drmuri: There are clubs, even strip clubs, cinemas, alcoholic drinks and even prostitution in Dubai. They permit expatriates and foreigners to enjoy these privately, in moderation and under licence. Don't assume they strictly follow what you think about Islamic ethics, go there someday yourself and see how they are able to attract non-Muslim foreigners and investors unlike other Arab nations. The point is that the people are very gradually abandoning the ideology. That is what is bringing about the change. The number of people, especially young people, who no longer trust religion in the middle East is on the rise. There are more apostates (people leaving Islam) now than at any other point in history.
