Hebrews 12:2 KJV

He is the central message of all the Books of the Bible. Let us make a decision to keep our eyes on Him and nothing else.

He is all that God wants us to know, not Moses, not Elijah and certainly not Abraham. Everyone of those men were relevant enough to have their names engraved in the scriptures because of the Message of Christ which they believed and conveyed to their generations. Aside from that, there is nothing so special about them.

In your study of the scriptures, in your search for eternal life, in your understanding of God, make a decision to see no man but Jesus. For everything in the Bible is about Him.

Again I say, it is all about Him and nothing else! Go tell someone.

The bible is all lies. Its a fantasy created for control, to impoverish the masses and keep them humble. No longer are chains and whips required, we can control people thru a promise in a book . The government loves evangelistic preaching . It subdues masses, keeps them paying taxes, makes them docile, humble meek low self esteem folks just waiting till death for some promises they will never get. Provisions, prayer requests, blessings for behavior, recompence for offerings and tithes, fruitful accomplished life , all this and more ....you gotta believe !! Faith and the promise of hope.... I hope none of you actually believed it and wasted your life doing as the bible says! That would be a pathetic waste of life

Its often said, if you want something done right, you'll often times, will have to do it yourself, especially if you want the thing done properly. Something to be done right is exactly what all this is about and so what God did. This whole thing about "a father be so wicked and killed his only son to wash away the sins of ingrates and wicked soul ..." etcetera is a matter of the classsic DIY, aka Do-It-Yourself.

God looked for someone who could build walls or looked for someone to stand in the breach in His presence on behalf of the world so that it won't be destroyed, but He found no one and so God is lumbered with, doing a classic Do-It-Yourself by sending Himself to carry out the redemptive work.

God sent Himself, did send Himself to earth, in the form of Jesus Christ. You do know that, it is not impossible for God to simultaneously be in more than one place at a time (i.e. meaning it is not something impossible for God to do, as in be in Heaven and on earth, at the same time) Note that, Jesus didnt correct people that addressed Him as God, for example, where and when said: "My Lord, My God" to Him. It is because Jesus is God. God as Jesus, gave up His divine privileges. In the post, you forgot to show the old testament description of Jesus. In John chapter 1, it was stated that he was in the beginning with God. In gen 1, we read that the Spirit of God was hovering around the earth. John says he made all things and the Genesis says God said let there be light and God created the light. It has always been two and never 3 in one. Exodus 23v20 is the introduction of Jesus Christ to the Israelites. Behold I send unto you my Angel. Obey his voice and I will bless you. He will not pardon your transgressions. In chapter 24, the Bible says that Moses and the elders saw the God of Israel and ate with him and Jesus is telling us that no one has seen the Lord at any time. Who visited Abraham on his way to Sodom? It was Jesus. Read again the conversation, shall I hide from Abraham.... Daniel saw a vision of the son of man being brought before the ancient of days and all power and dominion was given to him. 1 cor chapter 15 says that the lordship of Jesus over the heavens and the earth, only one being is exempted, God under whom Jesus will be subject to, that God will be all in all. In John, we read that he has blinded our ears and eyes that we may not see and hear and be converted and saved and this was according to the vision of Isaiah when he saw Jesus sitting in the temple and seeking for who to send. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
