They are two different rom for two different purposes.

Fastboot rom wipes your phone clean, useful when switching between China and global.

Recovery rom is just the normal one you download to update your phone

Ok thanks for the clarification, never used MIUI for upto a week. once I get my phone I flash recovery straight and start jumping from RoM to ROM till I find the one I like. Been using RN5 I never see reason to yet. Custom development for the phone is fantastic.

I have downloaded global rom miui 10 for mi9t pro. The drivers in the miflash would not install. I have disabled to driver signature still yet the same dialogue box comes up.

Guys please I'm trying to install ADB so I can flash TWRP but I keep getting this.
After installing ADB, I tried to see if it worked. I typed adb devices, it didn't show that my phone was connected.
And then I typed fastboot devices. Nothing showed. Please what am I doing wrong?

Good afternoon all pls I tried installing crdriod on my redmi note 7, but after boot up it requested for password to decrypt data but when I tried my password it kept on saying wrong password, I had to format data and reinstalled xiaomi.eu before I could get the phone working again. I lost all my data in the process (thank God for backup). Pls how do I prevent a reoccurance? I mean the phone requesting for password to decrypt data?

Miui roms encrypt your phone. You'll need to decrypt if you are leaving. No solution as far as I know on Twrp. Then flash disable force encryption zip file.

Maybe other recoveries have devised a means

I think it's base on rom, but normally when you unlock bootloader and flash custom ROM the system will ask for your last password or pattern, you use before you flash and unlock.
but I notice something strange sometime back when I flash a particular ROM, it ask for pattern and my failsafe have always been password, I had to flash another ROM since I couldn't find a work-around it
