[quote author=buddy221 post=83711945]Its always different thing travling on a Student Visa and travling on visitors visa. Op your case is different ...no special thing about it. I've a friend in stugart he is making more money than you. This whole thin is all about your planning. I believe anybody who love you will always discourage You about travling on short visa and planing on over staying because you are bound to suffer. In this case i think there advise is valid and on point. Your Chances of succeeding as an illegal migrant is 80:20. No family will ever discourage its relatives not to go and study abroad when opportunities occour. Alot Of people are suffering in Germany or other parts if Europ because they are illegal. I'll still discourage my love one not to travel illegally. Reason with me.

One of the things you will notice when you arrive in Germany is that Chicken is so cheap. with only 2.5 Euros, you can buy full frozen chicken at Netto market (my favorite super makt)
2.5 Euro is almost nothing here because a day at work will give you tens of euros. Imagine when you work 4hrs a day even at the rate of 10 euros per hour, that is 40 Euros just within 4hrs in a single day, you see why person wey ever discourage anyone to come Germany for studies is not a good person?

Secondly, from experience, I noticed that Germans are really helpful when you are searching for direction but you really need Google map here, its very important and also sabi how to use Google map because everly you go miss road when you come here new. Google map is your friend here and almost everyone here even the indigenes use it.

For lectures, you have to know thyself and register the courses you can do. Don't register for 10 courses when you no too sabi book or when you spend many hours working otherwise you mess up your grade because courses here (especially science-related are really more complex than what you are used to in Nigeria).
Remember your total G.P target should not be less than 2.5 German grade coupled with your internship and at least B2 language skill to be more employable after your studies.
For me, despite the fact that I am academically above average, I still registered for only two courses and then paid for intensive German class and use the remaining free time for WORK WORK WORK.

I will talk about Sex in Deutschland tomorrow if I am free.
Gute nacht Alle

I will start processing this German stuff next year.

But I have a question OP, how do you cope with the language barrier?

Ask your questions here and believe me, I will give you all the answers from my little personal experience

Okay tanks,my B.Sc was geophysics with a cgpa of 2.67,my first question is how flexible in the job market geophysics, geology is in the job market in Germany is it okay I continue my MSC in Germany also doing same geophysics as I am thinking of choosing another course relating to IT DAT still have connection with geoscience, something like data management etc
2) my main aim is to get a job after MSC,is not like I'm suffering to eat here in naija or shelter etc,I can decide to hang on to wait for job over here but naija as it seems now is so unpredictable and age is not by anyones side, what are the things to consider in my job search after my MSC,bkaux DAT is the main reason For me wanting to leave naija, not to hussle
since you're there and also doing my course I have deemed u overly fit to guide me tru this as I intend traveling 2020,intend ryting ielts Feb time and start processing things, please help me with credible and good information so I won't make mistake, especially my course choice, tell me the best to do since you're in Germany and the labour market demands
I really appreciate your response Mr basalt when free, thanks in anticipation..

Nice Questions.
Well, I have not yet graduated and got professional jobs but I think I already have the idea from the intensive research I did even before application.

First of all, I will start by telling you that you should be worried about getting MSc admission first because your GP is on the lower side (if actually 5 is your maximum scale)
Most German schools demand 2.5 German scale (This is the formular for converting your GP to German scale =Nmax-Nattained/Nmax-Nlowest) x3+1.
I did a quick calculation on your GP and got 2.747 German scale which is below 2.5. Most schools will send you rejection mail unless you have practical experience related to your course to back it up. Thats why I said you should first think about how to get admission with GP less than 2.5 German scale (Nigeria highest is 5 while German highest is 1), though its very much possible but usually harder.
Note that in Germany, the smaller the grade the better.
1,0-1,5 sehr gut
(very good: an outstanding
achievement)
1,6-2,5 gut (good: an achievement which lies
substantially above average requirements)
2,6-3,5 befriedigend (satisfactory: an
achievement which corresponds to average
requirements)
3,6-4,0 ausreichend (sufficient: an
achievement which barely meets the
requirements)
4,1-5,0 nicht ausreichend / nicht bestanden
(not sufficient / failed: an achievement which

Secondly, I think data management is IT course and not so related to Geophysics. I doubt you can get admission in MSc Data management with a BSc in Geophysics. If you wanna change carrier, you start from the scratch (B.Sc) and mind you that most Data management MSc courses are not tuition free, so you have to be prepared for tuition fees.

