My fellow nairalanders I am here to seek your advice, I am presently working as an administrative assistant and my salary is fifty thousand naira only (50,000) but as it is now the standard of living in Lagos is very high, I can't get married and build a family with 50,000.

I have saved up 600,000, please what business can I start up in lagos with that amount?

A friend suggested opening a Bet 9ja betting centre that he makes up to 100k weekly, please I need more suggestions please.

In all you do, don't try betting business.
I know they do get some huge amount sometimes but I don't know how they do it, they also have off days for a long period, and I've not seen anyone willing to disclose the reason for the off day and the potential loss.
I've seen some that made it from it and still sold off their terminals at the end to venture into other biz, some are also into other biz that cushion the effect of the off day

Hmmmmm
So my honest advice
Having been in both business and corporate world.
DO NOT INVEST YOUR 500K INTO ANY BUSINESS
Take a part of it say like 200k to try out the business
When U successful, na the profit U go take do turnover
If U use the 500k and U fail, hmmmmmm
Guy, if anything happen
U would have nothing to fall back on....
So use ur sense
I don't have any business I can tell U to do cos no how no how, U must fail at any business initially.
It is a must
Very certain...
Na when U fail and U start again
U go fit master the business
GOOD LUCK

first question - are you ready to leave your job to manage the business?
because nigerian employees if not directly supervised will rob you blind
unless you have a way of tracking the money being made, and the power to deal with employees who steal from you, you may find the business is 'not making money'

a business that i see that always makes money is a car wash. get a good source of water, a sign, compressor, proper soap and rags and you are in business. but how do you track number of cars washed?

Keep your money. If your job does not allow you to oversee the business, keep your money until you can get the chance to oversee the biz ...if not, you will lose the 600k in a flash...

Forget about bet9ja biz . If you can't monitor it, the cashier's will send you back to your village

Find a good estate agent and he will suggest some beer palours or lounges where the owner is requesting just about the same amount for a year lease or so. Nothing on this planet can make you money than money you make from hospitality ( people tryng to enjoy themselves)

I had the same amount 600k before i invested the money in a lounge and i made the money back within one month

Also im looking for a business partner to take over another hotel on a lease too so bro this is the best advice i have for you

If you thin your 600k is too small, you can DM me so we can combine resources

We rise by lifting others

Its better to make money using an already established business than to go and be opening bet9ja shop anywhere so message me for more details or reply to this so everyone see how we are about to make crazy money

Make it up to 700k and get yourself a Keke Napep. When you close from work, you ride it for about 2hours and weekends also.
Do not quit your job.

Storage business. Look for experienced person in that field. It might be your Mum in the Village. Inquire about fio fio , melon, honey, red oil and cocoa.

NB: You must look for experienced person in storage.
They make a lot money most times; some time they loose. That is why you must go for products that do not perish easily. Last year people that stored melon, sold with more 100% interest.
