lol yes coding is cool, but note that you just started and you are in for a long ride, but if you have the zeal, patience and time, l believe it would be worth it.
lt could get frustrating at times, but it's super cool and no matter how frustrating, l personally find it more fulfilling and enjoyable than many things out there in my opinion, because coding is both art and science in one, especially the aspect of coding that involves creating new stuff.
But note, that coding and/or programming is only an aspect of computer science, not all of it.

I particularly like the hands-on demand that comes with coding. I mean you have to actually do it to learn it and by repeatedly doing it you gain confidence and skills.

The creativity aspect is rewarding I suppose. I'm a deep thinker so I love the puzzles. I can't wait to master the basics so I could try building all these ideas I have, bringing them to life!

Yeah I know CS is a lot more but at the end you have to specialize in one or two areas as you can't possibly be an expert in CS as a whole right?

Well, I learnt python was easier to start with.

I'm learning JavaScript right now and it's just about everything I learnt in python but different syntaxes and names. It's so boring. I'm just zooming through it. I like the DOM part though, and also the Events part.

I am currently with a self taught programmer who started in 2017 and is currently earning almost 400k monthly and he is the one who advised me against the whole speed learning pit most beginners tend to fall in, so I back-tracked and took it slow. I am very happy with the results.

Tutorial haven lol. I'm very impatient and when I'm not seeing practical application of things I learn, I get disinterested pretty fast. I had to get so strict with myself to sit down and learn python basics because many devs on reddit advised to learn the basics thoroughly . I wanted to jump to projects and applications.

Now I'm done with python basics and I'm working on a web app with Django framework and also a data project for a chartered accountant relative, using pandas and tabula-py libraries.

pls dont use books u will get overwelmed with it go to freetutorials.us and find a good udemy tutorial on what u want to learn there are good python tutorials there learn how to download torrent files drom youtube and then go back to freetutorials.us and download any course u want all for free this is my 2cent advice to u

Sure. Books start from scratch and explain the basic concepts properly. I'd say read the books, make notes, and practice on your machine. Videos are helpful too, but mostly when it comes to installations and file paths.

I learn better with books though, so I use them most of the time.

you see i faced the same problem too with youtube because most of the tutorials their are not structured that is why learning from udemy,lynda or any other mooc is better because the courses their are structured and being taught by one person or at most two instructors and with that you will get to learn the major and important concepts you need to learn and again books covers several things in which many u might not need when writing real programs i remember when i started learning javascript then i saw a hasproperty() method and several methods like that but now that i have been working on projects using react and nodejs i havent even come to any situation when i need any of those methods, learning from a good instructor will shorting the time of learning quickly because he knows what and what u will be using mostly and use teach them to you and as for books they are mainly used for reference but as for me i always make sure when am coding my laptop is connected to the internet so i google my proplems or make reference quickly to either stackoverflow or mozilla developers network no time to the read books again that one end for university

i have built an ecommerce website and today i finished my second project which is a blog that i created using reactjs,nodejs and mongodb am starting another one on the 24th of nov thats is a sunday hoping to finish it before 25th of dec and after that i will be working on a chating system am just lined up project till january while i work on python at the side
