Please I have some challenges:

My first job was Dec 2016, I plan to use 4 different jobs for work experience but between those jobs, I have like 2 weeks gap (meaning I didn’t start another job immediately after quitting the present)

I created my profile mid oct, I was on 447, only for me to login today to see 472 which means they used dec 2016-nov 2019 as 3 years

If I accept ITA on Wednesday, what effect might that have on my application?

Also is it mandatory that the exact day of the month when you started work is put in your reference letter?
Has anyone here gotten PPR without the exact resumption day on the work reference letter?

Please help me clear these blind spots.

I’ve done some digging on this issue as it is quite common. It seems the system wrongly “rounds up” to the nearest month

For example :
Someone submits work experience from Jan 18th 2019. By december 1st the system awards the person 1year experience. This is because it takes the whole of jan as 1month even though person only worked 12days and takes whole of december as 1month even though person only worked 1day.

The common advice is to decline such ITAs as they will be deemed invalid eventually. But as someone said, to avoid denying a legitimate candidate an invitation , try to take yourself out of contention for draws till you actually get the full year

I would advice that you accept the ITA if it comes. You did not do the computation yourself, the system did. However, do not submit your application until after the exact date you will complete 3years. Since you have till January to submit your application, you may even submit in January. Just ensure that your AOR comes after you have completed 3 years.

you are assessed as at the ITA date. Risky move. Regardless of what the system say its still your responsibility to ensure its accurate o

@bold is correct, If the AOR comes after completing 3yrs as said by @blissnenye the applicant would be ok because if you calculate the work experience as at AOR and it clocks 3yrs you are good, same thing goes to age

This is wrong. Ednut is actually right. Work experience eligibility is assessed as at ITA and not AOR. What the VO will consider is “were you qualified at the time of the draw to receive the ITA”? If the VO removes the point for 3 years experience from your actual point will you still be eligible to receive the ITA?

Remember you’re responsible for whatever information you give. Regardless of what the system is currently showing. Your letter will probably state different and when the VO calculates based on that...

Another angle to this.

What if the person worked 40 hours per week throughout the work experience period he/she is claiming, shouldn't this fly considering the fact that 30 hrs per week for 12 months equals 1 year work experience? In essence, 40 or 50 hours per week should be more than 1 year work experience.

A scenario: Will January 4, 2010 to December 31, 2011 count as 1 year work experience or not? Note that January 1 - 3 are off.

Your thoughts?

I was faced with the same issue some weeks ago. After extensive research, the best decision to take was inconclusive. All through my research, I didn't see a car of rejection or a case where someone scaled through. But in reality, everything depends on the VO. A lenient VO will overlook it while a harsh VO can see it as not a complete 3 years and decline your application.

So the best bet is to adjust your profile to delay ITA till it clocks 3 years since your scores us very high. Ibdont think this thing is worth the risk. It will make you sleep better will during the waiting period.

This was what I had to do.

Sorry about this but this happened to me when I sent my statement of result hellofax as WES can be really dramatic I had to notify my school to send them a copy of my certificate, good thing was I had not collect it and it was still with them since I finished so I travelled down, processed collection and paid for a copy to be sent to WES
Now I assume the initial notification on document receipt by WES was probably the SOR you faxed to them and probably it wasn’t legible or something and they must have probably doubted the authenticity hence the request from your school directly as in my case the part of school name was slightly covered by the sticky note I used to tag the document with my reference number....

shegs637:
Please house, small issue here. I paid for my school (uniport) to send my transcript on Friday, November 1st and sent a fax of my statement of result using hello fax.com that weekend. I got a status update that my documents were received on Monday 4th November (is it even possible for the parcel to arrive that fast?!). On the 6th,the update on the WES app was "Your credentials are being evaluated" and today I got a "Transcript Rejected" message. Did I do something wrong? Or is this normal? Thanks in advance.

I'm in a kind of similar situation right now.
* I've collected my certificate. How best can I fax that to WES directly without issues?

* Is there any preferred means school can use to send transcript to WES. So I can influence such. My school can be very funny at times.

* And it is compulsory to send O'level certificate to WES. If yes, it is the certificate which I've already collected?

Please help me clear these blind spots.

You can accept the ITA and submit your documents after you fully clock 3 working years experience in December- must be within the time frame given to submit- Please, one of the most important things is ensuring that all your reference letters have the exact date you started work, especially the one for December; along side other REQUIRED information. What can lead to rejection in such situations is either not completing the intial Minimum one year Experience in the same NOC or ambiguous reference letters.

PS- Certain information are not locked untill AOR.

Just to clear your doubts you can try contacting a well known Canadian immigration lawyer that offer consultation or IRCC directly.

Thanks for your response. I'll wait for a few more days to see whether my school will send the hard copy to WES cos I attached a copy of my statement of result to my application. Once again, thanks for your response.

* Use hellofax.com and make sure you include your WES reference number on the certificate.

* This can differ per school, but they're most likely going to use courier. I would advise you to get a contact in your school that can update you when needed. You can search the thread for contacts, as some have been posted earlier.

* It is no longer necessary to include O Level certificate.

Hope this helps!

You can also try contacting WES stating that it was your SOR you sent, not your academic transcript. This could save some time

If one had a month holiday/leave while working but still has excess of 3 years experience, should the reference letter clarify it or LOE should do that?

Start and end dates I suppose if one is currently not working for the organization. The leave was for one month, saying because most people say they get 2-3weeks leave.

Standard leave days differ from company to company and level to level. A banking officer may be entitled to 20 working days while that of a Manager may be 30 working days.
