so your public debt is 60 billion dollars
That is roughly about 60 percent of their GDP for a nation whose tax to revenue keep falling

Who are you fooling ? You were on credit fercility with IMF last year to the tune of 1 billion dollar . it was terminated based upon your poor rating , it isn't just about removing interest cap. you also need to increase your revenue so as to maintain yoir debt levels sustainability. You can't seriously expand expanding social development in this manner Your tax to revenue shortfall need a medical solution. Your apettitie of debt should be curtail. your economy outlook don't support too much borrowing.

China debt is not something we can talk about since your cash book didn't capture it.

IMF standby facility was a nice to have...it was an insurance against exogenous currency risks. We didn't need it.We never touched even a coin while it was available. We don't need IMF poking their nose around Kenya internal affairs or even the Brits or US.We are now a proud independent country.

Our debt grow yearly by very small margin...we try to keep it around 50%.Yours despite a suspicious rebasing will exceed 60% this year and we get 75% by end of 2020..so I can bet my house IMF will be in Accra in 2021

and Ghana has floated one this year
for 3 billion dollars and it was oversubscribed by 20billion dollars
There are people attracted by 10% yield and will risk in such junk bonds. Now tell me how you'll repay 10% plus currency depreciation of 25%(at best) is like 35% interest rate.It is gonna send you back to IMF ICU room late next year or early 2021.We borrowed 2 eurobond and it was mostly used to retire 700m commercial loan..and the 2nd Eurobond to retire the first one.

There was an excellent citizen tv interview with Mikosz and Joseph breaking things down from the 1st anniversary of the NY route which has carried a 100k passengers, the soft power and economic benefit of a global airline, nationalisation and real threats from Rwandair and ET! The latter was smaller than KQ just 10 years back. Now they've over double our fleet size.
The biggest takeaway from the one hour + interview was nationalisation will lower costs while we need a training centre that will cost under 30 mn$. The gov and parliament must act not just talk and push on with nationalisation.
Yes we need to seriously work on KQ including the risk of 70B ksh debt guarantee to US Exim bank that financed the dreamliner.Rwanda is a huge threat.

Aiyayayya! I'll never accept stats from any W African country,Bleep not even Benin or Chad!? Imo,this is a reflection of their socioculture which many say was ruined by the slave trade. Their problems aren't so much economic but rooted in a negative psychology that's satisfied with image over substance-IIRC you said they never pay their loans while you were consulting for some SME.
They know it deep down-see how quick they are with mouth word salads of 'advice' trying to deflect from the issue-goddamm,Ghanaians!?

Our company is testament..we failed in Ghana and are failing in Nigera. We have succeeded in all east and southern Africa countries. They simply don't repay loans. There is a criminal mentality like you find in their former country men..black slaves.

kenya is a failure of a country, your China debt is not even captured yet neither is All debt all your enterprises captured yet and you doing poorly around 60 percent . comparing yourself to a country that has calculate both the debt the country owes separately from the state-owned enterprises together is a pure joke . you must be mad.

But we deal with you soon...no time now.

Gibberish. For example most China debt is SGR debt owed by Kenya Railways corporation which will repay because we are ahead of schedule in viability. You don't talk about macro economic of any sort.Your GDP to debt shot to 58% already despite cooking books.Talk about HDI and micro economy...aka informal economy.

It combination of mismanagement and corruption.I was talking to a KQ guy yesterday and he told they should not have bought Embraer but gone for cheaper to maintain propeller planes.Dont worry about Tanzania in anything in your life..they are nearly congenital stupid.Rwanda and Ethiopia are very discplined and frugal...makes for their lack of brains.Kenya can hack because our labour force is pretty good quality wise but we are so corrupt.West and Central Africa is going to be the battle ground.South African Airways luckily has serious problems like their Eskom...so if we avoid the Emirates and go for funny routes in DRC or Cameroon where you can charge an arm and a leg we can be profitable.

Federal Government to develop gemstone laboratories By Cornelius Essen, Abuja 14 November 2019 | 4:05 am The Federal Government, yesterday, said it has approved the development of gemstone laboratories that would enable the country certify the genuineness of precious stones locally. The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite, stated this during a familiarisation tour of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA), in Abuja. He urged the management to focus on developing capacity to attain the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) Certification in order to generate revenue for the nation. According to Adegbite, the training of competent staff has become necessary, instead of outsourcing and referencing the commodity to other countries of the world. The Minister further explained that the certification and repair of faulty equipment locally would not only save foreign exchange, but also generate additional revenue for Nigeria. Also, the Minister of State, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, tasked the management to make Nigeria the mining hub of Africa, and assured of the Ministry’s to enable them achieve set mandate. Earlier, the Director-General of NGSA, Dr. Abdulrazak Garba, said the agency is delivering on its mandate of wealth creation as well as producing geological data on precious metals. He said the generation of the interactive map of gemstones, will offer first-hand information to foreign investors, while reiterating commitment to achieving greater success.

Kano, Chinese firm partner to boost state economy By Anthony Otaru, Abuja 13 November 2019 | 3:42 am The Kano State Government and the Shandog Province firms are partnering in the areas of leather production, textile manufacturing, agro-allied and solid mineral mining to boost the state economy, a Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC) report has said. Recall that last month, Deputy Governor, Nasiru Gawuna, led a delegation to the Shandong Province, where he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on behalf of the Kano State Government on mutual investment relationship. Governor Abdullahi Ganduje restated his administration’s commitment to the partnership with the Chinese delegation at a meeting in Kano. Advertisement Represented by Gawuna, the governor said considering the vast commercial opportunities and endowment the state is blessed with, the government will not hesitate to encourage investors to come and invest in the state. He said: “We have many areas of investment opportunities that our investors can properly harness for mutual investment benefits, which include leather, textile, agro-allied and solid minerals industries, among others.” According to the Governor, as part of the agenda, a high-level delegation from the Shandon Province would meet with the business community in Kano, to discuss issues on commerce and investment for the benefit of the partners. He said: “Our gathering here is for the delegation from Shandong Province to meet with the representatives of Kano business community operating in the private sector. They are very committed and full of determination to partner with any willing investor either in Greenfield or Brownfield investment.“ The Governor further expressed optimism that the visit would translate into reality by concretising all investment offerings and negotiations, stressing that, “As you visited Kano and met with its people, we hope there will be exchange visits to strengthen our sister- relationship with Shandong Province.” Speaking, leader of the Chinese delegation, who is also the President of Shandong Provincial Committee, Fu Zhifang, expressed appreciation to the people of Kano for the great hospitality accorded them during the visit. “We have been to some historical sites of the ancient city of Kano and some commercials centres; from what we have seen, there are a lot of endowments on investments, which will soon be established between the sister states,” he affirmed. Zhifang also assured that their visit to Kano would give room for investment relationship with the Shandong Province, which according to him would be beneficial to the present and future generations of the Peoples Republic of China and Nigeria in general. The delegation visited the Northstar SME industrial cubicles at Sharada, which is a ready- made cluster for any interested Chinese Company, the Kano Emir’s Palace, Kofar Mata Dye pits, and Gidan Dan Hausa museum among others

Kenya debt to GDP plays around 40-60..we start leveraging when we get to 40..and debt refinancing when we cross the redline. We can teach Ghana so many lesson in prudent financial management
Ghana debt to GDP is 57%

well withing manageable limits
we still consider it high