You made mention of professional jobs being the main reason you wanna migrate to Germany. I perfectly understand your point. If you are a registered member of linkedin, you will see many Geoscience vacancies in Germany which shows that Geoscientists are still in demand but the question is ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
The first step to qualification is knowing GERMAN to atleast B2, having practical skills which you can get from the industry during your internship, attending seminars and making connections etc.
Truly, there are more opportunities for those in IT field but also know that Indians are mostly in IT and they are very good in IT so you must also be ready to equip yourself and compete with them in the job market.
Let me also tell you something you have not thought about.
Don't you think you can stay in Germany as a student and raise millions of naira (which is not easy to raise in Nigeria) and still graduate with a good GP, then in the worst case scenario if getting professional job in the country fails due to limited opportunity for your course or due to your inability to possess what they need, you can use the millions of naira to migrate to other countries that have more opportunities for your course?
Countries like Canada, USA, Australia, Norway all have good opportunities for earth scientists due to their wealth in Oil deposit and kerogen.
So you have nothing to lose in Germany if you have a good GP and practical skills and save money for possible migration when you encounter worst case scenario.
Before the end of my MSc program, I am targetting atleast 5million naira savings that even if the worst happens which is not our portion, I can use the money to finance myself and explore other countries.
My number one aim of leaving Nigeria is to be a citizen of a first world country. If Germany don't give it to me through the process of getting professional job or marriage, then I try other countries. My heart will rejoice wheneever I get any of the following international passport
Germany or Australia or America or Canada or UK or any passport of any good and sane country to retire with my children.
Returning to Nigeria to base after studies is not an option at all and I know for sure that God will grant me of my heart desire. I don't know about you but I am working towards possessing a first world international passport to add to the Nigerian own I already have so that I can easily migrate whenever I need even in my old agegrin grin grin,

Does work experience and professional certifications count for the M.Sc application?

I studied a science course, but my work experience/professional certifications has been in an entirely different field. Would it in any way affect as I'm tailoring my application with respect to my experience?

I plan on getting the IELTS form this week

In most schools, you have absolutely no problem securing an MSc admission even without any work experience in your field provided you have a good GP (Most Top German schools prefer 2.5 and above German scale which is equivalent to 2.95 and above Nigerian University scale).
I never had any Nigerian work experience related to my field apart from doing IT in a borehole company.
Nevertheless, if your GP is lower than the expected bracket, your professional work experience, motivational letter, achievement, etc might be considered depending on the school, its always advisable to visit the university website for explicit information regarding admission requirements.
Working in a field outside your course of study doesn't have any flavor in MSc admission consideration.
Also, you guys should be aware that German schools usually have restricted and non-restricted courses. Restricted courses are usually very competitive and it's very risky applying only to restricted courses if you desperately need admission to process your visa

THE GERMAN SEX

You are likely gonna experience involuntary celibacy for a long period of time (depending on your sharpness and social level) on getting to Germany and believe me, the konji wey dey here is higher than that of Nigeria because when cold comes, naturally you go need to hug something or somebody to keep you warm and when there is nothing to hug or somebody to keep you warm, konji will mess you up especially if you are like me that was sexually active in Nigeria.
When I was in Nigeria, I was beclouded with the mentality that white girls love black guys but on getting to Germany, I found out that it's not entirely true. I don't know about other countries but in Germany, girls will usually smile at you, answer you politely when you miss the road and ask for direction, she might even direct you with her google map to your direction but all these things na courtesy.
Don't take it as greenlight. She usually (from my experience and the experience of my fellow guys) might even collect your number but never message you unless you are the first to message.
The chatting later gets boring and any slightest provocation might lead to blocking. It might be working for others, but it has not yet worked for me.
As a sharp guy, I initiated a conversation with two white girls during our fresh bird's party and collected their numbers hoping to have my first white sex but my effort was dulled and bruised.
I invited one of them to my house but she replied Why should I come to your house when we are not friends?
Not minding that we have chatted on WhatsApp for weeks. Here, the mentality of girls are so different. Its not actually racism, some of them don't really feel like dating blacks just as you wouldn't feel like dating everybody.

