What's the fate of badagry express road to mile 2

Its better to finish ongoing projects and get accolades for a job done than have multiple unfinished work
I don´t really get the rational behind this road. We can´t even maintain our internal roads. The Badagry road that connect the country to several W.Africa countries is a deathtrap that the govt is finding difficult rehabilitating. Who are the advisers of this govt.?

Will the road pass through Sudan before getting to Algiers?

Believe such at your own peril.

Let FG finish work on any of the following first.

Lagos - Badagry Exp, Lagos - Abeokuta Exp, or Lagos - Ibadan Exp. Roads.

FG have been on these for over 30yrs now but still in gory and dilapidated state.

I think it's high time for FG to stop this shadow chasing.

But they eventually get the work done, for example, CCECC in northern states like Kano and Kaduna state work even on Saturday and Sunday's, not the Sam for Julius Berger.. and the asphalt they use is top notch

Who will do business with Nigeria and not be corrupt? Even the CCECC are very corrupt
Re: Fashola Says Abuja-Algiers Road To Be Completed In 3yrs by Asnafsaeed(m): 11:39am On Nov 13, 2019
Sha u have a point... it's just that what I'm seeing here in the north, it wasn't the Julius Berger of before.. their work rate is getting slower over the years, that's why I think most governors are patronizing CCECC nowadays, coupled with the cost(not the ones inflated by politicians) and loans
CsRockefeller:

Is that so?

Have you been to the newly constructed Ikorodu road handled by CECC during Fashola's tenure?

Road wey we borrow money do, never reach 7 years don spoil finish.

Now compare it with the Mile 12 (from Mile 12 down to surulere constructed by Julius Berger in the 80's and you will see that shoe get size.

Have you also seen Lasu road of recent don by the same Chinese?

Julius Berger are still d best anyday, anytime.

Look at the level of work being done by them at the Lagos Ibadan expressway.

You get buy years of experience o!

If you can kindly complete the roads within Nigeria first such as the East-West Road, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, 2nd Niger Bridge to mention a few which are way shorter in length than the proposed road, then we will believe you Mr Dishnourable Minister of Works and Housing.
Same way this n***a said that Badagry-Mile2-Iganmu and Lekki-Epe expressways would be completed within his tenure as Lagos State Governor.

Lying piece of s**t.

Is it not what your government or contractor told them to do? Or will you blame the construction company for using inferior materials when they’re actually paid for inferior works by your so called politicians and head of agencies? Common wake up!
Re: Fashola Says Abuja-Algiers Road To Be Completed In 3yrs by naptu2: 12:35pm On Nov 13, 2019
There seems to be some misunderstanding. Nigeria is not funding the construction of a road from Lagos to Algiers.

This road is part of the Trans-African Highway network and each country is only responsible for the stretch of road within its territory.

In the case of the Lagos-Algiers Highway, Nigeria is funding the construction and maintenance of the sections within its territory and Algeria is also funding the construction and maintenance of the section within its territory. Organisations like the United Nations, the African Development Bank and the African Union are assisting the other countries to fund the construction and maintenance of the sections in their territory.

The Trans-African Highway Network was proposed by United Nations experts in the 1960s and on 1 July 1971 Robert K. A. Gardiner, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), established the Trans-African Highway Bureau to oversee the development of a continental road network.

The 9 highways are:

1) Cairo - Dakar Highway

2) Lagos - Algiers Highway

3) Tripoli - Windhoek Highway*

4) Cairo - Gaborone Highway*

5) Dakar - Ndjamena Highway

6) Ndjamena - Djibouti Highway

7) Dakar - Lagos Highway

8 ) Lagos - Mombasa Highway

9) Beira - Lobito Highway

* Note that South Africa was not a member of the OAU when this plan was made and sanctions had been imposed on it due to its apartheid policies. Therefore, it was not included in the project initially. However, the highways that have an asterisk beside their names will now terminate in either Cape Town or Pretoria.

As you can see, this is not a new plan and you would be forgiven for thinking that all the highways should be complete by now, but that's not the case.

Some African countries have experienced wars and other forms of conflict that have hindered the construction of these highways. In the case of Nigeria, the main problem has been the maintenance of the highways, as you can see from the Badagry Expressway, which is part of the Lagos - Dakar Highway. A 2003 NEPAD report on the Lagos Algiers Highway also touched on the problem of maintenance:

In Nigeria the situation for maintenance funding has been extremely difficult for the last three years with only a fraction of actual maintenance requirements being funded. The result has been that practically no maintenance has been carried out. The reasons for this is that there has been a decision to fundamentally revamp the funding mechanisms, but the implementation has been slow with practically no financing as a result. This affects the whole road network and not only the Trans Saharan Highway sections.

I think the northern region generally have better roads because of small number of trailers and cars that ply the roads.. and less rain fall

FIX the many bad Nigerian roads first.
angry

I wonder how south Easterners will travel this Christmas. Between Otukpa (Benue State) and OboloAfor(Enugu) is so bad that trailers have taken over n You can stay stationary for hours.

9th Mile to Awka is bad.

Between Ajaokuta, just after Geregu Power PLC to Niger bridge is bad (Kogi).

Okene-Obajana-Asaba road is bad.

Lagos-Ibadan expressway is bad.

East-West Road (Warri to PH) is bad.

The only State in the South East with good road is Ebonyi. I saw for myself and agree that Dave Umahi has transformed Ebonyi.
If you see the concrete road that won't go bad anytime soon from Ohazzara (EZza axis) to boundary with Nenwe (Aninri LGA of Enugu State) and other bridges, mansion-like secondary schools, modern markets, flyovers and so on, you will be amazed. I ask, is it not the same allocation other Governors get that Dave Umahi is getting, yet doing wonders?

The federal Road from Biase to Calabar is Bad.We wonder how tourists will fare plying that road to attend Calabar Carnival this year. Well, they may sand fill it soon (temporary measure) cos in naija, anything is possible.

Calabar to Ikom through Obubra to Obudu/Ogoja is bad.

The federal road, from Awka to Umunze is bad.

The Federal Road between Onitsha (Awada) to Mgbidi is bad (some sections).

Owerri-Orlu Road is bad.

Enugu-Umuahia is bad and Aba--PH section is a no go area. Travelers have to pass through Owerri instead of driving a shorter Enugu-PH.

Orlu- Ihiala road is bad (section from Banana junction, Orlu to Total filling station, Ihiala).

Owerri to Imo Gate (boundary with Abia) is bad.

And other roads so numerous to mention.

After traversing many States in Nigeria, I concluded that roads in Northern Nigeria is better.

Notice any difference between what the journalist wrote and what Fashola actually said?

The Nigerian news media don't educate, they publish and peddle falsehoods, twisted and fraudulent headlines for traffic and relevance.

It's getting out of hand especially how they try to outdo other trashy news outlets outrageous and outlandish rubbish.

It's sad..
