somehow:Humility017 come and hear ooo. 1. There is no two way about it that AKPEYI doesn't inspire confidence on the back four 2. He Lacks positioning intelligence 3. He spills Ball anyhow like an amateur 4. what he has is club duty consistency and the advantage over other Goalkeepers 5. The advantage has been relatively less productive at the SE level of the 1st 3 shortcomings above time without number. 6. Hence my decision to asked if it was an Own goal? for the blame was on the defense 7. Or whether it was because of his poor positioning yet again as a good positional Goalkeeping would always save the day when any defense falters in reality. 8. Safarigirl had also acknowledged earlier that his club stats hasn't translate to any meaningful success for the SE of NIGERIA oo and I quite agree with that absolutely. So, In essence, it's not about unnecessary or blind criticism ooo. 1 Like |

All the staff of NTA port harcourt, should be lined up and kobokoed one after the other. Then the cameraman and the commentator should be shot on sight. Come on, we know you are handling a 92 nek video camera, but positioning the damn thing at fans for straight two minutes, leaving the match that was going on is something I still can’t understand. Then you have a commentator that has lost touch with 21st century happenings, yapping gibberish like it’s no mans business. The rot in this country is beyond redemption, Nigerians will skin them alive on Twitter 1 Like |

NPFL NextTV: It's A Production Deal, Not A TV Deal For the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, aside crowd violence, sponsorship issues, officiating and league resumption postponement. One major bane of the NPFL is having matches live on TV. The organisers of the NPFL, the League Management Company, LMC has over the years struggled to maintain the TV right deals from a foreign TV outlet to a local TV medium, thereby finding it difficult to have the first division football league in Africa's most populous country on live on TV to the fans. However, after the first match day of the NPFL 2019/20 season, news broke that the LMC have signed a 5-yr contract deal with NextTV that would see the league on TV amidst other multiple sponsors to boost the commercial values of the league. Thus on Tuesday, the LMC via its chairman, Shehu Dikko in a media parley at the company's office in Abuja while explaining the deal stated that, "The first phase of distribution is to commence through OTT Platform in partnership with 9mobile. "Commercialization of NPFL Rights to generate enough revenues into the system with NPFL earnings hugely optimized". Meanwhile, the Next TV Chairman, Prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim said, "We are going to go beyond OTT andq with time ensure we have quality contents that can project the NPFL". "We are not restricting it. We want to drive the projection of NPFL through OTT and digital technology and share the content with others who will be willing to use it whether it's terrestrial, cable within and outside Nigeria. Once you carefully read the above, the key word right there is OTT which effectively does not directly mean an actual TV deal which many Nigerians expected. What then is OTT and how does this benefit Nigerians who wishes to watch their various NPFL sides on TV. Over the top (OTT) media service is a streaming media service offered directly to viewers over the Internet. OTT bypasses cable, broadcast and satellite television platforms that traditionally act as a controller or distributor of such content. The term is most synonymous with subscription-based video on demand services that offer access to film and television content (including existing series acquired from other producers, as well as original content produced specifically for the service). OTT television, usually called online television or internet television or streaming television, remains the most popular OTT content. This signal is received over the internet or through a cell phone network, as opposed to receiving the television signal from a terrestrial broadcast or satellite. Access is controlled by the video distributor, through either an app or a separate OTT dongle or box, connected to a phone, PC or television set. Consumers can access OTT content through Internet-connected devices such as phones including Android, iOS, and Windows-type mobile devices. As of 2019, Android and iOS users make up more than 45% of the total OTT content streaming audience, while 39% of users use the web to access OTT content. Explanation gotten?. If No, here is it in simple terms, "You can only watch the NPFL via live streams on the internet" at least for this season, if not beyond. It remains to be seen how the LMC hopes to achieve this putting into consideration the nature of an average NPFL follower who might find it difficult to stream live games while having in mind his/her data subscription and even the quality of service provided by the Nigeria network system. On the long term, it's a big deal for the LMC and NPFL at large, if properly harnessed as this makes the league available to anyone, anywhere in the world which would further project the gospel of the Nigeria Professional Football League. The LMC is working, we hope this deal works too. 1 Like 1 Share |