Fast-forward to matter the topic of discussion, I later met a beautiful Nigerian girl inside the train and went and sat beside her, we greeted and started chatting and I discovered that she is even in the same school with me. As we were discussing, I intentionally missed my stop just to keep the discussion flowing and moreover I no dey pay for train since I have my semester ticket.
we later reached her stop and I asked for her German number and she dropped it instantly when she stood up to leave, we waved goodbye to each other and I noticed she possess a very nice Ass and hip (Not too big but perfectly matches her body).

We became more intimate after the encounter and occasionally attend events together. One day, I attempted holding her hands when we wanted to cross road and she didnt object and as she no object after crossing, I told her that I feel like holding her soft hand forever and she burst into laughter while taking the hand off my palm. I found out that the relationaship flows unlike my guys still chasing shadows with white girls grin who they are trying hard to please.
I invited her to my place, and on the appointed day, I cleaned my house, the television etc, bought some nice chicken burger and MacDonald Icecream with beef pepper soup as backup incase she wanna bite something, bought fruits like Apple, Berry etc and arranged my bed in the most attractive way while making sure that the air freshener was active.
My room looked perfect and the background music was low and very romantic.
15Mins after arranging my apartment, my bell rang and I started sweating in happiness like sheep wey dem dey cut em hair. I quickly pressed the unlock button and few seconds and went downstairs to meet my supposedly angel, only to see my Classmate Okonkwo smiling sheepishly with his school bag.
Immediately, my face changed.
Me: Guy how far na?
Okonkwo: I dey bro, this one wey you put on your Christmas wear, hope all is well?
Me: Bros abeg, e no dey do me as e dey do you now, wetin dey happen na?
Okonkwo: Make we enter inside first, no rush...
Me: (Sluggishly leading the way into my room with utmost dissapointment...)
Okonkwo: (excitedly).....Omoh ehhh, your room make sense. chaiii, e be like say na tomorrow i go even go sef, make I crash for your place today
Me: Crashigbuo onwe gi ebe anwa (meaning crash kill you there)...Abeg wetin bring you come without even giving me a call earlier.
Okonkwo; Craze guy. E get one graph wey I no sabi as the lecturer take plot am and even how he got the porosity of the formation.
Me; (I started thinking to myself.........which kind nonsence be this, I be graduate assistant abi na village people send this guy come block my parol? why must it be now?)
As I was thinking on how to escape this unexpected dilemma, I recieved a message from Jenny, the expected angel.......

gist to continue later, make I prepare for 8:30 lecture....

Your work experience has been in insurance firm but not your degree. I have never heard that someone did BSc in Biology and then jumped to a totally different course like insurance for MSc.
You usually get admission for MSc which is in line with your previous educational qualification

I studied industrial mathematics (computer science option) with cgP of 3.3 which I believe will be acceptable

Secondly, how long does it take to finish the MSC program in Germany and how many years Visa do they issue

Thirdly, is it guaranteed that one can easily get side hustle that can be fetching you mony like that of your own while studying?

