Such errors are not exclusive to northerners; here are some from southerners too.

Banku and Tilapia, Palava Sauce et all, is from Ghana. Those pictures are from Ghana.

Nothing wrong with the Hausa-English words. They are not an error, but a deliberate communication to a target market population in words that they understand it to be.

If not for you, I'd be trying to figure out the meaning of those words till God knows when.
Damn, I can't believe this. Why didn't they write in Hausa instead?

Those are the equivalent words in Hausa. Every word/name of gadgets is not necessarily present in its original form in every language, especially in societies to which the inventions concerned are not natives. What's so difficult to understand here?

BTW, what are the equivalents of those words in your own native dialect? And do you even have enough in your population to form the critical mass that uses them? The Hausa community obviously has the critical mass to use those words and that's why they are in use and understood. The words are not meant for someone like you who is obviously alien to their culture or society. You have to understand and respect such aspects of humanity.

I think you're the dumbest person for not accepting the fact that whoever wrote those words commited a blunder and should be corrected and you see that thing you just reffered to as local dialect is just an excuse for you to defend the stack illerate who wrote those words down and since its hausa targeting hausa then y'all should keep up with those blunder.

Ode oshi! What does inferiority complex got to do with this Convo cool

We de tell una say error na error u de come talk rubbish for here....

I think you in person have a problem with accepting what is True...

Anyway you know better.

Encourage them to not being better than those blunder.....Oponu!!!

adamx23:

You sound so dumb! The northerners mostly communicate in their local dialect. He's not advertising for you, he's doing it for his people who mostly communicate in Hausa.
I think the southerners are suffering from inferiority complex.

We all make errors both southerners, northerners and Easterners but lets just accept the fact that when it comes to English language it is wrong and a blunder for someone to write a word inappropriately

But it still doesn't decapitate us from speaking or writing English as a language in our own style.

As long u can communicate and the next hausa, yoruba or igbo person can underatand ur Msg then its fine but i wud never agree to anyone saying some words are correct in English simply becuz he/she has a target Audience...fine! But as long it is English and was not written correctly then it is wrong and nothing can justify it as being right...

Then he should have written those words in Hausa?
English is English, there's no Hausaenglish, Yorubaenglish or Igboenlglish.
there no scanning or photocopy in hausa ....hausa is original so modern items are unknown
