Whites have the advantage of constant electricity in their countries. The solutions that I proposed will be very unique to Nigeria but can be scalable.

Using renewable (free) energy from the sun to power elevators in tall buildings. It can be done. If I had the money, I will do it.

If you are still following this trade, it's great.

Plenty. I might be in Ebonyi by weekend. Just came back to Enugu from Owerri, Imo state, passed Mbaise and spent a few hours in Umuahia yesterday. Now in Enugu and moving to Anambra this afternoon.

May God bless you all.

I passed through the Enugu-Onitsha express way on my visit to Awka last week.
The progress in that road is still slow. The contractors seem to be focusing on one half of the road in a snail speed manner over the other section.
When I passed through Umunya (Odumodu junction) I noticed the right section of the road have been completed way down to Awkuzu junction. The other section is uncompleted. And then from Igbariam you notice same thing down to the frontiers of Abba or is it Njikoka. The only difference here is the penchance of a major hold up cause by the closure of the road by the contractors.
But the good thing about the road from Awka section coming down to Enugu Agidi, is that some patch work were carried out to cover most of the pot holes pending when the major construction reaches those parts as I noticed.

Oh....Spyder, and thanks for restoring the theme of the thread as well!

We should focus solely on Igbo progress in the south-east and south-south, and be ready to checkmate Igbo haters posing as Igbos that will try to derail the thread! My 'report' finger is primed and ready the muthafuckers! smiley

But on a serious note the Onitsha-Owerri express way is facing much dilapidation as faster as imagined. The government needs to do something about that road before things gets worst.
The Ochanja section of that road is a no go area. Most motorist in order to avoid the long hold up cause by eroded section choose to pass round Obosi before transitioning to the Nnewi flyover.
Then from Okija section again, one part of the bridge has been swollen by erosion.
I think RCC who did the Anambra section of the road did a bad job unlike Berger who constructed the Imo part.
How the road dilapidated in a space of 11 years is really surprising.

I remember some years back, there was so much talk of how good and smooth the ride from Onitsha to Owerri was because of the road constructed during the OBJ admin! Not surprised that its now gone to seed knowing how we lack maintenance culture in Nigeria!

I tell you. It's really a shame. And the worst thing is that FERMA sees these things and do nothing until it gets worst.
I remember passing through Mgbidi junction of the Onitsha - Owerri road and saw the Imo Deputy Governor who still lives in Oguta inspecting a bad spot there. I knew he could do nothing about it because it's a federal road.
The maintanance culture in this country is very bad.

This picture was taken this very afternoon.
This is a picture taken at Abakpa bus stop, near mammy market. This is a picture of the start of the Enugu Onitsha Express road. One lane has now been completely abandoned for the right lane. The lane on the left is so much damaged that vehicles are avoiding it.

This is a federal road, there is no repair work in this road in the past 3 years at least.

Does anyone know the status of the contracts awarded on this road?

Was it cancelled?

Who is supervising who?

Which senator and HOR member is in charge of this road?

Can we bombard them with mails and pictures of the situation on ground.?

Let's act now.!