I really enjoyed this write up as it was sincerely true, one of my big paddy wasted 3 years looking for a white woman to marry, baba even bleached and gymed all in the bid to look more attractive, he even started dating orobos, single moms, very unattractive women all in the hustle to score, baba even recieved insults and took shi.t he won't normally take, he later settled with one that divorced him after 1 year, he couldn't even get the papers nor "prestige of dating a whitey" he had to come back home and pick a good girl, something that his mates had long married from 9ja here and collabo"d together and gotten PR, in essence I advise my men them just be you and roll freely, if you find love fine, but no go kill yourself because it's mostly never all that you think it would be, you think 9JA girls are feminists? Basalt:

Oya come and complete it o

You never see something.
But all the aforementioned are not rampant in USA or UK maybe germans still have alittle bit racist in their blood

It actually happened in Australia, I don't think it has anything to do with racisim but more like preference, most black guys delude themselves that white girls are always desperate for bbc but most times if you aren't an athlete, rich and flashy they mostly aren't intrested coupled with the bad rep blacks in general exhibit, though there are plenty exceptions.

This was also discussed in the living in Canada thread some days ago. Some of the posters thought that the white girls have craze in the head. Some do actually but most do not. It's just that new arrivals don't understand the culture and the whole dating scene. It's nothing about being racists. Same applies in the UK (lived there for a while). I think alot of non-western black men are confusing the porn industry with reality.

Would white girls date black guys? Of course, she would date if she likes you, and you are compatible culture wise,
gets to know you well to understand your culture and you understand hers, and definitely not because of that thing in your pants. Often times, the non-western accent is also a turn-off to some. You chat okay via text or whatever but the moment she senses that you are non-western, that is the end. My roommate when I was studying in the UK was a British born Nigerian. My guy changed girlfriends (oyinbo) every 4months or so without
the girls ghosting him.

The most common white women that won't mind dating irrespective of whether you come from the moon or from Mars, and are purple in complexion or stink like a skunk: are the big (complex), not fine(complex), sluts, junkie, rejected, on a revenge mission, sexually twisted (cokhold) , etc. You can be lucky to find one of those listed above. Just ensure you wrap up well.

Though I have only visited one country since the arrival to Germany (due to time constraint) My friend in Hamburg flies to countries like mad. He has been to London, the USA, Canada, Paris. Name it. He is a big-time traveler, though he has been here for a long time and has really saved money.
It's very much possible to travel to USA and Canada while still a student in Germany but you need a visa for that (which is not difficult to get as it is to get from Nigeria).
Some people after their studies in Germany and saving millions of naira will migrate to Canada using the express entry route, obtain permanent residency and settle down or move to America and work with the permanent residency of CANADA.
Like I said, you will never regret coming to Germany to study unless you no play your wing very well

SOME MISTAKE NIGERIANS MAKE IN GERMANY

1. Not learning the language. Most of my coursemates didn't register for a German language course here or even learned it from Nigeria before coming to Germany. Unless you plan to base in an English speaking country after graduating, it's unwise not to learn Deutsch before graduating.
2. Not possessing any relevant skill. Most Nigerians here don't bother doing an internship in firms related to their field because most firms will prefer those that can speak German (which they can't) and as a result, end up graduating without any industrial experience or even language skills.
3. Chasing rats and leaving the Elephant Most Nigerians here chase rats leaving out the Elephant. They have that Essau mentality of immediate satisfaction. Always trying to make money by all means while forgetting that part-time jobs are not professional jobs. I understand that many people came here with loan and there is need to pay it back but immediately you start putting all your energy on part time works forgetting the three most important things which are your studies, Gernman language, Industrial experience/Skills. This attitude will make your education suffer, you will learn no Deutsch and have no skills to fetch you the professional job you need. And most of them end up starting over again and funny enough making the same mistake. Thats why you see some people that have been here for 8yrs achieving nothing because though they make money, some waste it on vacations and other irrelevancies. You have to study the system, know what they need and go for that.
Is parttime job what you intend to do forever? If the answer is NO, then think twice.
4. Relating only with fellow blacks. Inasmuch as its good to relate with your brothers but the fact is that you need Germans to remain in Germany. You need to act like them, speak like them, think like them, behave like them in other to be like them.
